QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 6, 2008 -> 08:16 PM) Anybody know of any good Philly message boards? Their fans can't be too pleased right now. Can't be too pissed because he was never going to do anything in Philly. He really needed a change of scenery.

RISP
Taking a quick look at the title, I almost thought it said RIP.

White Sox Loser
This team needs a serious wakeup call. Fire Walker or allow him to resign - make Harold the hitting coach. Cut Ozuna and Uribe, place Dye on the DL and send Ramirez to AAA. Then bring in some fresh young bodies. They can't do any worse, and who knows they might surprise.

CWS (14-15, L5) @ TOR (15-17, W3), 5/5, 6:07pm CT
QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2008 -> 07:46 PM) No, that was when we got a terrible performing player for one of the top pitchers available. That was the deciding moment of the offseason.

Deciding moment of the season right there.

You know we've hit rock bottom when Toby Hall and Brian Anderson are leading the team in Batting Average.

If I was Ozzie...
QUOTE (G&T @ May 4, 2008 -> 06:32 AM) I love arguments about who needs coaching. My thought is simple: Tiger Woods has a swing coach. Yeah, but he isn't that good. Didn't even win the Masters. I guess he needed better coaching.

If I was Ozzie...
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 3, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) I'm not a fan of Walker, but before you suggest just simply firing him, I'd like to see some candidates to replace him. The closest option the Sox have is Joe McEwing. Is that something Sox fans are ready for? Personally I wouldn't be opposed to it, but it's not the best looking toy in the store. How much impact does a hitting coach really have on a team? A firing would be more of a superficial move if anything.

If I was Ozzie...
lol, Ozzie: Also mentions how Walk is not getting fired. http://blogs.suntimes.com/whitesox/2008/05...ting_fired.html

White Sox @ Blue Jays 12:07pm CSN-HD
It's pretty bad when you only allow 2 ERs in 2 games, and lose both. At least we weren't shutout again.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) I believe Dye is 0-14 since he returned. At least he is consistent.

Bugs and Cranks: Bench Quentin for Owens
Should be called BS and Crap instead of Bugs and Cranks. They obviously do not have any clue how good Quentin has been.

All-Star Voting
I am going to vote for Frank Thomas, DH for Toronto. CQ will probably get on the Final Vote ballot.

Things getting worse for Roger Clemens
QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) Since this would be statutory rape, anybody know the statute of limitations on such a crime? Here ya go: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Aok4...o&type=lgns

Jon Garland
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:46 AM) Garland had a 6.25 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and a .937 OPS against him through April and May in 2006. I'm glad the Sox got atleast a bit of value out of Garland, but let's not bury him yet. That is true, but that is the type of pitcher the Sox could not afford to have in the rotation. More than likely he will come around, but it is amazing how bad ex-Sox pitchers struggle once they leave the team.

Things getting worse for Roger Clemens
He is such an idiot. Any credibility he had before this incident is gone. Talk about losing cool points.
-
Jon Garland
There has to be more to that knot thing than they are letting out. He is pitching horrible. Besides the first game of the season he has not lasted past 6.1IP. His ERA is 5.94 with a WHIP of 1.73. His K:BB ratio is 3:4, and he's allowed 6 HRs. He is extremely lucky to be 3-3.
-
Carlos Quentin
3-4, 1 HR, 1 BB. OPS now over 1.000? 2nd to Manny in OPS. Crazy.
-
Things getting worse for Roger Clemens
Sounds eerily like Bill Clinton: Notice it says relationship. Nice choice of words.

QUOTE (rafacosta @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 07:41 PM) Rather move PK than Thome. Thome is a lefty and we dont have that many. You would rather move a 32 yr old 1B compared to a 38 yr old DH? I would actually move Dye before either of them. Konerko can just shift to DH when Thome's deal is up. You can't get wrapped around the axle about the L/R thing. Just field the best team as possible.
