Maybe Adkins could have made it through the 16th if the umpire doesn't blow the call at first base (and honestly, it was too close to legitimately call it a "blown call") for the non-DP, but if the Sox couldn't manage a run in those extra innings, they didn't deserve to win that game.

This here's a statement series. We can't let them have any hope. Go Sox!

Hey, there were some pretty bad calls last night, but I don't think that any of those calls affected the ultimate result of the game. The Sox hitters struggled against a very good pitcher in Mussina. Overall, I'm worried about the offense. We need to hit the ball more, give our pitchers some breathing room if a few calls don't go our way.

It's sad, but the buyout is the right thing to do. Frank, with his age and injury status, isn't worth $10 million. But this doesn't foreclose the possibility of the Sox re-signing him for a lesser amount after the buyout, as GreatScott said.

It's unfortunate, but it's starting to look like season ticket holders are going to have to tell the people they give tickets to that it's for their own use, not for resale, and so on. It sucks that it has come to a situation like that one.

How soon before the book's author is smeared on Fox News? The over/under is currently at 6 seconds....

I'm upset at all the media coverage about this non-story, but for a different reason. Look at all the real news that is being ignored! Hello? Karl Rove committed treason, but that's getting swept under the rug. The war in Iraq is going miserably, but they're not reporting on that.
