  1. Another great win. Kinda nice to get some late scoring. That seemed to be lacking last year. Once teams got to their bullpens, the game was over for us. Not this year. It looks like Thome is heating up and Dye is going on one of his tears. Couple that with consistent ABs from CQ, AJ, and Crede and we are looking pretty solid. Pitching has been unbelievable.
  2. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ May 20, 2008 -> 07:43 PM) if pablo's hurt, who plays 3b Thome?
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2008 -> 07:39 PM) It's hard to type with one hand. no that is hilarious.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2008 -> 07:33 PM) BTW, I don't know what Eric Wedge is doing. Between letting Dellucci bat and letting Carroll/Cabrera bat there, I'm not sure what he's thinking. He may be thinking WWOD?
  5. Linebrink is on fire. 1 ER let up all season. What a pleasant surprise after the concern about him pitching away from Petco.
  6. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ May 20, 2008 -> 06:52 PM) Jose is absolutely filthy right now.... i cant think of a more Jekkel/Hyde pitcher. He's allowed either 1 ER or 4 ER in every start, with every 1 ER start equating to a Sox win. Hopefully this is the 1 ER variety Count 2nite.
  7. Good stuff, and if this is going to be a new monthly thing, I like it.
  8. Congrats to Lester on his accomplishment. Also, thanks for beating a division opponent.
  9. Laporte St. (just South of Midway) to Orland Park. Currently in El Paso, Texas.
  10. QUOTE (MAX @ May 19, 2008 -> 12:08 PM) Your sig simply sucks. Yeah, no mention of acquiring Floyd (Dec 8th, 2006), Danks (Dec 24th, 2006), Quentin (Dec 3rd, 2007), or Ramirez (Dec 22nd, 2007) who seem to be cogs in the future of this franchise, and no mention of Vazquez either? Time for a sig update.
  11. A - Floyd, Quentin, Danks, Contreras, Linebrink, Pierzynski, Massett B - Vazquez, Dye, Jenks, Anderson, Hall, Ramirez C - Crede, Thornton, Dotel, Logan D - Ozuna, Cabrera, Swisher, Buehrle, MacDougal F - Konerko, Thome, Uribe, Wasserman How about taking a look at the recent trades now as well thru 1/4 of the season: Quentin - (A++++) Has probably exceeded everyones expectations, but his own. Cabrera - (D+) Garland is not pitching that good and would've blocked either Floyd or Danks. So that part of the trade was good. OCab has shown flashes, but he really needs to pick it up for this trade to be at least a wash. Hopefully we still get 2 picks. Swisher - (D-) Sweeney almost has comparable numbers and would not have cost the Sox DLS and Gio. Hopefully Swish comes around and makes this trade a success. At least the clubhouse is loose with him around. That was definitely missing in 2007. Richar - (Incomplete)
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 18, 2008 -> 06:52 PM) http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=431146 Cinderella story? Was Cinderella that old?
  13. 6 players with at least 2 hits. All positional starters with at least 1 hit. Nice to see OCab finally come out with the bat and glove. His backhand stab of Rowand in the 2nd was sweet. Danks not great, but solid nonetheless. Masset comes in and shuts the door. Wass needs to be sent down.
  14. QUOTE (scenario @ May 18, 2008 -> 05:36 PM) Remember how people screamed when the Sox decided to bring Masset north from spring training and send Wasserman to Charlotte? Based soley on stats, it was a questionable decision. However, Masset is a long-man/spot starter and Wasserman is more situational. They weren't really preventing each other from making the 25 man roster. Masset was also out of options if I remember correctly. Wass also looked unstoppable in AAA, which goes to show that there is big difference once they make the jump.
  15. QUOTE (Wanne @ May 18, 2008 -> 05:06 PM) Geez-us...I honestly can't remember the last 5 game streak!!!!!! April 3rd to April 7th.
  16. Back to 3 games over .500 and a 1.5 game lead in the Central. Huge series coming up vs Cleveland.
  17. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ May 18, 2008 -> 04:53 PM) feel like we need a 4 run lead to be comfortable in the 9th the way this thing is going How about 5 runs?
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 18, 2008 -> 04:52 PM) so, is the wasserman era finished or what? DFA? Yes his ERA is finished at 29.70.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 18, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) i have no idea when or if Konerko is going to come around If his hand is still in pain, put him on the DL.
  20. QUOTE (G&T @ May 18, 2008 -> 04:47 PM) How many runs does the BP need to close this out? +/- 3
  21. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 18, 2008 -> 04:45 PM) I saw it differently. Theres no way Alexei got his foot on the bag but he did tag the runner out. In MLB Gameday, he was clearly out.
  22. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 18, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) You know, Crede got a pass for his D early on because it had been almost a year since he played baseball due to that back injury... but it's the middle of May, if your not ready now, than it's hopeless. Most of his errors are throws, correct? How hard is it to make adjustments?
  23. Cincy just closed out a 6-4 victory vs Cleveland. Indians are now 22-22 and were just swept by the Reds.
