  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 12:21 PM) Joel ShermanVerified account ‏@Joelsherman1 Told #Redsox are NOT discussing Sale #whitesox SO, they are discussing quintana...and maybe if they package him with Robertson/frazier...we get the top 4 since they now have a 3B too. And we can focus on LAD w a Sale/Shields for Puig, Urias, DeLeon, Verdugo, Calhoun, Barnes package
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) One would assume Hahn is a good multi-tasker... When Hahn applied for the job, the job description said "must be a good multi-tasker" right below the other requirements of: "flexibility to travel when needed" and "ability to lift 5 lbs"
  3. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) Maybe the Sox have no real interest in moving Q or Sale. Obviously you listen to offers for them and explore what teams are willing to give up, but this might just be posturing by the Sox. Weren't the Sox already offered a supposed king's ransom for Sale? Would give my left nut to see exactly who was on the table in that supposed trade. If I had to guess it was a package around Profar and Gallo by Texas...a king's ransom based on reputation and prospect rankings. Fine if we were trading just any player but a low ball for Chris Sale
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:52 AM) Jayson StarkVerified account ‏@jaysonst A source who said yesterday the chances of Chris Sale getting dealt were under 5 percent says again this morning "under 5 percent" This is perfectly played by Hahn. Keep telling these teams you won't budge because you truly don't have to. The worst team in baseball this year is interested in a Chris Sale trade tells you all you need to know. We do not have to move him but we have somehow made him available. Now, the ball is in your court and if you want him, come get him...you know the price.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) The first person I would budge on is kopach honestly. agreed. Moan, Ben, Devers and then whatever else is thrown in
  6. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) I would be beyond thrilled if the Sox could get both Benintendi and Moncada for Sale. Seems like an absolute pipedream, however. I think this is the sticking point and reason why no deal will get done. Our Sox want both, but Boston ain't gonna do it. Until they will...tick tock
  7. I think DD will cave. Hahn's negotiation started with the major league ball club (Boegarts, Betts and most realistically JBJ) and some prospects or the 5 top prospects. His "settle" point is your 4 top prospects: moancada, benintendi, devers and kopech. Take it or leave it. I do think they have traction on Q for the last three names and discussion is that if you want an "upgrade" to Sale, you include Moancada.
  8. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:06 AM) Complication w/Moncada is @RedSox having invested $63 million in bonus and taxes to sign him. Puts him in separate category. https://twitter.com/philgrogers/status/760129399568101376 Fine then give us boegarts lol
  9. QUOTE (FT35 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 10:03 AM) The point is this...I didn't report a trade. I saw a tweet on a credible source's page, and thought to post it here where people are talking about tweets on credible source's pages. I know what I saw, I'm not posting from a mental institution. I made no claim of it's validity, I simply thought it was interesting enough to share. Apparently this is a different crowd who would rather throw stones than discuss. No, I think you misunderstood. We like the sharing and really no one came at you too strongly about it and the reaction was just a bit bizarre...bananas and DVDs and what not...that's all. Keep at it and continue to share.
  10. Heyman has been the one tweeting abt BoSox ChiSox and says talks hv occurred recently and white sox looking for 4 spects from Boston including top 3...moancada, Ben, devers
  11. QUOTE (FT35 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 09:56 AM) I'm sure it was just a fabrication of my mind. I occasionally see random paragraphs of text on my computer screen for no reason at all. I read and comprehend the content that is pertaining to today's events even though they do not exist. Hey...gotta go, I am going to eat this banana that just popped out of my DVD drive. I'll make sure to post more delusional content later. What a bizarre dude
  12. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 11:14 PM) To echo everyone else, no. It's bad enough they won't give up Moncada. It's Benintendi package or no deal. I think they budge because they need Quintana. Their staff as is is bad enough. To me, it's both or no deal. You can keep your killer Bs in the ML lineup and if we're not touching your major league team, you're giving up the top of the farm or buzz off
  13. I think silence is the best thing right now. It means all the posturing through the media is done and only serious discussions w serious teams taking place. That being said, I think Q, Robertson and Shields get dealt before the deadline. Someone will pony up for Q is my pure guess.
  14. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2653900...ockbuster-trade Not sure if this was posted on BR by one of our members but thought it had some good analysis on each of the serious teams' prospects in a Sale package.
  15. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 05:30 PM) Hopefully not a team in the Sale/Q sweepstakes. More likely a team scouting Gonzalez or Shields
  16. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 04:54 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan #WhiteSox VP Ken Williams: 'To say we’re going to be buyers or sellers or some combination, we just don’t know.' Good stuff Kenny. Let me help you Kenny. You are selling older, high priced pieces that are not under team control for awhile and buying prospects that project to be good hitters. P.S. Please don't offer your advice on our targets as it appears "the" Carlos Quentin is out of the league.
  17. http://www.vivaelbirdos.com/2016/7/26/1228...e-jose-quintana This article seems to quantify Q value ($99 mill) vs. Sale value ($110 mill)
  18. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 05:08 PM) Talking about Sale is dumb because Chicago isn't moving him, unless it for was Boegarts AND Betts which would never happen. Fixed
  19. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) It's a shame that an innocent 14 year old boy had to go through this debacle. Hopefully everyone eventually learns something from this mess and becomes better for it. Drake LaRoche will have the last laugh when Kenny Williams Jr., assistant scout to the President of Operations, tries to draft and sign him in the first round of the 2023 amateur player draft...either that or he'll be putting his Sylvan diploma to use as CEO of Roachy Meats
  20. Borrowing from Occam's Razor where the simplest explanation is likely the most plausible, here is what probably happened: Rick Hahn, the smartest man in the room, decided he would kill 2 birds with one stone. He set up Kenny to fall on the sword by playing on his emotions about players thinking he is weak. He also wanted LaRoche out of here and knew the only thing to send him packing would be the son angle. So Rick decided to go to Kenny and float "no player will say it but they don't like having Drake around" and "they wish you, Kenny, would step in but he don't think you have the guts to". Knowing Kenny would create a maelstrom and personalize the issue to himself...which now he can't revert back from, Rick will soon have full GM power and $13 million to spend on a championship roster.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Jerry Crasnick ‏@jcrasnick 2m2 minutes ago A source said chances of Carlos Gonzalez being traded this week are "30-70.'' #Rockies need a better offer to take the plunge. Lol, is that better or worse than 50-50?
  22. QUOTE (AlSoxfan @ Feb 6, 2015 -> 06:27 PM) .354 58 149...lol old Price is Right watcher...lol Honestly he should do real well with R.B.I's this year and I think his #'s will be better than last yrs. Touché, since you clearly overbid, I'm changing mine to .001 1 hr 1 RBI
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 01:46 AM) Except the main way that happens is the White Sox fail to live up to expectations and they have to peddle Samardzija, LaRoche, Duke and Robertson...along with Alexei and Danks. That's about the last thing that we should want to happen. There's a big difference between dumping DeAza/Beckham/Dunn/Viciedo and having to sell off one of our new core pieces six or seven months down the line. I think we are kinda saying the same thing. My point is we give up some talent to improve our staff. If gamble fails, we can sell Shark and probably get even better talent back.
