  1. I don't know what the Vegas line for the total is, but I don't think it matters. Take the under.
  2. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) Yes they are different things. She was responding to my post about the unused ticket trade-in thing (called Season Ticket Exchange Date on the website), so she was on-track with that. I actually asked about both things earlier in the thread. Indeed, that is true. So, does anyone know the answer to my original question? If I were to sell a pair of tickets on the White Sox Ticket Exchange, this means I don't know who the buyer is. If that buyer turns out to be some drunken idiot who starts a fight in the stands, am I going to be held responsible? I can't imagine that I would, given that the Sox' website seems not to allow us to screen who buys the tickets. But I want to make sure I don't put myself in a position where I have to trust someone I have never met not to cost me my season tickets.
  3. QUOTE(LauraJ14 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) I have the weekend plan, when you get your tickets, you get a form that has the exchange dates on it. The thing is you can't exchange tickets until the game you have tickets for is played. So if you have tickets for a game in April that you can't go to, you send them in with the form for a game later in the year. Although you have to pay something for the tickets for the new game, I don't remember how much though. I think we're talking about different things. I was looking at the Sox website, and there's something called the White Sox Ticket Exchange (https://secure.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/cws/ticketing/ticket_exchange.jsp) which allows season ticket holders to sell some of their season tickets online. Then, there was what you're talking about, which is if you don't use one of your tickets, and don't sell it to anyone, you can exchange the unused ticket for an upper-deck ticket to a future game. Maybe they need to change the name of one program, since it's sort of confusing.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) FWIW, lots of people sell their extra tickets through here and have had tons of success doing so. We actually set up an areas specifically for stuff like that if you are interested. Its the swapmeet board towards the bottom of the mainpage on Soxtalk if you are interested. I'm definitely going to look into that, too. I just don't want to be in a situation where I sell tickets to someone that I don't know, and that person turns out to be William Ligue, Jr.
  5. So, I just pulled the trigger and sent in a deposit for 2 tickets in the Lower Reserved sections. I chose the Double-play (weekend game) plan. Hopefully, they'll be calling me soon to work out the specifics. For you season ticket holders, have you used the White Sox Ticket Exchange before? It seems like a good way to sell unused season tickets. Never having been a season ticket holder before, I've heard the horror stories of someone selling their tickets to someone they don't know, the buyer acting like a jerk at the game, and costing the seller their season tickets for the rest of the year. Would you be on the hook for that if you sold your tickets through the White Sox Ticket Exchange? Looking forward to seeing lots of games in 2006!
  6. This is great news! You can put it on the board, YES!!!
  7. http://www.chicagotribune.com/travel/sns-a...epagetravel-hed Alas, the chunk of marble didn't land on Justice Scalia.
  8. I'm going to miss Rowand. He is one of my favorite players. Even so, the more I look at this deal, the more it makes sense for the Sox. Worst case scenario is Thome being hurt and unable to play. If that happens, then this is a terrible trade. Best case scenario is Thome staying healthy and putting up numbers like the ones he put up in CLE. Most likely scenario, in my opinion, is Thome playing at DH and putting up decent numbers, with Herm keeping him in playing shape for the large majority of the season. I think this puts the Sox in a position of flexibility, and makes them better-able to respond if they are (God forbid) unable to resign Konerko. Kenny isn't done making moves yet. After putting together the pieces like he did this past season, I'm willing to give KW the benefit of the doubt.

    XBox 360

It saddens me to say that I probably won't buy it. I just don't play the Xbox I have very much now. I think this means I'm getting old.
  10. QUOTE(timotime @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) are you all serious? i used to live in detroit, and still have many friends there. the city should be a-bombed and rebuilt. it's terrible. its my least favorite downtown of all downtowns. im not slamming the stadium. just cause i put it on the list doesnt mean i hate it. its just an option for someone to choose. also im talking about downtown in general, not the immediate area around comerica. that specific area is notorius for crime, however, i know that for a fact. just my personal experience. sorry if i offended anyone. Just asking- Is your last name Maloof by any chance? I haven't been to any of the parks in the poll except the Cell. From TV, I hate watching games played in the Hump-dome and Tropicana. They're soulless places. This is fun, though. I've been to- US Cellular Old Comiskey Wrigley Miller Park (and liked it a lot) Pro Player Stadium (lousy baseball stadium) Rogers Centre (called SkyDome at the time) SBC Park (Formerly PacBell) (This one gets an asterisk because no game was going on at the time) In 2001, I was all set to see the White Sox play the Yankees at Yankee Stadium, but the game was not played. I'll have to go back sometime.
  11. I'm going to put my TiVo into overdrive for these!
  12. Please, oh, please let them not be able to reproduce! Actually, that's only sort of green.
  13. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) I actually have several friends that are really conservative Christians. No pre-marital sex, no swearing, church every Sunday, volunteer, etc. And they TRULY TRULY TRULY act with love and Christian compassion to their neighbors. They rarely if ever get any guff from the "lefties." Who gets the guff? The "sinless" ones that throw the first stone. The ones would would rather tell you that you're going to hell before turning the other cheek. You hit the nail right on the head. Great post! As for those of you who are complaining about Green Day's album title: Don't buy it. If it comes on the radio, change the station.
  14. Looks like Paxson made the right call.
  15. I don't want to see the NFL expand, for starters. There aren't even 32 good starting QB's in the league. How many more teams are there going to be with starting QB's with the skills of Brooks Bollinger, Kyle Boller, or JP Losman? LA doesn't deserve an NFL team. They can't seem to keep one there for very long.
  16. Holmes going on IR puts a big hurt (not to be confused with The Big Hurt) on my fantasy football team....
  17. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) See, what you do is you let her have the baby, find a good home for him/her, then shoot the mom and dump her body in a garbage dump. Simple solution really. Hard to argue with that....

    10 Grand!

That there's a lot of posts....
  19. Seems to me that the best response is- "2005 World Series Champions, the Chicago White Sox."
  20. It kind of feels like we're playing on house money right now. I wonder what I'll feel like in March and April....
  21. Is he back on WLUP 97.9? If not, what station? This is great news!
  22. I have no idea how this would work with the rights involved, but on the DVD set, I would love to be able to choose the soundtrack for the play-by-play. I had to listen to Buck and McCarver live; it would be great to have Rooney and Farmer calling the game on the DVDs. You could switch between soundtracks in the DVD options.... Just my two cents....
  23. I voted for El Duque, but Tadahito's homer off of Wells was a close second in my mind.
  24. I knew that there was something special about this team!!! Glad to be a part of this great board!
