QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) Can't deny though that he's given Denver a ton of money and attention. Maybe that was part of it. They knew they'd be bad for a while, so why not stay in the headlines. See also the Ozzie Guillen Guide to Public Relations During a s***ty Season. Tebow is not Elway's guy. Elway wants Tebow out there for a brief period so that the moron fans and Bible pushers can stop chanting "TEBOW" everytime poor Kyle Orton throws an incomplete pass. Hopefully everyone shuts the f*** up moving forward so the Broncos can move on with trying to actually find a QB who can throw the f***ing ball with accuracy more than 5 yards. -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) Grady Sizemore might be a good fit somewhere but I kind of think we are loaded with Of'ers right now Having outfielders doesn't mean being loaded with outfielders. The only one who has proven he's worth a s***, when healthy, is Carlos Quentin, and all signs point to him being dealt this offseason.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) I think the only reason why this would happen is if he really wants to stay in Cleveland.
-
Sox should sign Sizemore. They won't.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 03:26 PM) http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/31/r..._n_1067171.html Terrible photoshop work, but funny premise.

QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 02:11 PM) Lesson #3; Is the color of the ice that important? Oh silly people from Texas. Black ice, sometimes called glare ice[1] or clear ice, refers to a thin coating of glazed ice on a surface. While not truly black, it is virtually transparent, allowing black asphalt/macadam roadways to be seen through it, hence the term "black ice". The typically low levels of noticeable ice pellets, snow, or sleet surrounding black ice means that areas of the ice are often practically invisible to drivers and thereby do not serve as a good indicator that they should reduce their speeds.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) Come on. Why else "hate" someone you've never met? He's religious, he shows it and he doesn't apologize for it. Might not be the total explanation, but it's a big part. The abortion ad certainly didn't help. It's got zero to do with "Tebow the God-lover" and everything to do with ESPN wanting him to be a superstar and my being forced to watch Broncos highlights ad nauseum if I ever make the mistake to turn on Sportscenter. I also don't hate the kid. I do dislike that he for some reason was drafted in the 1st round and is playing QB, which forces me to watch bad football whenever RedZone switches to the Broncos game and they have the ball! -

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) The guy never got the national recognition that he deserved. Were you alive in the mid-90s? He'll get 1st ballot, no question, btw. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 02:24 PM) ah, I didnt even pick that up. Maybe when I start watching that show when the snow starts falling. You'll love it.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 10:11 AM) I all the sudden want to head to the liquor store for some Manto Malt Liquor I'd have preferred BIG HURT BEER! jk. I swear I've never heard of Manto, but hopefully he's better than Walker!
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) So is there a different word I should use when something I said would happen does? I dont think there were very many other people on here who thought they would pick up that option. What? No, that was a 'Breaking Bad' reference. "Hector" is a character on the show who could only communicate by ringing a bell. There's a twitter feed for Hector and all it is is "DING DING DING DING" and I discovered and shared it in the TV Thread late last week. It had nothing to do with your post, and I'd not even made that connection.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 01:09 PM) DING! Beat me to it!

I didn't know where to put this, so here goes. After 72 days, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are divorcing. Way to stick it out.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 11:49 AM) Do you remember all of the criticism for Rex Grossman for his "bad Rex" moments and all of the critical statements about him and his preperation and Ron Rivera calling him a mental midget and all of the bad articles? do you ever remember an apologist column such as this? http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/33052141 No. The media destroyed Rex mercilessly. It was f***ing unbelievable and still pisses me off to this day. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) Tell me about it. I already watch Dexter, The Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire and the cartoon lineup on Fox. I'd like to watch Homeland, Hell On Wheels, and Boss (is that on Sunday or Friday, as I've heard both?). There's just too much good s*** right now. I can never not watch SNF (unless the Colts have been involved). What that means is I haven't seen any of the Sunday night shows yet. Tonight the Blackhawks are on and fantasy implications have me very interested in the football game again. Oh, and I have to give candy to asshole kids. IE - no headway will be made on the DVR. Again.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 08:04 AM) Rogers was a mid-20's pick who a lot of people thought had serious mechanical issues coming out of college. Having Rogers start right away was an invitation to turning him into Alex Smith. Having Luck sit for 3 years is a complete waste...he ought to be starting by day 1 in the league. Balta, stick to other sports buddy. First... "Rodgers". Second... just because they were both drafted the same year doesn't mean you can just use this weird statement as a broad way to state what would have happened to Rodgers. I'm sure he'd have wound up this awesome had he started day one or waited as long as he did or started anywhere in between. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) Wonder how the media would treat Romo if he was the QB in Jacksonville his whole career or a smaller market. I think it's about time for Dallas to look for new options. Romo clearly doesn't have what it takes. I mean, my goodness, how many elite receivers do you need? Jay Cutler would obliterate the world with Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, and Jason Witten (of course, he'd get dealt for a 3rd rounder because of Martz, but oh well). -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 05:57 PM) Hell, he's close enough that I don't care. Well, that's convenient. He made a pass yesterday (an out route) that made Henry Burriss look like Johnny Unitas. The dude just can't throw the football and makes poor decisions. His own team is probably already ready to give up on him... I bet we see Orton on Sunday. -

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
Steve9347 replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 28, 2011 -> 11:55 PM) Is it now safe to say the Cardinals were winners in this trade? I'd say the Blue Jays and the Cardinals won it. The Cardinals got a needed starter for a talented, albeit struggling outfielder. The Blue Jays got a high-upside outfielder and a Kenny contract for Jason Frasor. The White Sox got Jason Frasor and a busted SP spect. There are two winners, and one clear, obvious loser. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 29, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Are kids going to be trick or treating on Sunday or Monday? I realize that Monday is the actual Halloween, but I feel like Sunday would make a ton of sense. They're doing it on Monday, here.
