And with zero work put in and some risky trades, the Mad Russian has built a long-term Championship contender (assuming it goes through). I hate the NBA one post after saying I like it. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the "tentacles" of a 14-player trade involving Dwight Howard are in place and that a deal involving three, or possibly four, teams could be in the works very soon. While all the particulars are not yet known, the deal could go down as soon as Monday where Brook Lopez, additional players and multiple draft picks may be going to Orlando, Kris Humphries and a potential pick could be on their way to Cleveland and MarShon Brooks possibly entering the fray as a trade chip going to a fourth team to make the deal work financially. The deal would gut the Nets roster of players, but it would get them to their end goal of finally getting Howard in a Brooklyn uniform. Sources have also said that Magic brass are set for a Monday meeting at 9 am ET to see if this is truly the deal they want to make. The nation's Dwightmare may be close to coming to an end in short order. Stay tuned.

I think the fact that we're debating who's better between Kirk Hinrich and CJ Watson shows what a sad state of affairs the 2012/13 Chicago Bulls really are going to be. It feels like we've regressed about 5 years with this signing, but that really had already happened the moment Derrick tore his ACL. The Bulls are maxed out and built poorly around Rose and it showed in the playoffs last year. We basically became the LeBron James Cavaliers, and our star isn't as good as James was even in those days. Thank God the league on the whole is entertaining to watch, because next year for the Bulls is going to be rough. You aren't winning an NBA Championship with a healthy Derrick Rose and a 45 year old Rip Hamilton at the 2, unless you have a superstar up front which the Bulls don't. They are poorly built and need contracts to go away. Hopefully Derrick can have some longevity, but with one bum wheel already chances are the Bulls are pretty f***ed and won't see a title anytime soon.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 04:10 PM) Poor DBAHO. Seemed like Magic fans thought they'd get a lot for Anderson. Ayon's actually an ok center. As for the Hornets, that roster is starting to take some shape.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jul 7, 2012 -> 06:28 PM) I'm a huge fan of Viciedo but I think the Sox should trade him to AZ for Justin Upton. AZ is willing to trade Upton and would be great to see the Sox get him. I swear to you I almost made this exact post yesterday the moment I saw the rumor that Justin Upton was "available for trade". Great post.

Ray Allen to the Heat at the price makes the NBA kinda laughable. If this is the way of the NBA the next many seasons, count me out. Why not just have every good player go to Miami and play for the league minimum? Pat Riley and his beaches are making a mockery of the sport I love. Thank God for the White Sox and the Bears and the Blackhawks.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 02:22 PM) Ozzie's silence was golden. The VETERAN closer was spouting bulls*** and Ozzie let him spout. It was fascinating IMO. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) He was not silent.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 04:22 PM) I wasn't calling you out, I more meant from a front office perspective. I didn't think you were, I just wanted to preface my response with my feelings on Luongo. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) Did you mean deify him? I'm not as dumb as you may think I am. Quin just got handled by greg. That is awesome.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) You guys don't even have an open mind on the matter. You tell me Ozzie didn't handle that situation PERFECTLY? I will lose respect for you if you actually say Ozzie handled that poorly. Huh? He didn't do anything. He handled nothing. He was silent.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 03:53 PM) Do you think Luongo can get this team back to the promise land, and win the Stanley Cup. As you mentioned, he is already 33. If you don't think he can, then there isn't any point in even thinking about the possibility. I haven't once advocated the addition of Luongo, and I don't think it'd be smart, but to directly answer your very good question... Yes, I think Luongo could be a difference-maker that wins us a Cup. I also think the Hawks could, if they ever decide to focus on the position, find a solution in the net and improve the line enough to win a Cup in the same short-term, and not be f***ed long-term. -
QUOTE (onedude @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 03:13 PM) I heard it starts off months after the second, then jumps ahead 8 years. Batman/Bruce is supposed to be 39/40 years old for the last film. You can kind of make out grey hair on Bruce in some shots in the trailers. And Bale is clearly in lesser shape (on purpose).

There's some grumblings that the Bulls might match the Asik offer. Shoot me in the f***ing eyeball if that happens.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) Yeah, like I said earlier, Luongo wouldn't be ideal, but he is way f***ing better than what we have, chokes and all. He is, but that contract, my God that contract. Luongo is 33 right now, and has a $5.33 million annual salary cap hit until he is 43. Sure, it looks ok for maybe 3 more years, but what about the remaining SEVEN? I just think there has to be a better way to get a goaltender than one with that God-awful piece of paper. -
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 6, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) Really? If we get rid of CJ, Brewer and Korver we have a good chunk of money to throw at someone who could be a starter for us I believe your statement to be incorrect and it's probably already been proven by Zoom or Balta directly to you multiple times.
