  1. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 5, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) Dude, Augustin is simply amazing as well. As of lately he has been amazing...my point being, he has to continue to step up so there is not as much pressure on Durant. Texas has somewhat flown under the radar in for most of the early part of the year, because most people thought they were just Durant. The Big XII may only get 4 in, but I'm expecting 3 of them to get to the Sweet 16.
  2. The biggest knock I can say about Texas right now is they seem to fatigue rather quickly with multiple games over a few day span. They have played in several overtime games this year, and have looked sluggish in their next game down the stretch.... Now, I do like this teams chances to give a lot of teams hell in the tourney, but the rest of the role players have to continue to develop around Durant so there is not as much pressure to put up 35 every game.
  3. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 11:56 PM) It would be great if Depaul could make it to the semis and possibly get a bid. I was hoping for them to make somewhat of a good run in this tourney too, but that draw sucks for them. If they can claw for a win against 'Nova which will be tough enough, Georgetown would give them all sorts of problems in the Quarters. I was really hoping for them to get a 2nd round matchup with Pitt, Louisville or Norte Dame
  4. Texas up to a 4 seed in bracketology, when there were a few that questioned if they should be in the tournament a week ago. The defense and turnovers are concerns, no doubt. But I woulldnt be surprised if Durant could throw the team on his shoulders and make a run to Atlanta. Augustine has to be one of the most improved guards in the country as well.... Speaking of Bracketology.... don't like that 2nd round matchup for Kansas at all. Arizona or Kentucky at 8/9 seeds?? Two better coaches than Self as well.
  5. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 4, 2007 -> 12:59 AM) KU's 1900th victory in its history. KU's 50th conference title. THIS TEAM IS F'IN AWESOME speechless. awesome. did they cut down nets?? P.S. I hope you picked me up one of those b****in' shirts LOl
  6. Just thinking out loud, are all employees counted on and expected to love their boss?? I'd bet 95% of all players in the league are sick of their "manager's act." How many actually go out of their way to promote that they are playing for the best manager theyve ever had besides a Nefi Perez??
  7. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) marquette a 8/9 seed??? Same could be said about Kentucky and Oregon, I guess that's what 3rd/4th place in divsion buys this year. Not much room to get in the tourney this year from the outside.
  8. QUOTE(beck72 @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) Would Konerko sign a long term deal, and have guys like Dye and Thome around and want to stick around if Ozzie was hurting the team so much with his comment? I'm assuming it has something to do with all of those guys saying that Ozzie is the best manager theyve ever played for.... but I'm sure that's just media fodder right??
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:59 PM) Ozzie bashed McCarthy non-stop last year.....and we see what the end result of that was. Getting a potential #1 for the next decade??
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:49 PM) It has nothing to do with Brian Anderson's feelings or mental capacity it has to do with an unfair bias Guillen seems to hold against certain players, specifically the youngsters. Ok, I can buy that... but for specific young players. Players that have smelled the big leagues, but have done nothing with their routine or character to always improve. He seems to have something against players that are content in comfort zones, and I can't blame him for that. I've heard him say nothing but great things about Sweeney after his call up last year, and for al we know, he may have bigger plans for him. Don't get me wrong, I love Anderson and I want him starting in center too. But there's nothing wrong with some extra motivation from managers and coaches, and Ozzie has a different way of going about that... the players know it, and we should too. Anderson has done nothing to be just handed the starting CF job right out of the gate, make him feel like he has to keep earning that right. Not everything that comes out of Ozzie's mouth should be taken so seriously at this point.
  11. Why does this board and a lot of Sox fans in general have to take every single comment Ozzie says and completely overreact to it?? The only thing I take from this comment is maybe Brandon should have been more concerned with talking with guys like Burls instead of hanging onto a minor league buddy for nights on the town with their newfound success. It seems like Brandon was the type of player that never wanted to listen to what he superiors had to say, and was always on the one track mind of wanting to be the rotation. Even with the whining when they left him off the playoff roster, which was probaby when these tendancies started for BMac. Ohh well, wish him the best. Some of you are worried if BA is gonna be insulted by this comment, I personally would like to give the kid more credit than that, but appearantly we have a bunch of fans that think he is mentally soft or something.
