  1. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 03:13 PM) You think it'll be easy to ignore Cubs fans in Chicago after a title? I ignore them regardless. If they win, they win. Oh well, better luck next year. I'm not gonna whine about the media and fans because it was pretty crazy in the sox favor after they won. You deserve it if you win
  2. Who cares what they think? You cheer for your team and don't worry about the rest
  3. Marques Wilson put on IR because of his foot injury
  4. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) God help us if they win. Life goes on. Cubs fans made it through the Sox winning, I'm sure we will be ok if they do
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 02:14 PM) You see things as cut and dried sometimes. Just because this guy is doing this one lousy thing may not mean he's "s***ty people." Not everything is cut and dried in this world. How come you guys won't believe me when I say he's a good dad to the 2 kids and doesn't ever get violent or anything. Basically he's a good provider/good person who does this heinous thing. I wouldn't cheat but some people do. She caught him once. It's probably inevitable she catches him again. For me to turn him in, that seems pretty wrong. I rarely hang out with him. I haven't cut all ties with him because of his cheating. I don't know why you'd assume that. Some people get pissed off when a professional (psychiatrist) obviously is not doing his/her job, not even retaining any information from a first meeting. Obviously the wife likes him enough to stay after the first cheating incident was uncovered. It's very sad he's cheating. I told him I thought he should get help and he told me the psychiatrist story. I told him he might consider just going cold turkey on the cheating and just turn over a new leaf the rest of his life, in his world telling him he had a good run with multiple women, now it's time to put that all in his past. I don't see why I should tell the wife anything. I mean the guy might even kill me or something if I did that. Stranger things have happened. I don't know why you all would suggest I have to tell her. She already knows he did it once. This guy claims he's a sex addict. He claims he needs the attention of the multiple women. He did say he's much older than the current woman he's cheating with and whenever he leaves her in a restaurant or anywhere he comes back and some guy is hitting on her. In this day and age of people unwilling to get involved I think my behavior in this case is about a 5.5 out of 10 in the advice I've given him, not a 1 or 2 as some of you suggest. For a guy who loves citing the downfall of modern civilization because of the lack of religion, you sure don't mind overlooking multiple commandments when it suits your narrative
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 08:44 AM) Creed was pretty darned good...albeit the sequence of boxing-related events about as likely in real life as Draft Day. And as lost as Mr. Jordan was in Fantastic Four, this was a far meatier role....he had the same director to work with as Fruitvale Station, too. From what I read, Jordan was one of the few bright spots of F4
  7. Greg, you are terrible. All you do is make excuses for s***ty people
  8. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 03:00 AM) This looks awesome. I’ve been called many things over many lifetimes. Ra. Krishna. Yahweh. That has to be my favorite single line of dialogue that I've heard all year. I love the Singer X-Films but my biggest complaint about them is that they are too short and don't always dive all the way in. An example of that would be in Days of Futures Past, when Vaughn was the director, he said that he would spend ample time in the future setting and he described his take on it as 'X Men meets Terminator'. Anyone who read the comic knows that the future setting plays a huge role in the story but it was only in the film for about 20 minutes. Singer said that Apocalypse is the longest film in the series and its the biggest in terms of scope and scale. Which makes me happy. I really like how Fox is approaching the X-Men franchise, rather than doing a full reboot, they retconned everything by creating an alternate timeline, which allows them to recast and whatnot. In my opinion, Singer is the perfect person to direct and godfather these movies. I remember watching an interview him on Charlie Rose, when he was during press for one of his films and he said that at it's core the X Men are about an oppressed people, fighting for their acceptance in the face of bigotry. With Bryan Singer, being a gay, Jewish man he brings something personal to the movies that you would not get from most directors. A good example of this would be the Iceman arc in X2. Fox was supposed to market Days of Futures Past as Bryan Singer's big comeback. He did a ton of press