  1. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 08:53 AM) I drove out to South Bend from NY this weekend. I'm not a ND fan (Florida State) but my friends are and since it is ND and has all those traditions I went with them. I used to hate ND for many reasons, but after experiencing the game, the campus, the rituals leading up to the game, the stadium, and the aura surrounding it I got a new perspective. They have maintained pre-game traditions and rituals from the time of Knute Rockne and after witnessing it and being there I really gained a new respect for them. I'm not going to start rooting for them, but I will probably quit rooting for them to lose. That being said, I voted I hate how the media protrays them b/c that still is really annoying. So what do you have to say to this milkman and B>W? There are no traditions with the cubs other then getting drunk and maybe watching a baseball game.
  2. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 07:37 PM) Well, it's not like they were that good or deserved those BCS appearances. He's rightfully on the hot seat because he's not that good at his job. He's had 4 top 20 recruiting classes since coming in, and is no longer forced to play freshman like he was the last two years. He isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be. Then again I could probably recruit a top 20 class for Notre Dame.
  3. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 09:15 PM) haha AJ What did he do?
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) Pretty much. The ND/Cubs comparison is dead on, right down to the so called game experience. Yep because you know the last night Notre Dame won the national championship was in 1908, and the fans love this lovable loser thing that been placed on the team. The fans also love going to notre dame stadium to get drunk and look at the hot girls. Nope the fans actually care about the football game that is happening, and they actually care about the record of their team year in and year out. Why else would Charlie Weis be on the hot seat after 2 bad years right after 2 BCS years?
  5. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) Well, do you expect me to leave that in there when my post was saying the exact opposite thing? You're right, though. They're very polarizing. Luckily it's been a very good couple of decades for those of us who hate them. And I've only been alive for those decades
  6. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 03:23 AM) I would trade anyone in either of the booths - including Steve Stone - to have John Rooney back. Man I miss that guy. Reinsdorf should have paid that guy... I believe that was due to the score but I may be wrong.
  7. Either way with Notre Dame you either love them or you hate them, there really is no middle ground so arguing is not going to accomplish anything. The easiest way to start a sports related argument anywhere is to just say Notre Dame.
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 03:04 AM) /fixed Do it and then fix my post. People at ND actually care about what's happening on the field. They actually give a f*** about their team which is what makes the entire experience awesome. My favorite part of your post is where you left out the part that makes your post worthless. Cubs =/= Notre Dame
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 01:08 AM) I hate that a team that hasn't been very good in my lifetime is forced down my throat year after year. And I hate that that has to happen to you. Obviously I'm a white sox fan so I can deal with low media attention I don't need NBC and ESPN to go crazy on us, and I'm not a fan of the team just because of the media attention.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 08:20 AM) You fools need to learn to chug water before you hit the sack, and keep at least one bottle next to you. If you let your body hydrate while you sleep, you'll never have a hangover again. ie instead of waiting to need an adventure for water, even if you're not thirsty before you hit the sack, chug a s***ton of water. a gatorade before bed works miracles and when I am hungover all I want to do/can do is sleep so haha
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) Just to opint out Knight, but Iowa opened the season in the top 25 in one poll. They did lose there stud RB, but they also were the only big ten team last year to win a bowl game and finished last season very strong and ranked. They almost lost at home UNI. Thats like Illinois finding a way to lose next week to the ISU redbirds. For that Iowa is worthless to me until they prove otherwise.
  12. Anyone who hates Notre Dame needs to go to South Bend one time and attend a Notre Dame Football game with an open mind. You will never experience anything like that anywhere. Go Irish. To the Notre Dame=Cubs give me a break no matter what teams you hate in any sport you're going to think their fans are annoying and biased.
  13. So I have tickets to the ND Michigan game next week and it just got a lot more exciting in my book after todays games. Go IRISH!
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 3, 2009 -> 01:48 PM) Makes you wonder why he didn't pitch in NY vs Jose. It was obvious Jose was done. We were showcasing Jose
  15. The wait for CoDMW2 is taking it's toll on me.
  16. Tversity is what I use to watch Movies on my PS3 never fails except with .mkv files but now I don't have to worry because 3.0 allows .mkv I heard but I haven't tested it to see if it's true.
  17. His facebook wall is be destroyed with congratulations so this is probably true.
  18. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 08:39 PM) Woohoo, I'm glad Pods got the call in CF tonight! He saved a run earlier so he's even.
  19. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 08:38 PM) A ring is a ring I guess, but how much is Jimmy really gonna play and actually contribute to that ring.......if it happens? He'll be the DH in the AL park in the WS if the dodgers get that far.
  20. Since when can Pods do that?
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) Because he would not get a ring if the Dodgers win, silly. (Apparently we will give him a ring if we win even though he will no longer be on our team when we win). Most teams give any player that spent anytime on their roster that year a ring. Like we did in 2005. Shingo Takatsu has a 2005 world series ring.
  22. KW knows that we will be facing the Dodgers in the World Series, and this way Thome will get a ring no matter which way the series goes.
  23. Thanks for all 134 home runs you hit here Jim.
  24. wow just wow hawk really doesn't like it here
  25. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 08:24 PM) Was he expected to be good? Hahahahaha Knight you dropped the ball right here DJ not JD
