Garland had a 6.25 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and a .937 OPS against him through April and May in 2006. I'm glad the Sox got atleast a bit of value out of Garland, but let's not bury him yet.
That is true, but that is the type of pitcher the Sox could not afford to have in the rotation. More than likely he will come around, but it is amazing how bad ex-Sox pitchers struggle once they leave the team.
