  1. This is just laughable to me. How can this be? Nomar tore his groin muscle, off the bone, merely running out of the batters box next year. He never played OF in the majors(that I know of), and now the Indians want to stick him in probably the toughest of the three outfield positions? Thats ludicrous. I would think they would be better off with their rotation of Casey Blake and Ben Broussard in right field over Nomar in right field. But what do i know.
  2. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) Cool site, but I don't like the songs they suggest unfortunately. Some were good for me, some were bad. I set a playlist up for my wife based on The Killers, and the first song that was played after the Killers was New Order, "60 miles and hour". Now I love New Order, and I really like their newer stuff, but my wife didnt see a connection, and didnt really like the choice. It is definitely interesting though. I think it helps alot if you tell the "radio" which songs you like and which you didnt, so they can make a better database.
  3. Way to get off on the right foot with prospective students. What a moron.
  4. I swear that I saw a graphic that the Colts have the easiest schedule in the league. I certainly dont see them apologizing for whooping up on Jacksonville 35-3 yesterday. And I know for a fact that Tennessees defense isnt all that great right now.
  5. Im curious how much longer we are all going to be forced to listen to Kid Rock butcher, re-butcher, then butcher again the same f***ing song which wasnt good to begin with. I cringe everytime ESPN leads a segment with the soundbite with "I, luv,.....". Come on ESPN, just LET IT GO. Please. For my sanity. We all just want to forget about the Kid Rock catastrophe. Just let it go.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) John Cena is the current chest-slapping king. At least when he's on Mad TV. No, there are two "Kings" of the chest slap, IMO. Chris Benoit gets the painful slaps most frequently, you usually see finger bruises on the other guy after the wrestling matches. Then there is the Big Show. With as big as his hand is, and how strong he is, its not a surprise that he gets the loudest slap.
  7. Balta, that was a threadjack of Juggernaut/ID proportions. Personally I own a 27 year old Electrolux that performs now as well as it did the day it was bought. It isnt anything pretty, but it gets the job done well and has a retractable cord, which is probably my favorite feature
  8. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 01:43 AM) Beckett is the best pitcher of those three. He has won his 15 games and if he can stay healthy will be very good for the Red Sawx. I wouldn't put Beckett with those 2 right now. What? Thats laughable. Beckett won 15 games once, last year. Other than that he never got over 9. All three of those pitchers belong in the same boat. All potential, minimal production, plenty of time on the DL. And you can take your statement about being healthy and apply it to all three also: "if (Kerry Wood, AJ Burnett, Josh Beckett) can stay healthy will be very good for the (Cubs, Cardinals, Red Sawx).
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) Yeah, it's hard to transfer a coke-induced trip to the big screen Says who? The Wachowski Bros had no problems
  10. Varitek cant catch Wakefield to save his life. In fact, I think Mirabelli is the only catcher that can halfway catch Tim Wakefield at all. If the Red Sox get Loretta and Dave Roberts out of the deal, they will have a faster team next year. Boston is counting on Josh Beckett to be a Cy Young, start to finish. And they are counting on Curt Schilling being 100 percent and back to normal. and they are counting on Foulke to return and be dominant, and Arroyo to regain his form, and Wakefield to be able to pitch effectively to Varitek. Seems like alot of dominoes have to fall in place for the Boston Red Sox to be successful.
  11. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) I believe Stephen King was really bored when he wrote that story. In his defense, the book was at least a little bit better. I liked the ending better in the book too. The book was a hell of a lot more violent, and the trucks played a way bigger headtrip on the people stranded in the truckstop. Stephen Kings books are always better though, the way he writes just doesnt translate to the screen very well. There is just too much brain-talk going on and flashbacks and craziness that the stories have to be dumbed down to make the big screen. This is why my biggest fear is that Stephen King will one day try and bring The Dark Tower series to the movies.
  12. How awesome is it that Comcast decides to run the DVD tonite. First time I have seen it. I'm verclempt.
  13. I dont agree with Congress doing it, but I wish there were some force out there somewhere that could rectify the atrocity that is the BCS.
  14. I went to the World Series statistics page to see if there was anything in the numbers that showed that any one of the pitchers he mentioned deserved to be featured on the DVD for any reason whatsoever. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/stats/interl..._and_events.jsp And I found there really is no reason. Brad Lidge, 3.2 IP 4 hits 2 runs, 2 earned runs(which both lost the game) 1 blown save 4.91 ERA Russ Springer, 2 IP 2 hits 1 run, 1 ER 4.50 ERA Mike Gallo 1 IP 0 H 0 runs 0 ER 0.00 ERA Dan Wheeler 2 IP 3 hits 3 runs, 3 ER 13.50 ERA Astacio 0.2 IP, 4 hits 2 runs, 2 ER 27.00 ERA
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) This letter sums up so many of my feelings about the current state of what is popular in this country right now (ie, good, smart, shows like Too Late With Adam Carolla and Arrested Development get cancelled while "Yes Dear" keeps a chuggin). Adam Carolla's show didnt make it because stuff like this happens, http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/steveocorolla.html and as you can see Adam is pretty much powerless to stop it either because he doesnt care or he knows he cant stop it.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) WTF's going on? The Bulls are making every open jumper they get. well, they stopped that. The foul differential is huge already
  17. They tricked me, its on Directv channel 648. I dont think that was ever the assigned channel for Comcast +
  18. Ok, qwerty didnt make his gameday thread with starting lineups, The Bulls game starts at 6:30, its listed as being on comcast sports, and I cannot find it on either WGN, WCIU, or Comcast Chicago (640 or 639). What gives? Did the broadcasting rights get changed or something?
  19. I dont believe Stapp at all. The guy is a dickhead who has had plenty of domestic abuse and alcoholic problems in the past, and 311 is known for being a peaceful reggae sounding band.
  20. http://blogs.chron.com/specialfeatures/arc..._series_dv.html A little different spin on things. Mostly bitter. Found this on chicagosports.com, and thought the quote "Reading this, one would think the Series went seven games." was completely appropriate. The responses are great as well
