  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 11:25 AM) Read the line right above the one you quoted... the amendments were voted down. Yeah that's kinda scary. The Supreme Court will reject this law if it comes before them, but I can't imagine why abortions would be illegal in cases of rape or incest.

    Beach tunes

Many songs off the Blue Album by Weezer.
  3. I've never heard of it but I'm sure people will do anything for money, and that there is nothing real about reality tv.

    Cursive

I write in cursive for everything, but since my penmanship isn't all that great I prefer using the computer as much as possible. Especially when other people have to read it.
  5. If I recall, Owens has no arm. It would be better for him to be in left. Either way, he needs to be eased into a starting role. Not many guys go from the minors to a starting job on a championship team.
  6. Unfortunately my understanding of economics is essentially nill. My question is what sectors are these jobs in? Are these all manufacturing or government or what? It's great that people have jobs but are incomes generally higher or lower?
  7. Looks great, even better than those CG images they had on the website.
  8. I can't imagine where this rumor came from but I feel we need 15 pages to discuss it. Er wait...
  9. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 06:05 PM) Obviously there were some shots at Bush and the WH. But what you quoted was not. But, no, I have no problem with that. Hers was a life heavily involved in politics, in recent years mostly spent in opposition to the policies of the current administration. To just ignore what's screamingly obvious b/c we gotta be nice to the Prez is a disservice to her life and memory. I do have a problem with the motioning, but that's about it. What I quoted was to show there was, in my opinion, political posturing. My point is I think that should have been saved for another time. It would appear that nobody there cared either
  10. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) That's just nonsense. Joking about Hillary running is a shot at Republicans? How? First, she's a Democrat which should be plain enough. But mostly it's totality of the circumstances. You have people taking shots at the war and the weapons of mass destruction, then you have Bill Clinton throwing in an endorsement for his wife's campaign at what should be a solemn service to remember a person's life. If they want to mention her anti-war ideas that's fine, but when you mention specifics about the war in Iraq and Chris Mattews says Jimmy Carter didn't acknowledge President Bush, what do you think the message is? This was an opportunity to gain and the Dems jumped on it. Whether you see something wrong with it is a matter of opinion but you have to see that there is something behind their actions.
  11. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) Leave it up to a bunch of leftist goons like these to use the memorial service of a great American like Correta Scott King to ambush the President. If I were Bush I would have blown them all off and had Bush Sr. blow em off too. f*** these prople. Agreed.
  12. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 05:33 PM) Politicians? Lowery is 85 or so. He's not running for office anytime soon, which means any time at all. Carter used to be a politician, but what the hell would he have to "posture" for now? She took a strong stand against the Iraq war. I don't think it should be ignored just because she wasn't concerned with that alone. What is this supposed to be? Political posturing doesn't have to be done just for one person. The whole thing is clearly a chance for the Dems to take shots at the White House.

    Vanity Fair nude shot..

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) I know, I know... it's a personal pref. I don't think she looks bad.. but I think she could tone up her lower half a lot. I agree with this, but those lips....oooohhhh those lips.
  14. I don't know much about numbers so it's tough for me to comment, but I think he should have added wild pitches to his numbers for a disrupted pitchers rather than just hit batsmen. Maybe I'm wrong.
  15. But NASA is an institution of science, so why should they bother with the religious implications? If people don't want to believe what NASA says that's fine but NASA shouldn't be forced to alter anything to cater to them.
  16. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 11:51 AM) I think I do... "Obsession with acceptance of one's existence" = personal freedom. Think about it. I guess Juggernaut is saying that personal freedom is a strictly American thing. Aside from the fact that he's manifestly wrong (virtually all cultures recognize this to some extent), it sounds like he is saying its misguided. That explains a lot of his other posts. No, I think it means that Americans are the only ones who care about what others think about themselves and seek to be accepted by meeting certain "norms." I don't think that's true either. I think this thread lost its original point a long time ago.
  17. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) linker I need to meet the people who come up with all the acronyms, that's gotta be a fun job.
  18. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) Does anyone know the full story on Mark B's proposal?? I remember him saying that they were in full camo garb and in a watch tower when he proposed. That's about it.
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 10:09 AM) Uh, is the moron standing right next to him before he takes off wearing retro a red white and blue Sox cap?? Could be a retro Braves hat that people in Milwaukee wear.
  20. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 05:02 PM) why??? coke and walgreens are very liberal companies. Walgreens and Wal-Mart had some contraceptive issues right? Well I guess Wal-Mart has lots of labor issues. Overall I agree with Nuke. If he wanted to lash out against authority why wasn't his teacher or principal on the list?
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) More likely the lack of interviews could be explained by this Ozzie quote... Uribe was once interviewed by either Mulligan or B&B and it was the worst (and in some ways the funniest) interview I had ever heard. He couldn't complete a sentence so whoever was interviewing finally just ended it and had to laugh. Once I saw that question about the Beatles I remembered that interview and I knew the answer.
  22. This all being discussed heavily in the Mets-Phillies fight thread.
  23. 18/27, changed a couple answers I shouldn't have...not that I really knew them. I'm surprised at how in depth that was.
  24. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) If this trade actually goes through, I can see one other positive benefit. If Urbina ever gets out of jail, he would likely sign with the Sox. With three of his best friends here, Ozzie, Freddy, and Bobby, there's no doubt he'd come searching for a contract in Chicago. I thought Minaya was assembling the all-Latin team.
