QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 12:20 AM) Couple of reasons. Jimmy Carter is one of the greatest Americans ever. No hint of scandal. Never a hint of inappropriate behavior. One of the most amazing humanitarians of all time. Not only that ... he is brilliant. I don't know how many books he's written, but he is intelligent, classy, wonderful human being. He has a news conference to tell the world the cancer has spread to his brain. I could print some of his quotes but basically he said he was fine with whatever happens. He didn't push God on everybody but when the reporters asked him stuff he gave honest answers saying God is in charge of this. To have such a BRILLIANT person, remarkably smart person believe in God, the image of the man upstairs amid the clouds, how can I not use him as an example of proof that it is not ludicrous to believe there is an all powerful GOD in charge of us all? Jimmy Carter is THE epitomy of greatness and class. And he believes. I wish him the best as he battles this cancer I know of a brilliant man named Stephen Hawking who does not believe in God, and to this day he works on finding out the mysteries of the universe despite a debilitating illness. How can i not use him as an example of proof that it is not ludicrous to believe that there is no all powerful GOD in charge of us all?

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 07:35 PM) Rodney is on fumes like Soriano earlier. Rodney had a pretty good year last season, I wouldn't say he is on fumes as much as he is having an off season. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him be good for the Cubs down the stretch. Soriano has been in and out of baseball for the last three seasons

Cubs just acquired Fernando Rodney and DFAed Schlitter

Why is Jimmy Carter your baseline of religious arguments, greg?

If people made a Nats/pirates/twins/Yankees dedicated thread in this forum, we would let it exist just the same. Threads sink or swim based on interest. Obviously a few posters keep this one floating. If you don't like it, don't post. No big deal

QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 01:32 PM) Yeah, the girl who does the updates on the score or espn, initials JD, is apparently a former lawyer, or studied law, and she said she would be surprised if anyone took this case. I can't see there being anyway she can win regardless of whether or not it happened. Julie DiCaro. She said it is basically a he said-she said case, and the girl will have to provide proof of this happening. But apparently the girl has some witnesses and texts and such, but not a lot to go on from what we know

There are a lot of really good restaurants downtown. I have been going to a mexican restaurant called Javiers since I was a kid (back when it was called La Te Juanita) and it is still excellent. Wildfish is an really good sushi restaurant, Ditkas near the racetrack is good, Peggy Kinnanes is a fun Irish pub here is a few lists for you http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurants-g29...s_Illinois.html http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=Resta...n+Heights%2C+IL

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 05:08 PM) Wait, what? Has that happened before? I just saw an ad last night for it Actually it has(in a sense). If you can believe it, a Friends scene had never aired because it was to go on shortly after 9/11 and it was about Chandler going on a plane and being suspected of having a bomb. Only recently has it been made available to watch http://www.mtv.com/news/2244620/friends-ai...-deleted-scene/

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 07:03 PM) "This product really works! You should all buy it! I'm not just saying this because I'm an investor!" It's one thing to say you fully endorse a product, it is completely different to insinuate it cures concussions and knee injuries

So Russell Wilson just went kind of crazy in belief of nanobubbles

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 01:57 PM) God has a problem with lots of things, including a lot of things that are done by the large number of Christians yelling and screaming about this one thing. Well, fortunately for me my God accepts us for who we are.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 01:43 PM) Regardless of your moral beliefs, you can't deny that there is a very clear biological difference between heterosexual sex and homosexual sex. Of course there is, there is a biological difference in many organisms and how they reproduce or assert dominance or any number of different things. But God has a problem with this one thing, and he happened to tell some guy writing a book of his word thousands of years ago. For the record, I believe in the possibility of a god. I do not believe that this God would trouble itself with gay marraige.
-
It just seems so silly that an all emcompassing god would worry himself about two gay people getting married "Boom. Universe created, earth created, man created. You and you are allowed to get married. You and you, no. thats gross. Write that down. IM OUT EVERYONE! SEE YOU ON THE FLIPSIDE!" *puff of smoke*

Three foster puppies (8 weeks old) will be making their way to my house this weekend as a stop over until they find their forever home. Havent had a puppy in my household(much less three) since 1998, so this should be fun

Jimmy Carter believes God exists, therefore he exists?

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) We will see, I expect Rollins to retain at NOC. Even if Rollins retains, that doesn't make Sting cannon fodder. I think he can add to the program going through mania -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 02:14 PM) Sting will be 0-2 VKM did not create him so he is cannon fodder for WWE stars. Sting knows what he signed up for, he isnt a dummy. He isnt gonna be a title holder for years but i wouldnt be surprised if they let him hold the strap for a little while, because that would make a lot of money and sell a lot of merch -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 10:45 AM) Doesn't it seem like the NFL is #1 in "anonymous" sources in cases like this? Absolutely. And of course Gruden and RG3 arent besties, but come on now. Pull RG3 after one sack? If you are going to be ultra critical of another person in your profession, at least have the balls to put your name on it

Tony Stewart purposefully ran someone over?

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 07:41 AM) Either of the two above suggestions would reduce the overall number of crashes, which greatly decreases the chance of what happened. I doubt it, there is crashes in car racing, its part of the deal. I also doubt anything is done -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 07:24 AM) As a result of the deaths/injuries, they are either going to have to 1) slow the cars down or 2) stop racing at certain tracks, in order to avoid the worst crashes. Doing either of those things will drive ratings down, when they're already pretty low. I dont know that either of the above two suggestions would have prevented what happened to Wilson, that was such a freak occurrence.
