If you believe that God makes everything happen for a reason, the world doesn't seem so f***ed up, maybe the biggest tragedy in someway is something that we can learn from and make the world a better place. The fact that the world is f***ed up shouldn't cause us to turn our backs to God, it should just make us get closer so we can help heal the world...I don't have much practice preaching, but hopefully I got my point across.

It was the one where the kid is like 'stalking' that girl he likes, but not so much in a creepy way like 'stalking' makes it sound. Then finally he goes to her place and stands underneath her window holding a boombox and he plays Peter Gabriel..."In your eyes...In the light and the heat...your eyes...I am complete...in your eyes" I can't think of the title of that movie...it is drivin me nuts like funky blue medinah

American Idol and Search for America's Sexiest people you could argue are not mindless tv. American Idol is a talent search, just a televised won, so I don't see why you would call it mindless...personally I don't like it because Paula Abdul is past her prime(though hot for her age) and I don't like the music they sing. America's Sexiest people would have a stronger arguement, but as long as Miss. America pageants are not mindless, then why isn't this. I just have to say I have seen sexier women then the ones on this show...so why are they on the show if I have seen sexier?

Don't criticize our TV. It is part of our culture, like it or not. Even you watch The Simpsons, The Sopranos, Adult Swim, CSI, SNL, South Park...how could you not, they are all great shows. And what do you mean when you talk about advertising making our culture look good? I am not sure I understand the point you are trying to get across

I will take on your jabs one at a time I was in London last winter and was verbally assulted when I emerged from a subway station or the "underground" as they call it. When I came up the stairway there was an anti-war in Afghanistan parade. I heard "f***in Americans" enough to make my blood boil. I intentionally read things from an opposite point of view everyday...on this message board. I read things written by Apu, and yourself. Most of your views are on the opposite end of the spectrum compared to my own. Except when it comes to the Sox, of course. I am well aware of the term "ugly american"(I heard it in London), and I don't consider myself to be ugly. As for Beavis and Butthead, I loved that show when I was younger...used to watch it everyday at 6pm on MTV with my brother. Beavis and Butthead "Do America" was a great movie...up their with my favirotes "Braveheart" and "Major League". Yet, I do not dream of becoming Beavis and Butthead, I only want their T-Shirts. Now CWSOX I want to know how much of the opposing view are you aware of...I hear and watch liberal media every night (Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, occacionally MSNBC), and I read the New York Times everyday...what do you read and watch from the opposite view? Do you listen to Hannidy on the radio? or Rush Limbaugh? Anyway on a less heated note, the 1997 Michigan vs. Ohio St. game was on ESPN Classic today. I was flipping back and fourth between that and the Sox. It was sweet seeing Woodson run back that kick. Sometimes I enjoy being sick, because I get to stay in and watch so much ESPN classic. cheers to Classic Michigan Football By the way comic book guy on the Simpsons would call this "the longest post...ever"

What happened to the Asensio that walked 4 sox hitters on 16 pitches last year... ...I want that Miguel Asensio on the hill. I remember last year Cleveland started 11-1. Look where it took them

fastball touches 95, good breaking stuff. Noone has ever questioned his stuff, he has just always been to damn inconsistent...win one lose one win one lose won...maybe this is the year he puts it all together

I posted this exact same thing in another thread regaurding the Guardian, but it is appropriate in this thread to, so I shall post it again: I will never believe anything that comes out of London...there news media is extremely Liberal. Of course anything from another country is going to be anti-american. But London, possibly even all of Britain, is so anti-U.S. policy it sickens me...But when upset, we can always remind those limeys on the isle who won the revolutionary war.

I would stock up on the D and the o-line, and draft Kingsbury late. Then acquire some garbage qb either a veteran past his prime, or a young gun that never panned out(akili smith)...then you hope the D carries you into the postseason, and the offense overachieves, otherwise you play for next season. I know we are all sick of waiting till next year, but I think things are coming together so that this could be a good bears team down the road

Speaking of Scott Eyre, how many garbage lefty relievers did we have in the late 90's? Larry Thomas, Scott Eyre,Tom Fordham,Tod Rizzo, Bryan Ward, Dave Lundquist are the first names that pop into my head. Also whatever happened to Pat Daneker, I saw him have a decent start for the Sox in 99 and never heard his name again after...he must have really fallen off the face of the earth?

