  1. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Mar 30, 2016 -> 10:18 AM) I think that was all overblown. Noah didn't deny having the talk, he just didn't want it to seem like he had offered to play a lesser role, which is what Hoiberg said. In that talk he knew that he was coming off the bench. He didn't learn that through the media. Still, again, that's a non-issue when it comes to evaluating what went wrong with this team. A professional like Noah could (and really, did) brush that off as a rookie-coach mistake. Seriously man, everything is overblown when you disagree with it
  2. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Mar 30, 2016 -> 09:41 AM) Nah we would still need Lawrie, considering we had the worst production in the MLB out of the 2B spot last year. Even if Lawrie is only the 20th best 2B (where projections have him), that's still a big upgrade. And we gave up nothing in the trade to get him. Stop with facts
  3. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Mar 30, 2016 -> 09:14 AM) f*** and no. Noah has been/was so incredibly dreadful on the offensive end. He couldn't shoot. He couldn't get put backs. He couldn't shoot FT's. You brought in a guy to change up the offense and score points. Playing Noah and Gasol together wasn't going to achieve that goal. I backed Hoiberg on that decision 100% and I still do. Noah could have been an anchor on the defensive unit that played down the stretch when the Bulls had a solid lead. That would have been perfect. Expecting him to play the 4 with Gasol and actually contribute anything meaningful was a pipe dream. Of all the things to complain about with the front office and Hoiberg, this issue is not on the list. Doing it and how he handled it are two completely separate issues. He told everyone that Noah came to him and suggested that he come off the bench, all of the media went to Noah immediately and asked him about it and he had no idea what they were talking about. In his misguided attempt to "protect" Noah he inadvertently embarrassed him AND revealed to him that he was coming off the bench through the media. The decision was correct, the follow through was college level bulls***
  4. OL Manny Ramirez visiting the Bears
  5. QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 05:49 PM) I understand that, but I wouldn't mind a trade for a left handed bat. I've always loved Sanchez and Lawrie is not doing anything to impress. He has struck out 17 times in 44 at bats, this Spring. Yikes. Do tell
  6. QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 05:43 PM) Given the superior defense that Sanchez provides, if Lawrie doesn't start hitting, and Carlos starts the year on fire, at Charlotte, the Sox will be confronted with a difficult decision. Lawrie has not had a good Spring. His strikeouts are just awful. Way too many. Carlos has outplayed him by a huge margin. The Sox aren't gonna bench Lawrie and call up Sanchez early in the season if Lawrie isn't hitting. The only reason Sanchez will come up will be Saladino being miserably bad or injury
  7. QUOTE (shysocks @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 11:49 AM) Report: Royals to seek revenge on Mets for World Series brushback I needed a reminder of how obnoxious the Royals are, and this arrived just in time! I would throw high and tight on Escobar again. Dude goes up there looking for the first pitch, you might as well
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 11:49 AM) They probably have better odds at signing someone via FA. I think more likely destinations are smaller market teams who have to overpay via FA. If I were the Bulls front office I would play on the fact that the Lakers are getting kind of desperate to get some names on the floor and that Derrick likes being in LA. Maybe steal Russell from them since Scott seems dead set on gluing him to the bench
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) I'm just wondering if, given his contract, you could get a first round pick for him. Maybe if you took back a longer contract perhaps? With the cap space you wouldn't have to match the guy coming back if both teams had money available. *cough*lakers*cough*
  10. QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 07:12 PM) You use "sick days" so you can watch baseball games when not sick? And then you post on the internet to that effect? Jobs dont normally let you keep your sick days, so use them how you please
  11. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 07:40 AM) I hope that Gasol doesn’t come back. He’s a solid player, but the Bulls need to get younger and build for the future. Yea this is a nice thought. I wish Gar had it when he could have traded Gasol and Snell to the Kings at the Deadline for McLemore and Koufos and a lower draft protection. You know, to get younger and build for the future
  12. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 09:38 PM) sarcasm? Moi?
  13. Good job. Good effort
  14. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 01:57 PM) From a student at Harvard: In a class I attended earlier this semester, a large portion of the first meeting was devoted to compiling a list of rules for class discussion. A student contended that as a woman, she would be unable to sit across from a student who declared that he was strongly against abortion, and the other students in the seminar vigorously defended this declaration. The professor remained silent. In a recent conversation with peers, I posed a question about a verse from the Bible. A Harvard employee in the room immediately interjected, informing me that we were in a safe space and I was thus not permitted to discuss the controversial biblical passage. And these are just stories from the past three months. Keep up the good work Liberals.... saw it on the internet. seems legit

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 12:42 PM) I just saw that quick little clip in the trailer. I've never read any of the Civil War stuff from Marvel. It's a little more nazi-esque people registering than it is protecting ourselves from alien threats

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 11:43 AM) Yeah, superheroes kill people in just about every movie and a ton in comic books. I'm sick of that argument. The opening scene in Superman/Batman was one of my favorite. It shows the consequences of a super hero and super villain fighting in a large city. People are getting killed, it was unique way to look at a giant fight like that. I think Age of Ultron should have done something similar when the city was being raised into the sky. They actually might talk more about that in Civil War. Um, of course it is being talked about. In the trailer they are talking about it, that is the impetus for the Sokovia Accords
  18. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 10:23 AM) Hey, I didn't say I was super excited about the deal. He will help them stretch the field a little, but he is so hit or miss with his play. Just giving you s***
  19. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 19, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) Laurinaitis was PFF second worst graded ILB last year. Cook hasn't caught a TD in 19 games. Long hasn't been healthy in three years and is 30. Big name players, but little production. I can see why the Rams cut them.
  20. that isnt rhetorical, thats a pretty straightforward question. I believe they can co-exist

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 08:31 AM) Batman vs Superman was a pretty big mess, but I still enjoyed it for the most part. There was some stuff I really liked and other things I thought were really dumb. The thing that ended up bothering the most was that Metropolis and Gotham were right next to each other. I thought that was really odd. In my head, I always pictured them on a map kind of like Springfield is on the simpsons. Whenever it is time to pinpoint exactly where it is at, it gets obscured lol It is strange though, you would think there would be a lot of Superman/Batman overlap

QUOTE (bshah723 @ Mar 27, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) $424 million dollars this weekend. Making it the highest grossing comic book movie of all time. Seems like critics and sox talk hate the movie but the world still went to go watch. Next few weeks like Balta said the numbers will more than likely drop due to bad reception. It's not a movie for everyone, but watching the trinity on screen together is/was amazing. Bring on suicide squad baby!!! Let's see how a non synder movie is made. I love David Ayers work. Maybe highest grossing opening weekend? But even that I have to question, I know domestically they came in 4th all time
  23. I agree with balta but also agree with Dick, there is simply no way that Hoiberg will be fired one year in. They aren't gonna be paying three head coaches at once next year
  24. Some strange commentary about Rodon in that thread
  25. QUOTE (ozzfest @ Mar 27, 2016 -> 01:41 AM) I got absolutely demolished on this board for posting my Chicago Front Office Rankings. I put the Bulls FO last behind the Blackhawks, Cubs, Bears, and Sox. Those rankings look pretty accurate now don't they? Also, I wonder where all the people are who were hating on my "The Bulls' biggest problem is John Paxson and Gar Forman" thread. The Paxson apologists have nothing else to say. Out of excuses for a mediocre player who made a couple of clutch shots riding the coattails of the greatest of all time. 15+ years of mediocre/garbage basketball. Can't wait for White Sox baseball to start up in a few weeks... You got blasted because you kept repeating the same stupid bulls*** and bumping your thread so you could repeat it again. Nobody cares
