First, you change from present to past tense in every other sentence, but that's not the issue. Second, you may not have mentioned enough of your personal feelings. However, it could also be that english teachers have the right to grade in whatever way they choose based on their views of what is right. I'm not trying to piss anyone off, but this is my experience. I had a similar teacher in high school that gave c's to every guy in the class while giving A's to every girl whether they did the assignment or not. She was an open feminist and took issue with anything guys in class did. I don't know if what you wrote was great as compared to the rest of the class, but the reasons she gave are ridiculous. You have to sit down with her and explain why this was important. Based on my experience, I would ask around and see if you were singled out.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) The fact is that if we are going to have low strikeout guys like Garland, Buehrle, and even Freddy on our pitching staff, we need studly defenders in our infield. I think our only decently high strikeout starters will be Contreras and McCarthy. So if we keep Paulie and improve at DH from Carl (not too tough), we can afford Crede's offense in the 8th spot. This is true. Many "experts" claimed that the Sox couldn't win it all because they didn't have power pitchers and that means there would be a lot of pressure on the defense. What they didn't realize was that the Sox defense was incredible. We all know the Crede can catch but as for his bat, I think he's an October star. I know it's only been one postseason, but I think that's when he shines. Pressure situations are what he needs. Maybe this guy can hit .280 or .290, but I'm not holding my breath.

If this Series was boring it was because the Sox were too damn good. But I think this is more jealousy than anything. I was going to bring this article up last night when I saw it but I thought it wasn't time yet to hear the complaining. Screw them all. Listen to, of all people, Peter Gammons who ranks the 2005 Sox team among the great teams EVER. This team set the postseason record for run differencial, AND had 4 pitchers throw consecutive complete games. Maybe it was boring. But not for us. This was one of the great moments in baseball history and in Chicago history. If other people don't want to see that now, that's fine, but they will have to soon.

I feel the same way, and here's what I think: The problem is that World Series are played by two teams that are not in Chicago and certainly aren't the White Sox. What's going on now is the total opposite of everything I have ever seen and known and I can't explain it.
-
Never cared about the Cubs, and if they ever make it to the Series I'll tell you if I care about that.
-
I heard on the Score that they are being sold on EBay, but I bet they will be expensive.
-
How are The Simpsons not on that list? It's #2 behind Seinfeld.
-
I think this has to do with the White Sox having a bad reputation for the surrounding area and Chicago doesn't want to be in the national spot light like that again. I don't believe this has anything to do with terrorists.

QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) i had a 2 minute wait for game 1 at 12:01.....nothing. Me too, then there was a magical error in processing my request, and by the time I could try again I'm sure it was all sold out. It's alright though, I bought Batman Begins at Best Buy and they gave me 2 free pops. So I guess it kinda evens out. or not

QUOTE(TLAK @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) Boston didn't have to beat Contreras AND Buehrle AND Garland. Not that it can't happen, but the Angels have a tough row to hoe. And the Sox don't have to face Lowe, and Schilling, and Pedro...when they were all really good. I think the Sox get to Byrd tonight like they got to Santana last night.
-
QUOTE(chisoxt @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) With the win tonight, the Sox have now won 105 games total, including post season wins. This beats the 104 wins that they won in 1917, whn they won 100 games during the season, and 4 games in the WS. Of course, othe season was only 154 games long, but it's worh noting. Lets get 5 more wins boys! And there were no playoffs, only a World Series. Though that series was best of 9. Although you are correct, the stat isn't relevent since the newest playoff system was adopted. The last comment I have no complaint about.

All this umpire crap reminds me of one thing: Remember when Buerhle was kicked out of a game for hitting a guy before he got through 6 innings? The Sox were losing that game at the time, but what ended up happening? They came back in the next inning and, as Hawk stated "They got that one for Mark." I don't see the Angels going after it. They are giving up instead of trying harder. The Sox were winning only 3-1 when the interference call was missed, and they lost 8-2. Is that really the umps fault.
-
Nomar? No. There is no prove he can stay healthy for a season anymore. I know it's weird for Sox fans to realize, but there aren't many 3rd basemen better than Crede right now. KW tried to get the one I can think of and that didn't happen. Everett can walk and then try to find a DH (unless that's Thomas). Remember, Iguchi really hasn't shown his full offensive potential so getting a super-stud hitter isn't totally necessary, though I wouldn't complain.
-
Win at home just like last series. I'll put it this way, if the Sox lose game 1 I bet they lose the series. This is a crucial game and the Angels will be tired and possibibly hungover. It may not show at the start of the game, but by the end it should. If you can't beat them tomorrow, I can't imagine winning.

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) I guess ESPN still can't get off the yankee kick... Yeah I saw that and my jaw almost dropped until I remembered that ESPN sucks.

Couch makes it out to be a stalker situation in his column, but Rowand doesn't come off to me as a freak like that and the Carmen and Sily story seems like the truth. Personally I don't care what motivates them. If any of us were to go and play for some team that wasn't the White Sox we wouldn't care much about the past players for them, but more about the legacy we could make. I understand where Couch is coming from, but in the free agency era, I really don't think players have the time to really care about one organization like that.

Berman went silent went PK went deep. Screw him.
-
I've worn contacts consistently for the last 3 years, but I wore glasses on game one and they won so I've worn them ever since...and I'm a little afraid to get a haircut.
-
I'll bet the Yankees feel just great right about now. How would it it feel to give up two pitchers who go out and win a series for another team? I wouldn't know.
-
I actually jumped off my stool at BW3's, then drank some VERY delicious beer.
-
As long as he's throwing it down I don't care. Hangers are the problem. The Red Sox hitters are usually patient and with Jenks they probably wanted to wait back on the fastball which helped them see the curve. As long as it's biting it'll be okay.
-
I would like to thank Wells for throwing consecutive curveballs for the first time all night to Iguchi. The first one gave him the timing, and the second one hung all the way to the seats.
-
How bout Iguchi grounds into a double play, the rally never happens and the White Sox lose. Moron. By playing for one run they set up the big inning. God I want that job so I could make money for being an idiot.
-
I think he's still wearing a cast, so I'm gonna say no.

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 07:26 PM) Kruk... The Red Sox bad pitching benefits them in this series???? WTF is that??? Yeah, last night Harold Reynolds of course picked the Red Sox and Yankees to win and his reasoning was them they have "great depth." Huh? Where? I'll give him the starting offense but I don't see it in the starters, bullpen, or bench for either the RS or Yankees. Steve Phillips picked both the WS and Angels. Consider the sources. Doesn't matter, the WS have to win then they will shut up. By the way, I think Ozzie sees this as a World Series now. I really think he hates the east coast and all the pub. they get.
