  1. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 10:11 AM) hindsight is all we are doing here, and it is here that we are discussing chi bull news and opinions. yea ok.
  2. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 10:04 AM) or acquire the missing piece thru a trade. barring that....... are we not all working on the premise of hindsight and of opinions, including your???? Hindsight doesnt change my opinion that the Bulls didnt have a magic crystal ball that could predict what happened to Rose, and allow them to acquire a magic player that could provide the same production
  3. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) no, but there are levels of players whose talent could have help with the sharp bite of loosing Rose and his talent. Like who? Who were the Bulls going to sign that is good enough to cover the loss of Rose for basically 3 years? You are operating right now with the hindsight of what happened, GarPax have their faults but being able to predict they were going to lose Rose for that long and have a capable replacement waiting in the ready is just a ridiculous notion
  4. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 01:20 AM) They did. And I like how AustinIllini dodged the question of why the Bulls are a whole lot worse than last year with Thibs. And how the minutes haven't changed under Hoiberg, the injuries are as bad if not worse and the only thing that has changed is the team is worse on offense, defense, point differential and wins. How'd they go from the only threat to Cleveland to not knowing if they'll make the playoffs. He tried to implement the Spurs offense and the players couldn't pick it up or wouldn't pick it up. Same with Hoiball. Thibs became a victim of his own success. He constantly overachieved. Here's some analysis from FiveThirty8 for ya'll. http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/the-bul...in-nba-history/ There's a reason why Golden State and San Antonio are asking him for consultations. Also, the Nets tried to offer him the job after Lionel and King were fired, but he didn't want to make a decision right now and he wants to coach either the Knicks, Lakers or wait until a better opening is available. Let us not forget how the Bulls dicked around with his firing too. Waiting waiting and more waiting. And whether Thibs was right or wrong about leaking stuff to JVG messed up his relationship with Jerry. It's funny how GarPax are always about not leaking stuff yet they let Butler and Noah run rampant. And they always leak stuff to the media about how Derrick is cleared to play when he wasn't mentally ready, how they say he's out for general soreness or how Deng is cleared to play, but it's up to his pain threshold when the guy had a broken foot. The basis of Thibs getting fired and that relationship turning sour was all Gar Forman. The guy was pissed because he wasn't getting enough credit for 2010 (how anyone can complain about not getting enough credit when you got backdoor swept in the ECF is anyone's guess) and after that, Gar started trying to consolidate power. The whole Ron Adams thing was a power play that Gar won. Funny how Adams is coaching for the defending champs, is a basketball lifer, and never had any issues with anyone in basketball but Gar. He was named Assistant Coach of the Year last year. And Boston sang his praises when hiring him. Also, Adams was the coach that Rose trusted the most. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2013/10/...?event=event12# That's when the leaking really started about how Thibs is stubborn, didn't want to change, didn't want to adjust the offense and he was the reason for losing as if the roster makeup and the constant bs injuries his and now Hoiberg's team is dealing with. Thibs tried different things. Getting the offense to run through Noah and getting Taj to shoot the corner 3(yes, and this was in Zach Lowe's podcast with him too). And last, but not least, was the undermining of him by installing Jen Swanson, making it the worst known secret that Hoiberg would be the next coach of the Bulls a full summer before Thibs was let go and by putting unrealistic expectations on Thibs. Tell me how Jen Swanson is doing now. Tell me how Hoiberg is managing the minutes soooo much better than Thibs and is preventing injuries and keeping guys fresh. Thibs will never be an employee of the Chicago Bulls because Jerry Reinsdorf who originally hired Thibs when GarPax wanted Mike Brown, Lawrence Frank and Doug Collins, saw things Gar's way as he muddied the waters and made Jerry see things his way. He's the ultimate suck up. PS, wanna know why the Bulls don't make trades? It's because of Gar Forman's smug ass. And if Paul Shirley never took down his post on Gar Forman, you'd see how much of a jagoff the guy is. Shirley took that post down? I wonder why
  5. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) nice win for the Hoiberg era (no DROSE, Gasol, or Dunleavy) tho they almost blew it at the end lol So many times down the stretch it was in Nikos hands. So many times bad things happened
  6. QUOTE (oldsox @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) You pro-Latos folks are deluding yourselves. Why, because you saw him pitch against the Rockies once
