QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 05:58 PM) In the Gutterballs dream sequence he gets swallowed up by a giant bowling ball that does hit pins, but that cannot in any way be construed as him bowling. It counts, dammit.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) You don't see a team like the Royals or Pirates making an $16 million a year bid on AJ Burnett very often, but for some reason that kind of thing happens regularly in basketball (obviously the numbers are a little different). Excellent point. The standards of success set forth by the Royals and Pirates are clearly ones that should be emulated by NBA Franchises.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 02:48 PM) Fun Lebowski Fact: The Dude is actually never seen bowling in the film. False. It's been awhile, but I'm pretty sure while tripping he, connected to his bowling ball, "flies" down the lane and into pins.

2011 Music Thread
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 03:10 PM) well I don't think it's particularly clear if he's talking only about Metallica in that paragraph or the larger music industry in general and is using Metallica is an example. It also ignores that Metallica produced garbage albums pre-industry collapse. He was absolutely talking about Metallica, and just Metallica, in that statement.

2011 TV Thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 25, 2011 -> 10:18 PM) Sons is getting extremely predictable and formulaic, I think. I'd be surprised if anyone at all didn't see . It'll get the guys who were against being mules for the cartel to jump right on board, and you could see it all coming a the very second that . The first two seasons were really great, and this season is still enjoyable and entertaining, but it's the same damn crap every episode. It's either some convenient solution introduced each episode that you can see coming (like today) or some deus ex machina s***. And why the f*** would that wealthy guy trust Clay again after he's f***ed him over several times already? He wouldn't. Some of the characters are becoming inconsistent. Yeah... it's definitely not firing on all cylinders. I absolutely love the show still, but it seems to be following the same script over and over each episode. The show has been renewed for another season, so I have absolutely no idea how they wrap this season up. Obviously, Clay is now probably the main antagonist of the storyline and will have to get his in the season finale. That saddens me, as Ron Perlman is a fantastic actor and represents Sons of Anarchy just as much if not more than Jax. I would imagine this season ends with Clay "getting his" (oh God, did I just use that phrase in this thread?), and Jax ascending to President with the goal of returning the Sons to the partially-respectable club of their past. This would, however, mean that Jax doesn't "get out" of the club as he clearly wishes.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) Except 2k5 posted this morning that Rose pulled out? I'm talking about the "Hoops for Troops" he's been participating in, and prior to that his dealings overseas for Adidas. It's been a blast to follow. I'm not talking about this moronic set of exhibition games that are going to be played.

2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
A source has reportedly told Ken Berger of CBSSports.com that the owners and players are "inching closer to a deal." Meanwhile, a source tells Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio that the two sides "are very determined. They're close." We've seen signs of optimism before only to have them squashed, but we'll be watching the aftermath of Wednesday's meeting very closely in hopes that something positive will come out of it.

He's exceptional at his job. They should just have him covering this awesome Derrick Rose World Tour. Following D-Rose on Facebook has been incredibly fun.
