QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 12:11 AM) But your defense attorney might... And he would lose. For Lost's sake.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) not exactly a session beer, is it? It's not exactly a drinkable beer. It's a syrupy mess.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 08:53 PM) Lebron making me hate him more and more each day. But his ego might be what lands him in Chicago. Well the comment is kinda like Krause saying "organizations win championships." It's true but players will get mad hearing it. I think LeBron's brain is saying Chicago (or somewhere) and his heart is saying Cleveland. Right now, he is just looking for any perceived slight to push him in a certain direction. The Cavs have handled the whole thing very poorly.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 11:49 PM) I'm just saying that with so many snide remarks, like "Mark could pitch in the NL and he sucks in the AL," "Jenks might be able to close in the NL," etc., and all the mockery of the NL makes me wonder why the AL isn't simply beating the piss out of the NL every night. What's the total season series now? Does the AL have five more wins or so? Some make it sound like the NL is as bad as AAA ball. Yet if AL teams played AAA teams wouldn't they win about 80-90 percent of the games? As far as KW and Oz ... being two under .500 with a lineup this s***ty. Somebody is doing something right. This is proof you don't need to go fire everybody. The Royals, who got a little boost immediately after the firing, are back to s***. There is plenty of evidence that pitchers gain about a run on their ERA when switching from NL to AL. However, the real problem with you argument is that you aren't looking at the matchups. Not every AL teams plays every NL team. For example, the Sox are playing the Cubs, Pirates, and Nats. The Twins are playing the Phillies, Mets, Colorado and ATL. Which schedule would you rather face? The Twins are better than the Sox, but they aren't going to sweep the Phillies and the Mets the way the Sox can sweep the Pirates. Put another way, there are teams in the NL that are better than some AL teams. So the matchups are going to dictate the winning percentage.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 02:14 AM) Of course, all the Journalism schools I looked at recently require using Macs. >. Always look into discounts through the school. Many schools get pretty sizable discounts on computers and software. Hell, my law school gets a 20% discount on AT&T service.

So a long while back a friend gave me a Dogfishhead Raison d'extra in exchange for dog sitting. I finally cracked it and I have to tell you, it might be the hardest to drink beer on earth. Mind you all that don't know, it clocks in at about 18% ABV.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 07:28 PM) I figured they would have shown that? There's a thing about showing the President at a baseball game when a region of the country is under oil. That's not a political statement, just my opinion on why they didn't show him.

So wait, this thread isn't a joke?

I pre-ordered my first iPhone yesterday early in the morning. Everything looks set. We always had whatever was free with the plan but we felt we would use the features on the iphone so we are splurging on them. I'm very excited.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) I was hoping it was, but I think New York had 10, damn Yankees. Then again, M-Jeff is the only reason we are so high on the list. LA has 7 (pending game 7), if you count Anaheim they have 9. Yankees have 5 (right?), Giants have 1, Mets have 1...who else in the last 25 years?

Chicago is the only city that has championships in all 4 major sports in the last 25 years. 9 titles might be the most for any city over that stretch. And none are the Cubs.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) on B& B today Boers teased new Lebron/Bulls info, but I had to jump on a phone conference, anyone hear it? Boers claims that "his guy" says LeBron is not happy with the Cavs because the owner said they would make a coach decision without LeBron's input. It's not that LeBron wants input, but he doesn't want to be publicly slapped in the face either.

JR is not going to fire anyone. If anyone leaves it will be their choice. I think KW might be ready to move on and there may be teams ready to make him an offer. -

It's really a shame that last goal had to go down like that because all of the calls are terrible. -

QUOTE (vandy125 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) Anyone else see the 3rd period as being the prevent defense? That exactly what happened. The Flyers were outplayed and on their last legs and the Hawks took their foot off their throats. They didn't chase pucks, didn't attempt a cycle. -

Refs miss a trip which leads to a goal. Then Hossa gets pushed into Leighton and that's a penalty. I call BS. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 08:54 PM) He skated at the guy and bumped him. Given how loose they were calling everything for the rest of the series, I'm surprised they're being this ticky-tack for Game 6. The hawks are dominating so far and it'd be 1-0 without a weak penalty call. The second call on Pronger was pretty weak too. Especially considering all the bad crap he does. -

Second penalty on Pronger? Looks like the refs are watching tonight. -
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 05:46 AM) i used to think the same way when believe it or not someone caused an accident with me on purpose.. long story short, its snowy and sleety outside, guy cuts me off a split second before the light even turns green, then a couple blocks down SLAMS on the breaks and there was nothing i could do to avoid the contact, though the contact was so small. i got a ticket and a couple months later the guy tries suing me for 10k over medical bills. thank god allstate had my back!! And that guy is the real problem. Because Allstate and every other company has to pay a lot of money to defend against fraud claims, we all have to chip in a lot more.

QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 12:05 AM) If insurance compnies lived up to what they say, then technically insurance would be almost free. Here's my logic. Let's say you have to pay 1200 dollars per year. Allstate claims that you can save up to 435 dollars every year by calling them. You get their policy, and now you are down to 765 dollars per year. Next, call Progressive. They claim to save you up to 335 dollars per year. You cancell Allstate and get Progressive. Now you are down to 430 dollars per year. State Farm claims to save you 400 dollars per year. You cancell Progressive and get State Farm. Now you are down to 130 dollars per year. Lastly, call Geico. They claim to save you 15%. You sign with them and now you are approximately in the 109 dollar per year range. Divide that into 12 monthly payments of about 9 bucks. There, how's that for some twisted math? Except that logic is faulty because the companies are not claiming guaranteed savings. Drivers who switched to those companies saved that much. That means there were certain drivers who could save money by switching, so they did, and are being used as a basis for questionable statistics You may not save by switching. In fact you might pay more because you keep dropping insurance coverage which probably looks bad on a credit report (although I don't know that for sure).

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 08:00 PM) I wasnt overwhelmed. It was a solid upgrade, but I expect several Android phones to pass it in the next 6 months. I really wanted to like it (hoping it would come to Verizon). For those who are interested: iPhone4 vs Increadible vs EVO vs Nexus One I don't have an iPhone or any smart phone and my contract on my crap phone is expiring. Honestly, every six months something better will be coming out so either I dip in now or wait forever. Of course, the final decision is whether AT&T can be trusted here. I've never heard anything bad out here.