during production and while in post but after those (false) allegations about him came out, Fox halted on that angle of the marketing. I wonder what Disney/Marvel is thinking, because as it stands they are never going to get the X-Men films right back. I do know for a fact that if this movie or any Xfilm has tie-in video games/comics, merchandise and toys, that all of that money goes straight to Disney. They even stopped marketing the XMen in the comics. Maybe they stop publishing and manufacturing all things XMen and try to suffocate the property to hurt Fox, like they did previously with Fantastic Four. Of course they can buy the rights back but Fox isn't stupid enough to give away their biggest franchise but if Disney were to buy it back, some people say that it would rival what they paid for Lucasfilm. Which goes to show you how big the XMen universe is and its franchise potential. There are currently 2 films about to be released (Deadpool and Apocalypse), another 4 films (Wolverine, Young Mutants, X Force and Gambit) in active development and 2 TV shows being worked on. Marvel has effectively killed off the X Men as mutants, just like they did with F4. I'm sure they would like to use the characters at some point but I doubt they are losing any sleep. Maybe Singer can keep on making green screen crap and finally the fans will realize that the product is sanitized crap and stay away. I doubt it though, people keep lining up to see Transformers movies and they are terrible. Fox has made exactly one good movie since X2 and it wasn't singer that directed it, it was Matthew Vaughn, the Wolverine movies are trash. The only thing that looks decent is Deadpool and that's because Fox had to bend and allow the director to do it correctly instead of f***ing with it like they have every other property they have.
  9. QUOTE (yres @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 09:18 AM) Thank you everyone for your input. I guess I already knew that, but was just looking for some closure.
  10. http://screenrant.com/x-men-apocalypse-trailer/ Singer, it's time to hand the reigns to someone else.

  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 01:21 PM) Angels a finalist as well. Their division is wide open. They might as well go for it. Is this Scioscias last last last chance to get it right?
  13. Frazier is not worth Anderson or Fulmer. Or Adams IMO.
  14. @ken_rosenthal Sources: #Orioles have increased offer to Davis, possibly as high as 7/168. Team hopeful, even somewhat optimistic, that it can strike deal.
  15. Tony Snell has a distinctive thud when he bricks threes. I know this because I hear it a lot
  16. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) What if the Sox got Lawrie, Frazier, CarGo, and Upton within the next 24 hours? This forum would explode lol. Wat
  17. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 02:27 PM) One less team on asdrubal cabrera Yay?
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:57 AM) Seems they're trying to trade Soler to open up a spot for Heyward Joel ShermanVerified account ‏@Joelsherman1 #Cubs finished 2d for Shelby Miller. Were willing to include Soler. But Atl liked #Diamondbacks deal too much to pass up They have a spot for Heyward, Fowler isn't there. Soler isn't guaranteed anything, he was not what they wanted him to be If they want Heyward, they can go get him regardless of Soler
  19. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 10:31 PM) Bruce Levine ‏@MLBBruceLevine 34m34 minutes ago Cubs not done yet according to source . Big time outfielder next ? Hayward -Gordan - Car Go ? This man has not had a good offseason in terms of predictions. He had Samardzija back to the Cubs for something like 5/65M, Price was also a done deal He also thought Baez was sufficient to trade for Quintana
  20. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 07:59 AM) Which is why they shouldn't get Reddick. Another rent? Lord help us. Yea, yea, they'll extend him, they'll flip him...and they never do either. And saving draft choices isn't a savings if you are dealing away your prospects, which is what would happen. The clown gming has got to stop. And the love affairs with the As never end up well. See how the Cubs did it -they actually had a deal worked out for Castro before submitting the bid for Zobrist. You mean the Cubs don't plan on playing mediocre players at every position just because they aren't heroes? Weird
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 12:19 PM) We're not trading for Fernandez. We don't have enough for him anyway, unless we counterintuitively traded Sale, or included Abreu. This thread was made to discuss the other teams trading for Fernandez, since PHT now includes general rumors. Everyone talking about it was pretty clear in telling people that it was imagination, not reality. No need to police a thread