  12. Looking at this Chicago bracket again.... not that it will look anythign like this, but it would be damn sweet if it did. Wisconsin playing the winner of Kentucky/Oregon Kansas playing (knock on Bill Self's wood) winner of Marquette/Stanford. Some nice 2nd round matchups here in the house of Jordan if this was true.
  13. latest brakcetology up.... Lunardi says KU's #1 seed is theirs to lose. The Phog is coming to ChiTown!! http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology
  14. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) No I just pointed that what seperates teams in my opinion is their ability to win games that they are supposed to win. Florida, Wisconsin, OSU, UCLA have all shown that ability. KU, A&M, not so much. I know your a big 12 guy so Ill take your comments with a grain of salt. You say "slump" when its really hard to say that Wisconsin is in a slump. They lost 2 games, 1 of them to the best team in the nation right now, and the other to one of the most talented young teams in the nation who have a player just starting to get healthy in Raymar Morgan. Slumping would be losing to a team like Colgate, or some outrageous loss that should never happen. Losing away to tournament teams really shouldnt be a "slump." Especially as OSU had the #2 class last year and MSU #17 so they are of course going to be playing better at the end of the year as compared to the beginning. And im not sure how you say "by my logic" with Tennessee. I just pointed out that the 4 teams I chose all have won games that they are supposed to win. That even their losses are not bad losses. Thats a direct to comparison to KU and why even though they may have top 4 talent, I would not pick them to go to the final 4. So because I'm a Kansas fan, appearantly that makes me a "big 12 blowjob guy" whatever the hell that means?? I'd love for you to show me where I was making the Big XII out to be something more than it is this year. I could give 2 s***s if you pick Kansas or not....the moment somebody questions the Badgers though, all of sudden you turn into the Billy Packer of the Big Ten.
  15. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 02:34 PM) Fun rumor that Tywon Lawson has been kicked off the team for not going to class... Which part was the rumor??
  16. First off, many people didnt pick A&M last night because Texas was favored. You can be confident in whatever teams you choose, I really don't need home records to validate your reasoning. I just thought it was odd that your most confident teams are amongest the biggest slumps amongest the elite. I could careless how many losses these teams had before conference started or if the schedule had Michigan State game earlier. I find it hard that Florida couldnt "get up" for Tennessee when the sole reason why Noah came back was because "I want to beat Tennessee twice." Easier said than done though, because with your logic, Tennessee would also be a final four team, having the all important 0 losses at home this year.
  17. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) Three teams I feel the most confident about: OSU, Wisconsin, Florida. you are aware that 2 of your "most confident" teams have lost 5 out of their last 6 combined??
  18. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) This guy is really funny http://www.newsobserver.com/1235/story/548156.html Daugherty at the end cracked me up.... wonder if UNC ever sent him his ring?? QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 01:23 PM) A&M was the game, we discovered the wonders of Sherron. That game changed the entire year so far. Tower did you see who ku is recruiting for 08, damn?? Bill Self loves him some McDonald's Happy Meals
  19. QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 12:10 PM) I'd say A&M is better than Kansas as proof of their win IN Lawrence, but maybe that's just me. I think Kansas will win because they are at home, but I don't think Kansas is any better than A&M. Carter and Jones fouling out among others was very key. Take away Wright and Chalmers from Kansas and the offense would operate around Rush. I'd take KU over A&M 4 times out of 5. Kansas truly shot themselves in the foot in that game, they had it wrapped up and didnt close out.... Acie Law took that opportunity and made the most of it by pulling the upset. Kansas was somewhat of a different team back then, lacking any chemistry whatsoever..... that game however, could be looked upon as where Kansas kicked their season into high gear because theyve been on an unstoppable tear since then. After last night, A&M seems like it is becoming much more of a one dimensional team that most people had thought about Texas.
  20. QUOTE(CarlosMartinez @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) Sadly you can't put your own music into the game. You can listen to it during menu screens, but you can't modify the game situations other than change the music that was already in the game. Turns out you can add songs, just not for each individual player that comes to the plate. You have to use your playlist from the songs you uploaded to your harddrive. ipods and that kinda stuff wont work
  21. Wasn't there a curse for each specific player last year when they were awarded the wallpaper schedule?? Love the wallpapers, but if this jinx continues, we may have to put the Chevy Pride Crew or some bs on these every month
  22. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) Thome swinging from his heels today. K. Inning over. Good. He's right on pace, we all know what happened after he waited to hit his first bomb in the last week of ST last year
