  1. Let's get another voting win. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/fan_foru...y2006/index.jsp
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 05:14 AM) I saw this article today on Foxsports.com, thought it would be an interesting discussion; Do you really think something like that has messed up Freddy's arm and velocity this season? http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5846084 I think it is a combination of the WBC and the postseason. He got less of a break than any other pitcher in the league. How many pitchers actually pitched in the WS and in the WBC? 2 or 3, and I think Garcia was the only starting pitcher to pitch in both (not counting Clemens because he had a couple of extra months of rest). Lidge is another pitcher to pitch in the WS and WBC, and he has struggled all year (5.76 ERA, 1.48 WHIP). Even playoff pitchers have struggled. Jake Peavy's ERA is almost double his career ERA before this year.
  3. Pods has been somewhat disappointing this year and his play has been inconsistent, but it is hard to ignore the fact that the Sox win a ton of games when he gets a hit or swipes a base. It may just be a coincidence, but I doubt it. I feel that the outcome of the season will determine if the Sox keep Pods.
  4. Wow, 4 straight K's and 7 out of the last 9 outs by Strikeout.
  5. QUOTE(soxunited @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 05:48 PM) he's a career .252 hitter, who has gone .077 in his past seven games, he shouldn't be doing well against white sox pitching Zaun Lifetime vs Sox: .367 BA, .457 OBP, .578 SLG, 1.035 OPS with 5 HRs and 18 RBI in 109 ABs.
  6. The only change in the field would be in LF. For the starting rotation I would insert B-Mac and a FA (Mulder) in place of Garica and Vazquez. Using the trades of Garcia and Vazquez I would acquire a reliever to replace B-Mac. I like the Crawford idea which would be awesome. I don't like the Oswalt idea because we have already seen what too many innings can do to a SP.
  7. I'll take Gary Matthews Jr. and Mark Mulder. The SS market doesn't look too good.
  8. I would be very concerned about this. He has a history of injury problems, it is on his throwing arm, and it is late in the season where he is throwing more innings than he has ever thrown before.
  9. QUOTE(Jake @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 12:01 AM) Where can I find other extensions like this? With useful links and such. Go here: https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions.php?app=firefox I use about 30 different extensions myself. The extensions make the browser way more user-friendly and add capabilities you cannot get in other browsers.
  10. If the pitching drops off this team is in trouble. This is going to be an exciting finish to say the least.
  11. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=ApAB...p&type=lgns Wow, that is a huge loss for the Sawks.
  12. QUOTE(G&T @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) Thanks, this is really nice. Thanks!
  13. Isn't there one at 1060 W Addison?
  14. How bad can the Tribune be, they don't have Mariotti.
  15. September 20th the Sox will regain First Place in the AL Central. Detroit's Record from August 1st - September 20th - 24-23 (94-58) White Sox Record from August 1st - September 20th - 33-15 (95-57)
  16. A. Jones to Boston for Lester and a prospect? Man that would be a steal for Boston.
  17. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 09:28 AM) That reminds me, I've meant to ask this question recently... Who is the #3 catcher on the team, in the event one is needed? That one day after Widge was released and they weren't sure if Alomar would make it in for the game, I was wondering who would play if AJ got hurt. Here is a quote from MLB.com:
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 07:40 AM) So the reason Buerhle's location is off is the guy behind the plate. Interesting that a guy with a CERA over his team's ERA for his career is a guy that will turn Buerhle around and get him to get his control back. It is that or have Paulie strap on his old gear and get back there.

  20. I guess Vazquez can talk a good game, but that still does not translate to on-field performance. Everytime he pitches it feels like Groundhog Day.
  21. QUOTE(Random @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) i wish i had firefox... http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firef...&lang=en-US
  22. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 02:54 AM) I still think the Tigers are gonna hit a patch in where they just don't play good baseball for 2 weeks, if not longer. If they dont, and they go on to win 110-115 games, they deserve it. I agree, they have their toughest stretch of the season from August 7th - September 13th. That is going to be a long month for them. If they are still on top after that stretch they deserve the division, but I am not counting anyone out until after that date.
