The OFFICIAL "I was wrong about Joe Crede" thread
It's 7 games. I reserve the right to declare I was right or wrong about Crede until at least a few months in. And yeah, kyyle and wite are both dead on with their posts.

Chat Crew 2008
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 02:50 PM) I'm going to be setting up a new chatroom for the Bears site and will post a link in it for the ST members (to check it out) and let me know if they are fans of it. If so, I will set it up here as well. It will integrate directly with the forum so when you log onto the site and click ot the chat your username will carry over and you can even click on a members name in the chat and access the profile from the forums. Awesome. I'm tired of being Felix#### as opposed to just Felix

Vazquez (0-1) vs. Blackburn (0-1): HOME OPENER!
f***ing class is going to stop me from seeing the game, but I'll get to watch the first 30 minutes of it. Go Sox, lets show these Twinkies whats up!

Vazquez (0-1) vs. Blackburn (0-1): HOME OPENER!
Blackburn looked really good in his first start, I was there. He had good stuff and control, although his control started to lessen as the game went on. He completely dominated a decent Angels lineup though, so it could be a tough matchup for us.

Buehrle (0-0) vs. Verlander (0-0)- KEEP IT UP!!
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) Beautiful play by Crede, and I do love Uribe's turn on the double plays. yeah, I'm starting to like him at 2B. His arm is fantastic, making double plays that much easier. I mean, his offense sucks, but it might be worth keeping him in there until Richar is healthy and hitting well or Alexei knows how to hit a breaking ball.

Buehrle (0-0) vs. Verlander (0-0)- KEEP IT UP!!
QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 07:52 PM) I'm surprisingly ok with Juan at 2nd. Just keep him in the 9 hole and his glove will make up for it. He's got a cannon! Yeah, since his cannon is used so often at 2B

Buehrle (0-0) vs. Verlander (0-0)- KEEP IT UP!!
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 06:59 PM) So who are the Tigers playing tonight? With that opening by ESPN and Gammons, I think they forgot... I thought the Tigers were so good that they didn't actually play anyone.

Would today be a good day to start Brian Anderson?
QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 01:29 PM) Today would be a good day to DH JD, start Quentin in RF, move Swisher to LF, and give BA the nod in CF. Why DH JD? Thome has a hell of a history against Verlander, there's no reason he should be left out of the order.

The Best So Far
The fact that we're 3-2 against Cleveland and Detroit in 5 road games.

THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 01:14 AM) Did I miss something? Or did the Sox ink Davanon? Minor league deal (I think), he's in AAA right now. Jim mentioned it here, and I've read it elsewhere too.

2008 White Sox Catch-All Thread
I didn't want to put this in a new thread, but how about Swisher's defense today? He looked to be getting some good jumps on the balls, and made some really good plays out there. I haven't watched him out in CF that much, but if he can do what he did today, I'll be impressed. And while talking defense, how about Quentin throwing Renteria out? Hell of a throw and arm... I'm glad he's brought his A-game thus far this season, hopefully it'll make it tougher to keep him out of the lineup.

So if we rattle off a win streak here...
People get much too hung up in speed when talking about leadoff hitters. As long as he gets on base, setting the table for our power bats, what does it matter? Sure, speed is a nice bonus to have, but at this point, Swisher is the ideal leadoff man. 8 walks in 5 games. Think about that for a minute, and get back to me. That's a .421 OBP. Now, obviously, he won't keep this pace up, but if anything, he's shown that he knows how to draw out an at-bat and work the pitcher, while working him for a walk the majority of the time thus far. This can only lead to good things, and should be the main goal of the leadoff man in the first place. Also, I agree with wite that we have a #3 starter in Danks. What we really need is a 4 and 5, but if Floyd pitches like he did today, that would be a huge step in the right direction. Count, on the other hand, needs a lot of work.

The joke that is KW and the White Sox
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) Bump....where are you Steve? Have you ever heard of sample size? It's rather important. Now, I'm not defending Steve and the original post, but if you're going to make a silly post like this, at least wait until we're a decent amount of time into the season. Otherwise it just makes you look lazy.

Films Thread
I finally saw There Will Be Blood. I don't know whether I liked it or not, but I do know that the ending was completely awesome and everything I could have ever wanted from that movie.

Gavin "Pretty Boy" Floyd vs. D-Train, Going for three!
Polanco flies out to right-center. Swisher getting to run around a bit out there so far

Gavin "Pretty Boy" Floyd vs. D-Train, Going for three!
Nice to see Gavin getting ahead of the hitter there, even if he let Clete back in the AB.

Gavin "Pretty Boy" Floyd vs. D-Train, Going for three!
No one in the chat? I'm disappointed.

Gavin "Pretty Boy" Floyd vs. D-Train, Going for three!
I might actually get to watch this game. Zap2it.com claims I do, but I never hold too much faith in that. If this is truly the case, it'd be great to see a solid performance by Floyd. Seeing the Tigers start out 0-5 would be sweet.

Konerko Commercial
Paulie's is fantastic, Swisher's is also pretty humorous.
