QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) That's true. But if you're a righty and either pull it or drive it to center you're screwed. It's not a bad park for lefties, though. IIRC, it's something like 330 down the right-field line and 365 to RCF. Not bad. Yeah center is death. I think Juan Gonzales would have a few things to say about the dimensions in that park.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 03:02 PM) They brought in left-center significantly, but it's still 345 down the line. Why I-Rod and Maggs wanted to play there is beyond me. Anyway, thanks. It's difficult to tell how hard the Tigers were hitting Garcia through Farmer. It's only 370 into the gaps which is smaller than the Cell.

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) duh Something tells me Frank isnt all that healthy anyways, hed prolly hit better if he tried to stop hittin the long ball which it appears he goes up to the plate to do Can Frank run this year? I haven't had a chance to see him play, but my guess is he can't or would prefer not to. If he stays healthy it will be because he doesn't have to run the bases too much.

QUOTE(chiguy79 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) how many more ABs before Pods spring training is over? How many bad at bats until he tries a bunt? He's pulling off, I think. A bunt attempt might get his head on the ball. But I'm sitting here where it's a lot easier.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) Glad to hear that Freddy's hitting the low/mid '90s again. Didn't get to watch it on TV, but it sounded like Comerica's spacious dimensions saved Garcia's ass a couple of times. Is that accurate or was Farmer exaggerating a bit? I like Ozzie's use of B-Mac and Jenks in a must-win. Also nice to see Paulie have a nice day at the plate. The only downside was that Pods was wretched. Winning two in a row and beating a Sox-killer (Bonderman) were huge. Great job! Great defense saved his ass. That park isn't that big anymore except to center. Garcia was good, not great, but he pitched out of any jams against a team that's hitting well so I'm happy.

I cared a lot more about this before last year. He gave me what I want, so he can do what makes him happy.

QUOTE(SouthPaw @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 01:53 AM) Yeah i was just thinking that the Yankees have the same record... but nobody is worried about them... and I'm gonna go ahead and say that we have a better team than them. But they go through this a lot so it makes sense to them, though I'm sure some of them think the sky is falling. Rest assured, nobody except White Sox fans believes this team won't turn it around fast.

People were selling them on EBay, beyond that I have no idea.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) Bad thing about that is they won't say it on his line for the season. Sounds like a case of "Don't tell me what you did, tell me when you did it." I think...

Sox v. Kansas City, 4/7/06, Garland v. Affeldt

QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) I really think the Sox need to get a bullpen guy, Thorton and Logan dont look to hot. You are probably right. I had really high hopes for both of them, especially Logan. But right now they need a guy that can complement BMac in long relieve. Everyone expected these starters to go 6 or 7 innings, but if this continues the bullpen will be blown out early in the season. -

QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) What changes you think will be made? Well, there aren't that many changes to be made besides getting Dye healthy and playing the real lineup for a while to get that rythm that Hawk keeps talking about. Of course, they scored enough runs tonight. Guillen and Coop have to get these starters in line so that the bullpen becomes a little easier to manage. He also needs to ensure they don't get down on themselves too much. -

Well I guess Ozzie is going to get his first managerial test early in the season. We'll see how he responds. -
Hawk said JD will be ready tomorrow probably, but should be in the lineup Sunday.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) If it touches your mit and you aren't diving it should be caught. Pablo just flat out missed the catch. One out away from a 1-3 start. Well he landed on his stomach, though it was more of a fall. If he didn't leave his feet he probably catches it. -

I'm hoping this will become that game we laugh at by the end of the season. Like that game in Oakland. -

And I can just as easily say that Republicans don't want to destroy the environment. That doesn't change the point I'm trying to make. I'm sorry, but I don't like what he did. If she asked about a specific issue and he gave his position then so be it, but that's not what happened.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 04:25 PM) So, a girl asks a former Democrat President if she should be a Democrat or Republican and you're shocked that he says "be a Democrat?" That's not what she asked, she asked what the differences were, then he pointed to every hot button issue and skewed it to his need. If she asked a Republican the same question and the Rep. said "Democrats kill babies, and if you don't like that then be a Republican," you'd be bothered. I'm not shocked by anything he says, it just bothers me.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) Oh those danes! http://www.um.dk/Publikationer/Eksportraad...l/chapter02.htm Heinz makes something called hamburger sauce in the UK. It's the combination of ketchup, mustard, pickles, and onions I believe. They also have Salad Cream, which Heinz recommends putting on hotdogs.
