QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 09:43 PM) Again how is being ranked close to last in just about every offensive statistic considered mediocre. Ill tell you what, if this offense truly was mediocre our defense would look a TON better, as it is like you said they ranked in top3. Im not going to argue anymore, I just dont understand how outside of two games, one vs an 0-15 team and the other we still turned the ball over a ton, you can consider the offense overachieving. Its overachieving based on expectations and based on what the numbers appear to be. We have a rookie RB, shotty OL, nothing close to a legit WR and an unproven QB who appears to be regressing as the season goes on, yet were tied for the division lead. If they werent exceeding expectations we would be scoring 10 points a game and only have a couple wins. Its pretty basic stuff here. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 09:07 PM) You aren't really claiming the two western division are better than the NFC North are you? Because that's just silly, the NFC and AFC West this year are two of the worst divisions in the history of professional athletics. The NFC North is really bad, but it's not on the level of those two. I was hoping someone would chime in on this. I think the NFC West is the worst by far but I think the AFC West is pretty brutal as well. The NFC North looks worse because of the Lions but the Bears/Vikes and even Pack on occasions are all legitimate teams. -

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 05:31 PM) The Bears play in a terrible division with terrible overrated players. Urlacher is done and he should've never got that contract, Harris got paid and hasn't cared, Brown and Ogunleye are still decent, Mark Anderson hasn't been able to match his production from his rookie year, Tank Johnson is still being missed. Their secondary is atrocious. To expect Hester to continue being able to return TD's like it's nothing is unrealistic. Remember when DeAngelo Hall was all the rage? Where is he now? Excellent returners don't last. Hester is still dynamic and should still return kicks, but to say, "He only has one TD return" is being irresponsible as a fan of football. Hell didn't TB have a streak going where no one returned a kick for a TD? The Bears WR core is still pretty terrible. I see nothing but 3rd rate receivers. Hester should be a 3rd receiver, Booker a 4th, Olsen should be starting fulltime at TE with no splitting duties. Orton IMO is still not the answer, but he could be decent with good receivers around him. The problem is, the Bears offense isn't even interesting enough for top receivers. I still think firing Terry O'Shea was a mistake because those games Rex QB'd in that year, the offense was excellent and efficient. Youre proving my point, after all that and theyre still tied for the lead in the division. Its not the worst division in football either, its not even the second worst. Those are out west. -

Dont get me wrong, Im fed up with the WHOLE coaching staff, but it should say something that the fans basically want the HC, OC and DCs heads on a stick and yet we have 9 wins and are tied for the division lead with what appears to be a terrible offense, an unmotivated aging defense and only one return td which isnt from Hester. Looking at our sack totals, offensive numbers etc you would think the Bears would only have a couple wins at this point. -

Coughlin isnt the type of coach that will lay down at they end of the year. Jacobs might get some rest, but they are gonna be playing at full strength. Theyre not going to want to lay down this game and then have a bye. -

Let me sum up my third place game by saying, I had Dereck Ward...to his Brandon Jacobs. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 20, 2008 -> 09:20 PM) I thought Bomber was being sarcastic. I've seen Flacco miss some wide open WR's and hold the ball too long. I was being sarcastic. I think Flacco is severely overrated. Im on record wanting Otah. -

Check twice before you hit send on that text!!
DrunkBomber replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in SLaM
Looking at the actual text I dont see what would have been so hard about saying something like, I meant it was the first time I was at a beach, or first time I went parasailing or first time I went snorkeling or I was being sarcastic and saying its lame because we go to the beach all the time. If you cant spin this as a kid you have problems. -
Iraqi "journalist" throws shoes at Bush

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 15, 2008 -> 07:18 PM) I was exaggerating. In fact, I think detaining anyone (citizen or terrorist) on US controlled soil without the ability to hear the evidence against them is against American Principles and Gitmo detainees should stand a fair tribunal and be cut loose if there is no proof against them. I never voted for Bush, but he's my president. I will be the first to say the War in Iraq was a TRAGIC mistake, and he should be judged accordingly based on that mistake. That being said, there is no situation where I approve of someone throwing a blunt object at him. This reporter may have been making a "statement" but I just don't care. Maybe its nationalistic, but I don't want anyone to try to harm, or embarrass my president -- no matter who it is -- for any reason. I will feel this exact same way on January 20th when President Obama takes office. Well said. -
This is a terrible idea. My thoughts scare me, I dont want anyone else seeing them. Just wait until they start using this to solve crimes and stuff.

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 07:39 PM) appreciated? Lol, that would be my guess.

I normally listen to Mike and Mike. Ive started listening to Howard on Sirius since they merged with XM and all my shows were shuffled around.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 7, 2008 -> 06:59 PM) Dick LeBeau is amazing. Arguably the best DC in the history of the NFL, and the sole reason for the Steelers being 10-3 right now. Tomlin just stands in the sideline and either claps when things are going bad or chest bumps his players. Thank God for the Rooney rule. Wow -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 11:36 AM) It's the only source I have used for the last 3 years. Considering my Sprint Navigation on my phone is wrong more times than it's right, it'll probably stay that way until they finally upgrade the software. I have the instinct and the navigation always seems to be off. Mainly, it tells you to turn the wrong way on the last turn or two. Its pretty ridiculous. I still love the phone though.

I hated him as a player here but he didnt say anything bad. Im glad hes gone, but his comments dont warrant anything.

QUOTE (Mr. Showtime @ Dec 6, 2008 -> 03:23 PM) Say, has anyone else heard that they are coming out with a re-make of Punch Out for the Wii? Looks to have most of the same characters, LITTLE MAC~!~!, Glass "f***ing" Joe, and Mr. Hippo, all in the game. I'm looking forward to this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punch-Out!!_(Wii)

Plaxico Burress accidentally shoots himself in the leg
DrunkBomber replied to Kyyle23's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Whenever his suspension is up there will be teams lined up to sign him. He is a rare, freakish talent. However, he is a POS as a teammate but that wont stop him from getting another chance. Hell, Mike Vick will get another chance. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 1, 2008 -> 06:43 AM) I think the long waits are at extremely popular places. I envision something like a dance club with s***ty techno music blaring. And in regards to getting free rounds, that happens a lot in smaller bars. I have gotten free rounds or shots at a lot of different places. If you take care of them, they take care of you.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Nov 30, 2008 -> 10:36 PM) Tiebreaker is division record. I want to say each team has two losses in the division right now. The Packers actually have the edge in division games because they split with Minny and beat us but theyre a game back of us still and 2 behind Minny. Us being able to beat Green Bay in Chicago would be huge. the Vikings have 3 tough games and will be without the Williams's more than likely.
