Birmingham lost 5-4 in 11 innings. Link (0-1, 1.93) took the loss. It's the first run Link has given up this year. Nanita: 3-5, 2B, 3 rbi http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...biraax_cngaax_1

The Graduate made my list too. It's a favorite of mine and if I were to make a list of my favorite movies of any genre, that's in the top ten. As FlaSoxxJim stated it's a dark comedy. The humor is not bust-a-gut funny, but in a biting satire kinda way. I think the movie perfectly reflected the time but probably seems very dated to any other later generation.

The Sox Tigers brawl was classic. But, going way back to 1955 or so, the Walt Dropo-Enos Slaughter fight has got to be mentioned. Larry Doby was nearly beaned setting off that brawl. Also, the Ed Farmer-Al Cowens fight was pretty neat, resulting in a warrant for Al Cowens' arrest.

Well, he only pitched 8.2 innings last year. I would assume he's going to have to prove something at Bristol before moving up.

QUOTE(scenario @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) Kanny won their game 6-2. Great outing by Anthony Carter. 6 innings; 3 hits; 2 runs; 7 strikeouts; 2 walks. Box score: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kanafx_capafx_1 Looks like just about everyone contributed to the scoring. Nice!

Why AM I here? I should be doing the dishes or something. Seriesly, I'm here (more time spent on Soxtalk than anywhere else on the internet) because being that I don't live in the Chicago area any more this place makes me feel like I do. I can keep atop all things White Sox and then some. Game threads are a blast whether they're in progress or reading it the next day because I missed the game. What I really am thankful for too is the Future board. I love catching up with the latest minor league affiliate news. Adopt A Prospect was a neat idea and I wish it were a little more lively. I also am appreciative of the opportunity to play fantasy sports with a bunch of fellow Sox fans. SLAM is fun because there's often some pretty interesting or really funny s*** in there. The only thing that ever drives me away from Soxtalk is the realization that I had better go do the frickin' dishes or some such thing.

I was born in '50 but I don't like beer so I wouldn't know. One time when Harry was doing a game from the centerfield bleachers I was sitting practically right next to him. It was very cool and yes he was drinking nearly the whole game.

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 08:25 AM) Whats with this community? Why all the sudden Crede hatred and the thinking that Fields is the next coming of God?! Sorry to break it to you guys, but Crede > Fields. This is no different than the endless BA, BMAC and countless other never-beens this community latches onto like a bunch of girls fawning over Hannah Montana. Give it a rest. Oh, and for the record, I like Fields, but I think Crede is better at this stage. Bravo! I'm puzzled too by all the Crede hatred/Fields worship. The Uribe hatred: well deserved. Oh, hatred is the wrong word, but I've had it with Uribe's weak stick. With the addition of Cabrera (and Alexi) I thought Juan was as good as gone. There is no need for him.

http://www.projo.com/redsox/content/projo_...ox.584eb64.html If this isn't the coolest promotional idea I don't know what is. I don't care if it would be copying the Red Sox, but the White Sox should do this. Imagine in mid-summer while the Sox are on the road if there was a doubleheader featuring both the Knights and any one of the other affiliates at the Cell. Hello, Brooks!

That Was a Good Game... The Positive Postgame Thread
BigEdWalsh replied to hi8is's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well, there was a lot to be ticked off about, but there were plenty of positives. Thome of course and how about Masset?! Nick allowed us to be able to claw back into the game and whenever we lose but have the tying run at the plate, all can't be bad. I'm not all that upset, and hey the Cubs lost, so did the Tigers...yay!!! -

As already mentioned, The Natural, Field of Dreams and Pride of the Yankees are all classics. Another couple of my favorites that haven't been mentioned are Bang the Drum Slowly, It Happens Every Spring and The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars And Motor Kings.