  7. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 12:06 PM) didn't thib's have a really good asst who was the offensive coach, while he dealt with the defense?? i may be wrong on this. Yes, Ron Adams. He is now Steve Kerrs assistant
  8. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 07:03 PM) [/b] Somebody should have told Hahn that since he didn't bring in his replacement. Yes he did, it's between Latos, Turner and EJ
  9. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 05:33 PM) Last time I heard it was still spring training. You can't hang your hat on games like this Yes you can. Let's not pretend like we haven't seen this from Danks since his shoulder was operated on. At this point we are all praying that somehow he magically finds "it" and is good again. The likelihood of that is not good
  10. Martavius Bryant about to be popped for a year long drug suspension, which means this is likely his 6th violation And the Bears re-signed Mariani
  11. @peggykusinski Per source #patriots Akiem Hicks meeting Friday night w/#Bears has carried over to today too ... He's still there
  12. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 10:41 PM) Fair. Maybe it was weak for Chicago. But violence still isn't something to accept or make light of. It was a scary situation. Trump makes light of violence at every event he speaks at
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 12, 2016 -> 09:20 AM) As a head coach, he kinda did. Yea, Thibs took his first team to the ECF. He was pretty much a good coach overnight
  14. @RapSheet DL Jarvis Jenkins to the #Jets on a 3-year deal, source said. Low-cost signing at just $2M per year
  15. i hope this power travels with them from Arizona in a month
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) It is nice to look (at least for the time being) at the standings and seeing the Sox near the top. Relatively speaking, didn't realize Cubs were 1-8. Only Baltimore is worse. I think the Cubs will be fine, but could you imagine what the reaction here would be if Robin Ventura brought in clowns to camp one day, followed by a guy walking around practice playing a guitar, among other goofy things, and the Sox record was 1-8?
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 01:20 PM) I was going to go down to the west loop to watch the hawks tonight but I fear the racist idiots that are going to be starting fights You might be isis, they have to punch you in the face. maybe even kill you
  18. PUNKD, SOXTALK EDITION I SAW WHAT YOU POSTED CHISOXFN

QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) Apparently I have been missing out on St Germain in Wisconsin. Its a pretty cool place. Its a big party on the lakes, and pretty close to Minocqua which is also a really cool town

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 11:34 AM) My family used to stay in 3 or 4 privately owned cabins that were within spitting distance of Elbert's for years until the owners of one of the cabins decided to stop renting it out. Now we've moved over to Leisure Lodge resort on Big St Germain and have been there for 6 or 7 years. Last year we stopped at the ice cream shop and I wandered over to Elberts for the first time in about 15 years and not a damn thing changed
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 08:31 AM) I'm with you. Somewhere in the middle. For every Bautista bat flip which I thought was awesome, there is a Grant Balfour type BS thing that really pisses me off. The timing is everything. Being excited about a big hit late in the game that ties it up or gives you a lead, how can someone have a problem with that? Acting like a moron rounding the bases after flipping the bat hitting a HR that makes the score 12-2? That's just dumb. The thing about Balfour is that he cant take it when he loses the battle. So many times he has gotten into it with players when they beat him, and thats just bush league. If you are gonna get all pumped up and talk smack when you win, then you need to suck it up and accept it when you lose.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 01:11 PM) I'm making two separate trips to St Germain in June. One with friends, one with family. We used to stay at Elberts Resort on Little St Germain
  23. QUOTE (Tex @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 05:33 PM) There is a line of sportsmanship that shouldn't be crossed. Baseball has stayed too far away from that line, but I also don't want choreographed homerun celebrations. Baseball hasnt even approached choreographed homerun celebrations. They cant even get past spur of the moment excitement from hitting homeruns
  24. QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 12:34 AM) I am so flipping glad to see Lawrie wearing number 15. His fire and dirtbag style of play is such a refreshing sight after seeing a pretty boy soft serve variety named Gordon Beckham. Even if Lawrie sucks - at least he'll be passionately pissed off while doing so. That said, I've got tall expectations for him at the dish this year and think he'll be a great pickup. I think health will always be the key for him, the talent is there.
  25. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 04:57 PM) I am pretty obsessed with Marianos mac n cheese and my wife is pretty over me wanting it. There is some flavor in it that I just cant put my finger on. It's called crack, shipps
