Likewise. For my list, I took into account what they did when they played in Chicago and for long. The one and only exception, Dick Allen who of course was only here a few years. But, he revitalized a dying franchise.

I always hated Chuck Swirsky since way back when he was with WGN. He just strikes me a real numbskull. Well, I can't listen to Bulls games on the radio anymore so at least I don't have to hear his stupid voice. It's not good for radio, that's for sure.

Kanny is underway, scoreless after 2. Carter with 3 Ks. Edit: Luis Sierra with a 2 run homer in the 3rd provided Carter with a 2-0 lead. Carter surrendered a 2 run homer though in the 4th. Game tied 2-2. Carter has 6 Ks - 0 BBs through 4.

I wish I could be there. As an older Sox fan, I saw Fisk play many times and even saw him hit a rooftop shot. He was one of my all-time favorites. When I used to work security at Grand Geneva Resort, Fisk was there for a sports celebrity golf tournament. I worked the third shift and one night I was doing my foot patrol walking hallways and Carlton Fisk was walking down the hallway toward me. I'm thinking' "Oh my God! It's Carlton Fisk!!". As we passed he smiled and said "Hi.", which is something that I should have done first but was too flustered to. I managed to say "hi" back though and continued my patrol. It was neat.

Birmingham won their game 13-5. The game was tied at 5 when the Barons exploded for 6 in the 7th inning. I don't see any humor in referring to a career minor leaguer as "a pile". I agree that there are young guys I'd rather see but sometimes you never know. What if Childers was a given a shot and he did well. Unlikely maybe, but who knows.

I was born and raised in the western suburbs where I spent the first 27 years of my life. I spent the next 28 years in Lake Geneva, WI. which wasn't so bad. I could still get the Sox on TV and radio and go to occasional games. In July 2005 I moved to Utah, a little south of Salt Lake City. Wouldn't you know it, I move away and the White Sox go to the World Series. It was kinda weird being so far from all the excitement. Thank god for Sox Talk. What is my salvation now is that the Great Falls Voyagers play a 4 game series in Orem every summer. I'm only 15 min. from the ballpark. At one game a couple of years ago the Orem Owlz mascot came and sat down beside me. He starts talking to me and wanted me to know that his dad was a hard core White Sox fan. It was kinda funny. I see AAA games in Salt Lake when I need a baseball fix. Oh, if only the Sox AAA affiliate was in the PCL again! Last summer I went back home to visit family and took in a Sox-Yankee game. Sox got clobbered but it was so awesome to be in the ballpark again. Out here there's predictably mostly Red Sox fans. Why on earth it is I don't get. People just want to be a part of the Red Sox nation experience I guess. Yeeeech. Lotsa Yankee and Cub fans too. Go figure. I proudly wear my White Sox hat everywhere every day. I do see an occasional person with a Sox hat or shirt. Pretty rare though. Joesaiditstrue, I love your avatar. It's hilarious and mesmerizing.
