At Bat Music: Chicago White Sox
Trade Cabrera. If only to save our fans from having to hear that s*** every time he comes up to bat.

Some Sox/Cubs fun
I'm thinking 3-3 or 2-4. This offense is very streaky, and I doubt it will keep it up through the two Cubs series. (Oh, and if we go 2-4, I also predict the board to go insane and think that the season is over, but really, that's not much of a prediction)

IT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) Is this like Ed Farmer trying to use Rooney's signature line and botching it? That's the joke right? I was thinking the same thing, it's been like that for 2 days now. A win over the Twinkies is always a good win, especially one where we put up 10. Especially nice to see Blackburn get lit up, I'm tired of seeing him start against us.

"The Heist"
QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) I wonder where all the "burn Contreras on a stake in the outfield during a seventh inning stretch" people are. Reason being I have some delightful bbq sauce that would go just right with some words. It would be a great picnic with some softball, beer, and afore-mentioned bbq sauce. I never wanted to burn him, but I did think he was done and thought we should move him for a bag of balls. And frankly, everything that was seen last year made that conclusion a pretty easy one, and given how much money we had invested in his contract, it would have been a great idea to trade him and try to have someone else pick up his salary. He's been great this year though, which is fantastic. Completely unexpected and non-logical given how he looked last year (and his age being 45 or so), but still fantastic to see as a Sox fan.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 09:31 PM) I love missing Z also, but don't we hit him well. I bet his ERA is 3.7 at the least. I know we put up 7 against him last year after AJ's granny at Wrigley, and I could have swore we scored 11 runs in a game he pitched 2 or 3 years back. Anybody have his stats against us lifetime? http://www.baseball-reference.com/ 5-2 4.45 ERA 62.2 IP

I have no idea, but I do know he was in Miami Vice as a Columbian drug lord. Of course, that's not an animated show, so it wasn't what you were thinking of

LET'S MAKE A LIST III ~ FUNNIEST TV COMEDIES EVER!
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 01:59 PM) I also assume Duckman has been on every submitted list so far, for no other reason than it's brilliant use of Zappa music as the soundtrack. No?? Wasn't Dweezil also a voice in that show, or am I confused about that? Either way, I never really watched it, save for an episode or two

6/4 - Sox vs. KC, 7:11 CT, CSN
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 09:49 PM) It's the only way he's gonna get on base. You say that as if he could run fast enough to get on.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 09:10 PM) Um, Brian Anderson is winning the game in the bottom of this inning. It's fate. I fully agree.

White Sox sign Esteban Loaiza/Option Wassermann
Loaiza as a starter this year: 3 GS (11.1 IP), 0-1 8.74 ERA Loaiza as a reliever this year: 4 G (12.2 IP), 1-1 2.84 ERA Small sample size, yes, but very interesting.

Perceptual Experiment
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 02:50 PM) Did he say what the correct number was? No, it doesn't actually matter (although I suppose that means I don't know if I did it correct or not, I did end up with 17 or 18, can't remember which). It was 17 or 18 though.

Q-Tips for Quentin
QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 02:10 PM) Just for everyone in this thread, I just wrote CQ in 25 times. I think he has now cracked 1,000 votes. I'm in a discussion I cannot win, so I am done. Look I love CQ, we all love CQ. He is the second coming of what I don't know, but yeah, we'd certainly be f'd without him. I never said we as fans have bigger fish to fry..... marketing does. Like selling a game out, but I won't even go there. I don't mind one bit if there is a shade under 20k in the park on any given night. Let's all hope he makes it in so Sox fans can sleep at night. psst, by working on getting Quentin (and others) into the ASG, the marketing department is working to sell more tickets, since the ASG gives the team more exposure.

TCSN: Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 10:31 AM) How does this guy have a job writing about baseball? He doesn't have a job, it's the blog for this site and its sister sites that people volunteer to write for I believe.

TCSN: Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock
It would be a huge waste of a roster spot to have 3 catchers.

Q-Tips for Quentin
QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 09:36 AM) meh...this organization and fanbase cares way too much about "writing-in" players for the all-star ballot, going back to Vote Podesednik and Punch A.J. If he makes it, great. If he doesnt, can we just focus on winning some games rather than worrying about getting our newfound star one AB in the mid-season classic? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marketing
