QUOTE(mreye @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 07:05 AM) Actually, they're averaging 28,000+ this year. Oops! You are right, my post should have read that they are on pace to average OVER 25,000 for the first time in a decade.

Don't doubt the power of the almighty Crede Banner of you might raise its ire. Look what the Crede banner has done to the Royals ... ok , bad example. Look what the Crede banner did to Kerry Wood for mocking it. And look what happened to Martha Stewart after she mocked the Crede Banner.

QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) If you read this on WSI, in the thread I posted the schedule, it's total speculation. As far as I know, the road portion hasn't come out yet, nor have the 2006 home schedules of the Pirates, Reds, or Brewers. Do you know something we don't know? Any schedule at this time is specualtion and largely subject to change. My sources may be the same ones that posted on :puke WSI . I suppose all hope of a road trip to Milwaukee is not gone.

If the article bothers you, don't read it. Schools is back in and we are playing the friggin' Royals, the worst team in baseball. We are still on pace to average 25,000 this year, which is great for us. The game is won on the field not in this stand. This is proven by the fact that the Sox were playing horridly at homw with large crowds and better with small crowds. I suspect there is no correlation though.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) Where are the road games??? How do you know they are not in Milwaukee? We play the Pirates and Reds on the road.

Konerko will shock us all today and steal third right before he comes home on a passed ball by the sinker baller.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) Wow...opening at home again...2 years in a row...I was starting to think I'd never see the first time. Anyone else wondering whether sometime between June 20 to 25, we'll be seeing a world series rematch? I know we won't be seeing A WS rematch May 19-21

I suspect the Cardinals game will be in the premium pack like the Yanks and Red Sox since the Cards will draw a big crowd. I must say that I am disappointed that the sox won't be playing the Brewers. I try to go to a Brewers game each year and I love the park even if their team stinks. Would have loved to have seen the Sox going to Miller again. Can't we get the Brewers as a Rival and play them every year like the Cubs. They are only 90 miles away.

COUNT DOWN TO CLINCHING THE ALC!

Dam that's a lot of math. -
Shingo did have a few shut out innings with us this year. It was the five run innings in between that tried Ozzie's patience.

Ick! Eating crow? They don't have much meat on them. Besides, those birds are scavengers!

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) How about those White Sox? Some people debate of the semantics of this board way too much don't they. I thought we were all here to talk about the White Sox and because Soxtalk is the best place to do it.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) I wasn't trying to wash dirty laundry, I was trying to get perspective from Sox fans at the one other place I know, and where I've lurked. Also: I never mentioned the site by name. Merely "another Sox site." I've gotten enough feedback here and from others; I feel no remorse for what I posted. As for those who've posted IMO it was a history of this with me, two things: 1) When the team is sucking, the team is sucking. I certainly am not the only poster pointing this out. Posting problems can be tiresome if you don't post solutions, which is exactly what I did. 2) What are we supposed to post during dark periods like that? We go there to commiserate with other Sox fans. 3) A warning would have been nice, after a year participating there. Soxtalk is generally a great place. They are professional and most of the people here are great. The fews bad apples don't spoil the bunch.

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) You never disappoint. What was that about WSI...? Carry on.. I am glad you enjoy my posts

:sleep QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) I use the "f" word at WSI, and here, and I've never been banned there. I've also been negative, critical, and even at times I attack Henry - although he deserves it Yet I somehow manage to do all that within their "rules". It's not that hard, really. On another note.. they close and move any threads discussing Soxtalk or s***ting on the mods from here to their roadhouse to die. Some professional courtesy perhaps...

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) Here is something I posted right at the end of August, after the Texas series, on another board: This BETTER be a damn good homestand, because 1) I'm tired of watching them lose 2) I'm even MORE tired of watching them lose at home It's time to kick some Comedy Central ass. Look, having a crappy home record and winning on the road isn't going to do us much good when... we have home field advantage to start the playoffs. The bad news is: the 1st half team is AWOL. Where oh where are our little smallball, squeak-it-out, win-every-series wonders? The good news is: if that was the slump and we go on a tear in September, then the timing couldn't be better. Usually our collapse each year starts in August--we hang in there until the ASB, then the Twins juice us and by August we know we're toast. Just like last year. At least the year before with Loaiza's Big Year they managed to last until... September. And if I'm not mistaken, Loaiza's loss there in Minnesota was sort of the beginning of the end that year. So here we have it. Final month. Do or die. We either teach the division a lesson, or we give it up by Oct. 1st. Let's keep things in perspective: while everybody wants to win the WS, the first goal--face it, we didn't expect to be this good this fast--was to win the division, which we haven't been able to do for four years behind Minnesota. If we can get there, let's worry about everything else as it comes. First things first, though: people shouldn't distract themselves with WS fantasies and instead should focus on doing whatever it takes to win the division. Just a thought... After a year on the board, 600+ posts, I was denied access. As it turned out, the moderator had gone into the post and added these comments: Enjoy it from your sofa, because you won't be here. First things first... farewell. And you're welcome. Relieving constant misery is our first responsiblity I emailed him asking him what was possibly inappropriate about this and pointing out that I've been a loyal poster for that long (and big-time promoter of the board). No response. I've been here a couple of times, but I need to hear from Sox fans what would be offensive about this, or inappropriate. I'm a diehard who's been to 37 games this season thus far. Remember this was right before September started, and obviously we've started to do just what I said we needed to since then. And now I'm here, which is fine. I like what I see. Hopefully I won't get my ass kicked out of here with no warning! Some mods are drunk with power. Considering that I have seen Mods tossing the F-word around like candy at a parade, I feel bad for you. I hope you have a better experience this time.

I could be bad for team karma if we let this post get off of the first page so I will post in it again. Long live the Joe Crede banner!
-
Sox probably won't be swinging as good of wood tonight. Sox will only win 4-1, YESSS!
-
Just think, we not only have Brandon McCarthy instead of an injured Griffey for the stretch run, but we also have Jon Adkins who we are not even using. I bet the price to acquire Griffey this off season just went down. KW, PUT DOWN THE PHONE! Where will we play him?

Royals @ White Sox 9/6/2005
Greg The Bull Luzinski replied to WSoxMatt's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) There are few players I loathe like :puke Jose Lima. That being said we will score 6 runs off of Lima because we have the power of the Crede Banner on our side. At 2:42 before the game, I said the Sox would score 6 runs off of Lima. Can I call it or what?
