Niners forfeit draft pick in Lance Briggs tampering
Felix replied to RME JICO's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 24, 2008 -> 06:31 PM) I asked this on Talkbears as well, what happened to the picks that the Patriots had to forfeit? Were they assigned to anyone? No, it was just forfeited. -

I lose! Thanks Georgetown! -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 23, 2008 -> 04:11 PM) With all due respect to Davidson.......what a great break for Wisconsin. Davidson has very smart guards in Curry and Richards, but I can't see them beating Wisconsin. I give them credit though, what they've done already is a great accomplishment, and it's always great to see double digit seeds doing big things. Yeah. Davidson has no chance against Wisconsin and their defense, which is a real shame. G-Town/Wisconsin would have been a great game, too, although no one would have ever scored in it.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 23, 2008 -> 11:59 AM) I just noticed the final score of last nights game is listed as UCLA 53 and Texas A&M 49. Ummm why? The dunk was clearly after the buzzer, and a quick youtube search of it proved that my memory is correct. Are there any gambling consequences that would cause them to count that basket for no reason? I know it doesn't matter in the result of who won, but that's still ridiculous. Yeah, it was clearly after the buzzer. I doubt that there were gambling consequences, because I have to believe UCLA was favored by more than 4, but it's pretty ridiculous that they included that dunk in the final score.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 23, 2008 -> 12:10 AM) Wow, im glad i didnt mention that my opinions affect his career more than anything. Phew!!!! I wonder if DickRod liked putting all his eggs in that basket? I wonder how his players felt when they found out that recruits for his next job were more important than they were? I wonder if any recruits wondered what kind of a coach was it that would do such a thing? I wonder if a coaches character ever comes into play during recruiting in a recruit's living room with his family? I wonder if THEIR opinion will affect his career? You wonder a lot of things -
QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 02:54 PM) I have literally been to a place in texas that just had a trough that EVERYONE peed into simulatneously. I promptly moved to PA. Never been to the Metrodome I take it? That's what it has too. I was at the Bears/Vikings game this past year, and people were pissing literally everywhere in the bathroom. Walls, garbage cans, the entire trough (shoulder to shoulder).. it was disgusting. It was worse than the Dome during Wednesday night (student night!) Twins games, and those nights are pretty popular among drunk students (read: 99% of the student population).

QUOTE(BFirebird @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 04:45 PM) Great stats there 3E8. Where do you find stuff like defensive win shares and what have you? I was looking for stats like that a couple weeks back and couldn't find any. http://www.hardballtimes.com/thtstats/main...p;Submit=Submit

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 06:32 PM) Richar is supposedly going to get an MRI on his back. Maybe Pablo is leading off at 2B on opening day. That would be absolutely terrible.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) Are these the same waivers Manny Ramirez was placed on? Is it a certainty if he's not claimed he will be released? No. Manny (and a lot of major leaguers) was placed on revocable waivers. From what I've read, Juan was put on irrevocable waivers and designated for assignment, meaning the Sox have 10 days to decide whether they want to assign him to the minors or to release him. From what it sounds like, the minors aren't going to happen (not too sure if they're an option at this point either, I don't know the MLB's waiver rules as much as I'd like to), and he'll probably be released if no one claims him.

woo! Muck Fichigan! I mean, I hate OSU too, but seeing Michigan lose both Mallet and Pryor is just too sweet. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 01:24 AM) That game just pissed me off more about this season. Your team won, enjoy it

What sports forum makes you a smarter sports fan?
Felix replied to shipps's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(shipps @ Mar 18, 2008 -> 08:07 AM) I find it somewhat surprising that no one feels that they are a smarter fan because of talking sports with their dad or grandfather.I know its just a sign of the times but it would be a breath of fresh air to know that good sports talk still goes on amongst families. None of my family is as big a sports fan as I am, and although they are fans, they aren't nearly as knowledgeable as myself (which is merely a result of how much I pay attention to sports in my life). -
Ramirez please. I really don't want to see Uribe starting again, especially when Ramirez has looked so good thus far in the spring.
