4/16 Gamethread: Sox (8-5) at Orioles (8-6); 6:05; WCIU
Now Buehrle is the only starting pitcher with an ERA over 5.00. Who would of thought that to start the season?

Big Jim making his claim. Goes deep for a 3-run shot in the first inning.

Young starters trying to make the long-term leap
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 03:05 PM) They also mention John Danks out-pitching Eveland the other day. Eveland is #7, so that makes Danks #6. YES!

Big Frank vs. Big Ji Jim
We traded away Rowand, Gio, and Haigwood for the difference between those two. We did receive cash, but it looks like a wash. We probably would have been better in 2006 with Thomas/Rowand compared to Thome/Anderson. This year will be telling since both are struggling at the dish.

QUOTE (max power @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) Actually its well over 1100. 516 + 595 = 1111. Well over 1100?

Tom Verducci: Appreciate Thomas and Griffey
Two class acts. Interesting that they both also suffered injuries that essentially stopped them from completely destroying the record books. What could've been.......

4/15 Gamethread: Sox (7-5) vs. Oakland (9-5); 1:05, CSN
Shutout so close..... 15 consecutive scoreless innings pitched by Floyd and Danks. Pretty impressive. This was also Danks' first start without allowing a run.

Thome Suspended
QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 10:34 AM) Double jeopardy would be being tried for the same act twice, being punished twice has always been around. Actually, the opposite would be more rare. Getting suspended without getting thrown out of a game. Actually it does mean double punishment.

Thome Suspended
This is odd. I didn't know you can get thrown out of a game and suspended for the same thing. Double jeopardy. Ozzie was giving him a day off anyway. Hopefully the day off motivates him to get on track.

Huge performance by Logan. 0 outs and 2 on and doesn't allow a single runner.

White Sox Wins based on Weather
QUOTE (joeynach @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 03:53 PM) My friend sent me this link. It from weather.com that projects wins and losses based on certain weather conditions that are expected throughout the 162 game schedule. Wind vs. Calm, Day Vs. Night, Warm Vs. Cold, etc. Its pretty cool, doubt it should be taken that seriously, but nonetheless a nice little sox piece. It is for the 2007 season. Right now the Sox are 6-1 in Day games, and 1-3 at night which is basically opposite of last year (which is a good thing).

The "Mighty" Detroit Tigers
QUOTE (sox-r-us @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 01:28 AM) The next 28 games (which will be 40 games total) are brutal for the tiggers: Yankees 6 times, Twins 5 times, Jays & Red Sox 4 times each, Rangers & Angels 3 times each, Indians twice and Royals once, AND they have only 2 off days scheduled between now and then. With their BP, it could be ovah by 1/4 season. I wouldn't say it is over, but it will be an almost insurmountable hurdle to overcome. The Yankees were 21-29 after 50 last year and ended up in the playoffs, so anything can happen. Either way it is nice to see them struggling so bad.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 03:49 PM) Wow, that Tiger offense is scary I read that this is the third time that two granny have been hit by the Sox in a game. When and who are the other two? I don't have the answers. Hopefully, somebody else does. Something about 3B:
