QUOTE (peavy44 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 11:04 PM) Why cant we bring up.chris beck too replace carroll or tommy hansen and really at this point who cares im tired of seeing scott carroll out there. Oh this makes my brain hurt

Yea, no big loss. Enjoy Puerto Rico and Mexico, ADR. Or maybe Jarrett will give you a shot

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 05:01 PM) Unless someone has an in with Tanaka, any reports will come from the team. What disincentive is there for a team to say they were right in it? Oh please, take off the tinfoil hat

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 09:20 AM) Reports out that Cubs were the team that put the claim in for Hamels. I would be shocked if they worked out a deal, but so much for the theory they don't have money. They went after Tanaka, they obviously have some money squirrelled away for a big pitching target

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 02:16 PM) It does seem strange to treat them here. How does this virus mainly spread? How are so many people getting the virus in Africa? You'd think if it takes over Africa eventually it'll spread everywhere, but maybe ptatc or somebody knows more about this. through bodily fluids. It is not airborne

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 05:19 PM) The White Sox have to lead the majors in just dumb/idiotic outfield play. Eaton's recklessness and decision-making with throws.Avisail's overall awkwardness out there. Tank's lack of ability to do anything well but throw when he has a full head of steam going. DeAza. Enough said. That DeAza play against Minnesota was probably the final turning point in the season...in terms of any prayer for fighting for the Wild Card. Win that game, and the series...things might be different. Instead of 4-2 or 5-1 against two last place teams, we're 2-4 instead. Now we're facing a very tough stretch of games. It was probably just an illusion anyway, to think we had either the rotation/bullpen to go on an extended winning streak (or could actually lose 5-10 games in a row with Abreu/Sale/Eaton/Quintana/Alexei and "compete" for a Top 11 pick that wouldn't be forfeited signed certain free agents). I dont know why you keep saying this when it is wrong

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 07:12 AM) I almost think De Aza's might have been worse. De Aza definitely got a worse faceburn, but the SK players legs flying over his head and spinning him around were much more fun to watch

QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 03:58 AM) How is that even possible? De Aza did almost that exact same thing a few months ago, it is in chw42's avatar

The Theory of Everything looks like it will be good, in a Beautiful Mind sort of way

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 04:56 PM) There's so much potential in this universe, but when your anchor is an already brutal Superman franchise and Ben Affleck as f***ing Batman, the opportunity to build upon it is already pretty shot. An old batman was a weird decision. They are pretty much having to reboot the character for the universe they are just now establishing. Batman is supposed to be old and tired, he will have to pass the torch (you would think) to a younger person. Unless they plan on going with a Batman Beyond type situation

Better late than never for DC. At least they could finally admit to themselves Marvel has it right and map out a plan

QUOTE (peavy44 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 03:27 PM) I know but we also got swept in 4 game series at target field. ok, bad things happen. but please, carry on

hey Peavy44, i think you should look at the Sox most recent 4 game set in minnesota. It turned out a bit different than you think

QUOTE (peavy44 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 01:45 PM) Like I said hes probably injured from head to shoulder to ribs

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 12:55 PM) I'm Ok with the drinking, hookers, drugs... etc. But Beiber? That should be a suspendable offense. Mayweather was in the picture too, so i think that got him off the hook

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 11:50 AM) You be careful, we'll ship you to Boston just like we did with Brian Anderson. well you are going with me, with your cowboy hat and "Murca picture

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 12:28 PM) Seriously, "21 YEAR OLD KID LIKES TO PARTY AND GET DRUNK, IS HE SATAN REINCARNATED?" I was ok with the pics with beiber and drinking and stuff. When the rolled 20s in the bathroom came out, thats when i was like "well now, this could be a problem"

Didnt Markakis break his thumb last season? Interesting that he had one of his worst years in a season when Baltimore finally got back to the playoffs

I am curious if Manziel will have the work ethic required to succeed as a QB in the NFL. He is no longer going to be able to drop back and dance around for 3 minutes and wing it into the endzone, he will get killed. He very obviously has the skills required, though

QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) Stop it. You clearly lack TWTW. Going on vacation in the midst of a winning streak. This isn't vacation bible school man. I make no apologies for having a good time

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 11:36 AM) I blame Kyyle for the catastrophe last night. Didn't show enough heart in the game thread. Danks didnt give me a chance to show heart. It was 1-0 before i sat down and looked at my phone.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 11:59 PM) It is funny though that it took Baez one game to hit more opposite field home runs than Barney and Theriot did in their careers. I dont really see what they have to do with each other. Baez is a power hitter, Barney and Theriot clearly are not

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 08:33 AM) Its the unofficial Chicago suburban living thing, have to take summer vacations with the kids to northern Wisconsin or the UP. We did Eagle River most years, Hayward once. Went back as adults some years ago, felt odd, but looked EXACTLY the same. yep. I have two coworkers that are heading up to Three Lakes this week. Everyone goes up there. It is sad though, lots of businesses are closed, it is a struggling economy. The resort owner said that the school schedules really mess them up now, they used to have a 13 week guaranteed window for familes to come up, and now it is about 6 weeks because of the varied schedules. A Vienna Beef Hot Dog stand in Eagle River closed down. How the hell is that even possible

The state of Texas has lit Danks up this season
