QUOTE(Chi Town Sox @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) If anyone can post some pictures of Ron Karkovice it would be greatly appreciated, a friend of mine is starting a Ron Karkovice Fan Day as a joke and putting it on a t-shirt. Sorry if this does not belong in this topic thanks alot He is your theme music for Karkovice day. Take the Creed song "My Sacrifice" (Yes Creed sucks) and change the words "My Sacrifice" to "Ron Karkovice".

Anybody notice Ross is hitting .370 in AAA? Sure we could use the good old Hawkism and ask "Where do we play him?", but Paulie nor Everett have been exactly clutch. I would have rather seen him in the outfield over Timo when Pods was hurt. One dropped flyball against the Cubs and everybody thinks he can't play the outfield. Though he is not exactly a gold glover. I suspect that if Konerko signs elsewhere after the season, Gload would likely be our starting 1B next year. Gload hit very well down the stretch last year. Judging by our current offensive anemia, I would say a change is due. Let's stop worrying about where to play KGJ (who will never come) and start thinking about where to play Gload. Get the hot bat some at-bats. Any reason why he should not at-least be on the big league club?

The most hated sox player ever

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 07:02 AM) I think it was ridiculous for Red Sox fans to hate Billy Buckner, and I catagorize this Dybzinski thing the same way. You are entitled to your opinion and I will file it in the wastebasket with so many others. -

Can we really have this post with out mentioning the biggest base running blunder in White Sox history? This is a name that would certainly make my list. Jerry Dybzinski -

A Worse Lineup Konerko Cf Uribe 1B Perez RF Ozuna LF Widger 3B A.J. C Ozzie DH Blum SS Iguchi 2B See more people can play out of position and Ozzie could make a worse line up -
I would rather not see any further posts about Timo. Period. Omit TIMO The Cubs could use a leadoff hitter, send Timo there!

Why isn't Ozuna in the lineup? His defense is not so great, but he hits. He is the best lead off we have next to pods. He is also our 2nd hottest hitter next to anderson. -
Blue Jay 2, Indians 1 bottom of 8th..

QUOTE(tony72 @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Gee - I wonder what's going to happen in the top of the 9th.... .... Now batting for the Indians, Timo Perez -
Is Scott still returning on Monday?

QUOTE(The Dude @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) I can't wait till Timo doesnt have to be a starter each and every game. Get back here soon Pods...we need ya! With Timo playing, I hardly noticed Pods was gone. Ozzie is so smart for playing Timo. Timo is batting .312 in the leadoff role, with seven stolen bases. Then the White Sox signed Jamie Navarro again. Never giving up a run the entire 2005 campaign and winning 27 games in only 5 starts, Navarro won the Cy Young, while played all three outfield positions at the same time, winning a gold glove in all three positions in addition to the batting title. Then I woke up. :sleep -

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) Is Anderson playing tonight? I suspect all that offense made Ozzie feel threatened in his managerial skills. That being said, Timo will be in left, Roward in center, and Die in right with Everett DH. We don't need to score too many runs, now do we? -
QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) Yeah, but you put up the Crede banner and he gets hurt. Is that good luck or bad? Perhaps Crede will hit better with a Broken finger. Heck, it certainly can not make his offense much worse. It definitely can not made his bunting much worse.
-
Anderson may have provided to much offense for his own good. Like Pablo Ozuna after getting three hits in a game, I suspect Anderson will be watching the next 2 games before being sent down on Monday.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) Monday should stop the Timo playing everyday thing. Pods comes back, Timo is a pinch hitter again. The only place were the occasional hit does us good. Actually if Timo hit for the Indians, that would help us.
-
Gosh, it is tough to think of a greater disappointment than Jamie Navarro. That being said, Timo is still horrid. OMIT TIMO There is no reason for Ozuna not to be leading off tonight with Crede hurt unless Timo pulls out those compromising photos of Ozzie
-
Benedict Arnold makes some of the turncoats on this board seem honorable. Before yesterday Timo was 6 for his last 48 and was rightfully being loathed by the members of this board. One game makes a great player not! Three or four good games does not make a great player either. If that were the case, Greg Norton would be in the Hall of Fame for hitting two Homers off of Randy Johnson. My Position stands: OMIT TIMO Bat Ozuna lead off!

I am sooooo pissed about the way we are playing at home right now. If these keeps up, we better hope that another team takes home field away from the sox come playoff time. -
QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) I don't understand, after what Ross did as a hitter last year, why Ozzie didn't put him in the lineup the first day he came up? We've had 3 games and all he's done is put him in defensively in the 8-4 "blowout" win. Timo Perez isn't half the offensive player that Gload is, and Everett probably hits better when he plays the field. So why didn't Everett start these games in RF, with Gload at 1B, and Konerko at DH (for a semi-rest)? C'mon Ozzie. USE GLOAD! With Frank on the DL and Dye hurt (and cooled from his great June), give Gload a shot. Perhaps Ozzie suspects that those infield opo ups that Konerko is so adept at hitting will eventually start dropping. :banghead

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 24, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) after last night, i realized how non threatening the heart of our order is. Of all the top teams, we have the worst middle of the lineup. I'm up for overpaying for a bat, not for a starter. I could not agree with you more. The Red Yankees have Ramirez and Ortiz, you can change a game in a flash. Konerko certainly does not intimidate pitchers. Thomas will never hit higher than .250 again, in reality we are better off without him. If we could get somebody like Griffey, that would be a major coup as he bats 3 or 4 and gives the offense instant credibilty. Even if it meant giving up Rowand, I would be for it. As last night was proof, we do not need pitching, we need somebody to hit with runners on base rather than popping out like Konerko and Thomas do virtually every time. Our best clutch hitter usually bats 6th. That is a problem.
-
I am so glad that in his infinite wisdom has decided that we can afford to concede this game. This is evident by the fact that Timo and Willie are accompanying automatic outs Crede and Uribe in the line-up.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) Personally Ozuna isn't enough of an upgrade offensively to warrant the defense that is lost when you transition from Juan to Pablo (Juan is one of the 5 best defensive ss's). If you get Vizquel, you get a SS of equal defensive ability (or close to it) and superior offensive production (not going to say ability because I think Juan has as much as any SS in the game not named Tejada or Arod and I think he has similar capabilities of a guy like Tejada). Vizquel's contract is a bit to rich for my blood. 3 years at his age has the potential to be a liability. Would he make that much of a difference. It is not like he can bat 3 or 4.
