QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 02:48 PM) That's all you got? Just ignore the DRM news? What is this "news" I don't think anything has changed on Sony's part from yesterday? Edit: If it's Sony saying they're leaving it up the publishers, that isn't new. Last night they said they wouldn't be imposing anything. Which means they're leaving it up to the publishers, and hopefully we as gamers make the publishers who decide to do it pay financially.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 11, 2013 -> 12:10 PM) Yeah, I spent $299 on a PS3, what, four years ago? Whenever the slim came out. I've never had one problem with it. I love that f***ing thing. In 3 days it'll be playing what looks to be the best game ever made, too. Is it bad that I want to cancel all my plans this weekend and just play the s*** out of it?

I feel bad for TaylorSt. Still living in 2009 in terms of what he feels the PSN brings to the table.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 11:37 PM) You're far more likely to scratch the physical media than lose the info in a crash. You can't recover a broken disc. Will you be able to download a game twice once purchasing the license in the event of hardware failure? Luckily scratched discs have been a thing of the past for ps3 users with blu rays protective coating.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 10:56 PM) You mean keeping pace with Sony despite a counsel that breaks over and over again wasn't enough? Once Dad learns that he can watch football games and get rid of his cable box on the same machine his kid plays games on, it's over. Or, Mom can dim the lights and check Pintrest, while DVR'ing Girls. You do know that playstation is like this too right? All the media options are there and more will be in the future just like with Xbox. Not to mention sony itself is a media brand and will be able to offer much more then Xbox because of that.

Another thing about paying for online. You only have to pay to play online. Netflix and media are still free unlike Xbox live. Also lol at the network anyone whose been on the PSN lately knows its just as good as live.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 10:13 PM) Sony failed today IMO in everything outside of price. For a system that's supposed to be aimed at hardcore gamers, you'd think they'd be able to show a presentation that wasn't in-engine. The games looked worse. Watchdogs certainly didn't look next gen. Microsoft is ahead of them in the media center idea and they have the network to back it. I'm bored with gaming right now so I won't be buying either, but with integration options in the Xbox, I'd probably go that route. Regardless, you're probably better off going with the console that's more popular and I wouldn't bet on Sony. Just because its more popular this generation? (Which it actually isnt anymore)

Playstation obviously realized they can charge for online play after seeing how easily they were going to crush Xbox

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 09:49 PM) Well s***. I really did enjoy the free online on PS3, not that I used it that much. The only online game I played was CoD. All you have to do is subscribe to PS+ so If you already do its not that bad. Still annoying.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 10, 2013 -> 05:48 PM) Haven't heard those yet. They just announced yet another amazing trailer for WatchDogs, and then some kids games and Just Dance 4. Is there a release date for this yet? Is it launching with the new consoles?

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 11:49 AM) I was being somewhat facetious, but they discontinued the XBox 3 years after the release of the 360. The PSOne/PlayStation original was discontinued in 2006, 6 years after the PS2 release date; the PS2 wasn't discontinued until January of THIS YEAR, which is, again, a little more than 6 years after the inital release of the PS3. Just going through all of this, which company do you think has a better PR department? You don't want the first generation console anyways. You're going to end up spending $600-700 on it and there will be mechanical bugs like crazy. Get a second or third generation 3-4 years down the line once they've fixed most of the bugs, the system itself is more cosmetically appealing, and it's $200-400 cheaper. My launch ps3 lasted me until this spring without an issue

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 11:12 AM) It's to the point where I am strongly considering a switch to PS4. I probably won't buy it till the second price reduction, unless f***ing Microsoft takes away XBox Live for the 360 shortly after launch too, in which case that system becomes f***ing useless. At this rate, I could see them switching off live services prior to the One even being launched. They are really, really screwing the pooch on this one. Honestly, I don't think there's any way I can go back to XBox at this point. Doubt they would do that. Judging by how much money Sony made off the PS2 after the PS3 released why would Microsoft stop producing the 360 for at least 2-3 years?

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 05:17 PM) Listening to Coach & Company show earlier & Victor Conte was saying he believes 50% of players in baseball today are still cheating. Says it's way to easy to get around. Says players take these lifesaver type things or creams after ballgames & it raises their testosterone level which brings nitrogen to the tissue & accelerates healing & recovery & by the time they show back up the next day their levels are back down. He said they need a CIR test which can detect these kind of things up to 2 weeks after & they would be busting guys left & right. Why exactly is a cream like that illegal as opposed to other creams that are not?

QUOTE (TRU @ May 22, 2013 -> 04:59 PM) I see no problem with the used game fees they are talking about.. I buy everything new anyways.. Here is my question.. you have to install all games onto your xbox1 to play them, then you dont need the disc anymore from my understanding.. so does this mean I can buy a new game, go home and install it, and then trade it in immediately for max store credit? If so, I love this idea.. The used game market is going to be dead. So there won't be anywhere to trade it in.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 7, 2013 -> 09:09 AM) OK so I forgot how many awesome sports games there were. I killed a lot of time playing both MVP 05 and 06 (the college version). Both games were just sick. The college version was just so awesome. Better then 05, that game would have been incredible if it had the mlb license. Though the show is close to what the MVP series was, I still to this day wonder what would a current MVP after 7 more years of growth would be like. Also the ping was amazing

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 7, 2013 -> 03:16 PM) normally yes, but many stations have to power down at night to not impeed on 50,000 watt stations. Supposedly, this is WMVP's night coverage map: What exactly does this mean? Why wouldn't they be be impeding these stations during the day?
