When do we rotate the DH? That's good for a few runs, right? -

I'm going to start an anti-drug campaign. "Be like Juan Pierre. Never be on base." -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) Nice our DH is up third. We should get some production here! More importantly, our 5 hole hitter! -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) My name is Jordan4life, and I like watching Evan Longoria play baseball. The end. What a game. I'm so glad I watched it instead of Yankees-Red Sox. Actually, I'll probably watch the end of that one too.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 12:38 AM) Today was just heaven. I guess Comcast/Direct TV is giving everybody a free sample of the Extra Innings package for the first week of the season. I've been watching baseball all day. I need more. I don't want to stop. I'm like a feening crackhead. Baseball, baseball, give me more baseball! I want some more f***ing baseball! This. If I had extra innings year-round, I'd end up dropping out of school.

The next great pitching motion.....
MattZakrowski replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in The Diamond Club
That would be nearly impossible with meter pitching, just saying. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 01:59 AM) Imagine how Cleveland fans feel. Like booing most likely.

No wonder why Brian Anderson could never hit...

QUOTE (qwerty @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 09:35 AM) A while back I rated cryptviLL a 1 star. Shortly after i get a comment in my profile that he says ''Rated you a 1 star''. I laughed. He is far and away the leader in profile views, for what reason, i couldn't tell you why. Cryprvill has 1,327 views, 575 more than the next person, soxace. Are you sure? I can see it. I got the raring since the comment. Passive aggressive begging to be rated apparently is worth a 3.

I don't even have a star rating...

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 05:49 PM) At this point it'd be more interesting to follow a random accountant from H&R Block than Ozzie's twitter. Example So, where's the random accountant's twitter post at?

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) Pitching comes too easy to me, even on the hardest difficulty levels. That's why I'm doing batting. I started all over again as I didn't know, simming a season is career suicide since you won't meet any of your goals and you'll end up a utility player or cut. Since the Sox don't need a 3B, I ended up signing with the Reds as a 3B/2B-SS. Very fun and lots of putouts, but challenging defensively. I started out hitting .119, but have upped my average in three games to .174. For hitting, anyone know the tips and what to increase first that will allow me to improve fast? It's funny because they also had me play some catcher too. I think it's BS that they don't give you points for calling the pitches and getting strikeouts. First two hitters ended up with backward K's, the last one ended up K'ing on a ball in the dirt. Power. Power changes everything. Once you can leave the yard at a reasonable clip, you draw a ton more walks, and it makes the hitting process much much easier.

How many games will this team win in 2010?

QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 11:18 PM) I know I met get flamed for this but we have the pitching staff to win 100 games. If we can win 4 games a week on average, it certainly is possible. While I don't think they will win 100 games, it is possible. A realistic win total though is about 87-91 I think. ...and the offense to win 75. I have us at 82-85 wins. -
Quentin hits 40 Homers, finishes in top 5 MVP voting. Pierre is caught stealing 25 times. Jenks maintains closer role, but performs poorly most of the season. Floyd emerges as the staff ace, on the strength of a more consistent curveball. Teahen is replaced by Morel by July 1. Andrew Jones has over 500 PAs, and performs adequately. Mark Kotsay stays bad.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 27, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) Really it is just the spring training for the fans who are getting into midseason freak out form. But I don't think fans today need such an extensive spring training to get ready. I've been freaking out abut the DH situation on my own since January. I've been freaking out about giving a terrible hitter the most PAs on the team since December. Needless to say, I'm ready for the season.

Ugh, playing for the Nationals is terrible. They're so bad. At least the parks nice (and good for HR's). I also think it's cool that they have a sign to keep track of the number of fans at each game.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 03:51 AM) Billingsley's good but he doesn't go without red flags. All of his peripherals got worse (not by much, but they did), and a career WHIP of 1.38 doesn't exactly scream dominant to me. He's good, but he gets grouped in with the Gavin Floyds and Nick Blackburns of the league, not the Tim Lincecums and Felix Hernandez's. Gavin Floyd's peripherals were really good last year.

Soxtalk Keeper League 2 Info

If anyone's interested, I'm looking to move Dan Uggla. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) Kotsay could be batting 7th and Pierre 9th, and I would still say the bottom of our order is weak. I will also predict that if Ozzie tries to play Kotsay 4 times a week, he will be on the DL for an extended period. Here's hoping.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) Why? Kotsay will hit righties very well. This is what he was brought on the team to do. People need to stop saying he hits righties well, because it's not true. Career .290/.347/.419, .330 wOBA vs RHP So unless you honestly believe a 34 year old player is going to substantially outperform his career averages, the best we could hope for is league average. League average includes catchers and shortstops and Brian Anderson, so this is bad for a DH.