Stop the citations, I can sum up everything in 5 words: This is a just war...there I said it, now the truth is out. Today on TV I saw that 12 year old kid that lost his arms, his skin, and his entire family. Those are the sickening images that make me draw back momentarily from my Pro War stance. I have posted before that the war is good because it makes for great tv...well after seeing that kid it made me think of how lucky I have it to be enjoying my teenage years here in the U.S. making light of war, and making popcorn to eat while watching the bombing on tv, while this poor kid has lost it all. So I would like to apologize for my "great tv" statement...it is sickening now that I think about it. It makes me kind of wish that we could just forget all of this political garbage, win the war quickly, and restore peace...so hopefully images like this will not be seen again in the future. On a lighter note I love Apu's sig picture of Chirac and the westside affiliation, that is hilarious

Actually Apu, this is Clintons fault. If he had just wasted Saddam's regime when they kicked out the inspectors in 1998, this would be overwith. Instead all that Clinton did was hit them with a few dozen cruise missles. By the way, we should have precedence over anything the UN charter says. We are the fricken spine of that whole orginization. Like it or not Apu, the US has to be the world's super power or else anarchy would rule. Without us the UN would be some fat old men trying to intimidate countries with threats. Because of the US, the UN actually has firepower to have some influence on the world. And then the UN turns its fricken back on the US. Some balls those UN diplomats have...they park where ever they want in NYC without getting fines because they are diplomats, and then they act like pricks. The U.S. is supreme Apu, and it is nice to see we are finally taking charge and showing the rest of the world what happens when you dick around with the US

WS2K3 is Sega release, EA sports is MVP...ACCLAIM is ASB and I don't know who makes High Heat

Way to let him decide Apu...you just influenced the poor kids opinion by putting in that part about the WTO being in the pockets of multinational corps. C'mon, I wouldn't have thought a liberal that criticizes fox would act hypocritical...boy was I wrong. Pretty soon WSC is going to start posting socialist stuff, all because you gave him your opinion as a fact

Go with Syracuse...Beoheim and Carmello Anthony are going to pull this one out, plus I just can't pick Kansas. The fact that their two big stars are white, does not bode them well in the basketball world. Unless, they get to the freethrow line that is

At least this is a good catch-22. It is always better when you are struggling to decide which player to send down, than which you have to rush up.

Does anybody know if those two old ladies with all the pins in their hats still go to the games. When my family shared season tix we used to see them all the time. Since we moved I haven't seen them on TV (sometimes I could spot them on tv because of all the pins in their hats), even when I have gone back to the games I haven't seen them. There seats were in section 139. It just wasn't a sox game without seeing the old ladies and their pins. Anybody know who I am talking about?

I think it is incorrect to say that ERA is a meaningless stat. There is no arguing that a pitcher that goes 2-20 with a 2.90 ERA is better than Dan Wright. No matter the W-L. When comparing pitchers, the records don't matter because they only shows you how good the team's offense is. For Example Tim Hudson was 18-9 with a 3.37 ERA in 2001. Last year he went 15-9 2.98. I would take last years tim Hudson of the two years, because his ERA proves he was more effective last year. That is not to say ERA can't be decieving. Dan Wrights ERA was atrotious in the first half, and his record matched it. In the second half though, Wright had a good record and a better ERA, unfortunately his ERA was not good enough though to make up for the terrible first half. So his ERA finished at 5.18, which doesn't show how well he pitched in the second half. Plus, it is unfair to give his job away to Josh Stewart, without even letting him fight for it, as some have implied they would like to see. Yes, W-L are more important than individual players, but Wright has to be given and will be given an oppurtunity.

Sorry, Mooch, but I am pretty sure Sega doesn't put games out on Gamecube...I may be wrong though. I want a game where the scores will be like 2-1 for all the games, if this is the case should I get ASB? Please no biased opinions please. Tell it like Fox News would, truthfully.
