  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 08:32 AM) At the end of the day, there's not a whole lot you can do about it.
  2. Stone just had some very pointed criticism of the Sox on M&H, and mentioned losing for draft picks. He didnt advocate telling players to blow games, but definitely mentioned that it is for the better when you lose more games down the stretch. Check out the audio from 8AM-8:15AM on the score website
  3. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 10:33 PM) Gordon with a solid 0-4 tonight lol...at 2B Put him back at 3rd! Get that average back up to .270!
  4. QUOTE (1dog @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 06:34 PM) Especially if it's a mod/admin doing #2, I guess. Somehow the critiquing (or complaining) is never justified and the suggestions never correct. Yet, b****ing about said critiques is warranted. I guess it just depends on your perspective. Eh, could be worse. We let you b**** and moan, which is better than other unnamed sites
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 06:14 PM) Plus the decision worked so well that it's another feather in your cap. Really, this is deciding which brand of gasoline you decide to bring to the mound. BP? Shell? Citgo? They all ignite the same
  6. QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 04:46 PM) C'mon now. We all know RV is just keeping the seat warm for PK. I was hoping for Charlie Haeger.
  7. @AdamSchefter: Bears are keeping QB Jimmy Clausen over Jordan Palmer, who is being released, per sources. For now, Clausen has won Bears' backup job.
  8. QUOTE (1dog @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 04:24 PM) Which is worse - the people that complain, or the people that complain about the people that complain? From the mod/admin perspective, #1. Always
  9. His position had no bearing on his offense
  10. Q is now sad that Ron isn't impressed
  11. Betances pitches an awful lot. Considering the Yankees aren't contending, you would think Girardi would dial it back a bit on one of his best relievers Yea I know they could make the wildcard, but this team isn't winning anything
  12. Haha lindstrom warming. The end
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 02:29 PM) Nieto struggling of late Inconsistent playing time will do that
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 02:27 PM) Hawk seems to think it was because how many times we have been screwed by the home plate rule. Makes the catchers think way too much Even so, he was in position and he just let it skip past him. Didn't seem like he was blocking the plate to me
  15. QUOTE (lord chas @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) Nice for the Bears or Packers? Raji has a career -19 rating from PFF and hasn't had a sack since 2011. There is a reason he attracted no free agent interest this past off-season. He is a space eater though, he makes it easier for Mathews to run around unchecked
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 02:23 PM) WTH Nieto? No s***, what the f*** was that
  17. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 02:13 PM) Raji out for the season... Nice Terrible for him on a prove-it year
  18. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 01:42 PM) We should have walk prado but robin dont have a f***ing clue how too manage. Look, Robin has made a lions share of mistakes, but your hindsight saying that he should walk Prado to load the bases with one out in a 1-1 game is wrong.
  19. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 01:40 PM) U shouldn't walk prado would been double play there. They didn't walk Prado, he hit a 2 RBI double
  20. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 01:00 AM) Good. Let him sink with that ship. No kidding, let those contracts hamstring that team for the next couple years
  21. QUOTE (The Wiz @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 01:09 AM) I don't think anyone is saying Nava is blocking anyone for the Red Sox. However, I do think it is silly to just think of him as a write off and nothing but a AAAA player. The guy has a good eye and you have to love his work ethic and passion for baseball. And considering he was able to produce a .800 ops season as recently as last year and owns a career .360+ OBP over the course of the past 4 (albeit it has only been really only 1 full season he has played in the big leagues) suggests that he has some talent and hitting ability. I'd much rather take a chance on him in LF next year than another year of De Aza and Viciedo. AAAA = too good for the minors but not good enough to be a consistent starting MLB player. His passion and work ethic have nothing to do with it, the guy is on the wrong side of 30 and as you noticed he only has one full season under his belt despite being in the majors for parts of 4 seasons. It is what it is, Nava has a nice stroke but there is a reason why he isn't starting full time on this terrible Boston team with bad outfield play all around him. this season. And saying you would rather take a chance on him than De Aza or Viciedo isn't exactly a glowing endorsement
  22. I know this question probably transcends baseball and is more into politics, but Cubano do you think Cuba will get to the point that the teams will be negotiating with MLB teams in posting system similar to Japan? At some point Cuba is going to want to start getting something for their players instead of watching them walk away and defect
  23. Maybe Trestman can fire Decamillis and Tucker in his first round of cuts
