QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Off topic: That is an awesome avatar. I think you and I are the only ones that support him on this board....LOl All Bulls fans should be extatic after what Pax pulled on Portland...most Bulls fans are :rolly Good thing Pax knows what he is doing

When the fork is working, which it obviously was not today, he has to be considered up there with the nastiest stuff in the league right now. As far as what kind of real pitcher he is... listen to Don Cooper talk about him. The guy is made of stones. You can't just pick up a nickname like El Titan De Bronze for defecting Cuba.

Besides Burls start on Tuesday, weve been through the rotation twice now and our starters (including ETDB) have been very inconsistent and quality starts have been hard to come by. Nothing that is too alarming, especially with our offense right now, but it is something to take notice of. Weve been giving the opposition way too many baserunners, and we can't alway rely on our offense to pick up the slack. I'd like to see a starter go at least 8 over the weekend... I think Garland in Cincy was our only 8 inning start this entire month.

I like the potential set-up for concerts... hopefully this place will eventually drown the s***ty Tweeter Center. The worst ampitheatre in the WORLD.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) And when Tyrus Thomas averages 3 ppg and 9 rpg in 3 years, I will send you a PM saying "TYSON f***ING CHANDLER!" And if ESPN overhyped anyone, it was Randy Foye and JJ Redick. Be my guest to pm me, but I'm not gonna take the time to pm everyone that strokes Alderidge on this board in 3 years and say "f***ING CRAP" It easy to judge Chandler now, but at the time of his draft and his endless upside, I'd do that trade again in a heartbeat. The upside would have been Duncan/Robinson, we are experiencing the downside right now and still have made the playoffs more than Elton Brand. Soxtalk is the only website in the nation that has Alderidge going above 5, kinda low for a "safe" pick in this draft. Bulls should go after titles, not "SAFE" We are not gonna be in Grant Park next year unless Pax pulls a miracle trade to get Gordon outta here. QUOTE(WhiteSoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 04:20 PM) I havent read every post so sorry if this is repeated, but I just heard from another message board that talks have heated up between minnesota and chicago in which chicago would trade their 2 1st round picks along with Loul Deng for Kevin Garnett. :headshake :banghead :headshake -
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) I did my part. And I will continue voting like a Chicago election, early and often. I'm not saying that soxtalk members are the problem... but saying the Yankees fans are more competitive with a bigger fanbase is not an excuse. We had Pods beat Jeter and Matsui by nearly double last year for that final vote. Maybe we have to rely on the Sox to campaign every year in order for people to get "into" voting?? The last game(s) I was at last week against the Cardinals... in a 20-2 romp, people were making paper airplanes and littering the park with the ballots instead of voting. The ushers did their job by passing them out, just most of the fans had no idea what the hell they were, nor cared for that matter.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) Or they're just outnumbered by the sheer number of Red Sox and Yankee fans throughout the country. That would probably explain why Jason Bay is the leading vote getter in the NL, there isn't a day that goes by where I don't see at least a dozen Pirates hats

Official 2006 NBA Draft Thread

I can't wait for the Bulls to draft the FUTURE tonight with Tyrus Thomas and have everyone and their little brother cry in here on how they will never be a Bulls fan again, how it was the worst pick ever, how bad they wanted L.A. even though he'll be lucky to be drafted in the top 10....if ESPN overhyped anybody, it was Alderidge. Hell, before the lottery, there was a lot of people in here that warranted him as the #1 overall pick. All of that whine and maybe even a little throw in on how we need to start Jerry Owens over Pods in Left. The same people that will have Thomas sigs by Thanksgiving next year. -
If "Soxnation" couldnt pull together and get our most deserving player(S) starting the All-Star game, I very much doubt we can get one guy in. 3rd in AL attendence, not one All-Star starter. Sox fans are either lazy or just don't care.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 04:27 PM) It sounded as if those two would be given the rest of the week off when it first happened. However, hearing Silverman on yesterday and today, I wonder if Jeff Schwartz decided on an entire work-week off--dating back to the Tuesday or Wednesday the confrontation happened. Yeah, but the confrontation originally happened on Friday the 9th, so essentially theyve already been suspended for more than a week. Maybe gone???? -
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) I heard a lot of them groaning with Griffey struggling Yeah, I was really surprised to hear them BOO Griffey... and that was after his first AB on Friday. I mean I know they are probably frustrated with the injuries, but to BOO a future HOF'er, is ignorance. The next time he came up and the Reds fans started to Boo, I gave him a standing O, and I gave him another standing O when he flied out to BA.

Is ANYONE in Chicago even submitting ALL Star ballots?

QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) I have a dumb question, Who is going to represent the royals? -
QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) As long as we are up 8-0 and no one is on base for him, I say, let him play!!! That kinda sums up my feelings in benig excited to watch Griffey bat in the 1st inning on Friday.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 19, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) (unless the Cubs do something stupid and I don't see that) U do forget that they have King Clown on their team, Zambrano.... not that Ive even checked to see if we face him. If its not Jeremy Piven or AJ, they'll find somethign to whine about and take it out on us.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:15 PM) I do, i see him HE GONE in a month or two. Ozzie and KW are very big on team first. Agree. Ozzie knew what he was doing with purpose, and did what he did to prove a point to the team, the rest of the league, the fans, and even the media for that matter, that his team is not just going to roll over everytime this bulls*** happens to us. Tracey is a whipping boy here, but as far as we know, he disregarded his manager and his team.....but again, that is what is in question. Nevertheless, we are not to bend over everytime someone throws at one of our hitter's, this was a long time coming imo. Tracey just happened to be in the wrong sitaution at the wrong time. Does that make it right?? No Did it need to be done the way it was?? ABSOLUTELY.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) Haha, nearly word for word. I guess his reputation precedes him. Care to elaborate?? I never knew Caruso was a fan of the sticky green. Maybe I was just absent that day?? I suppose no surprise, wasn't there a poll a couple years ago that estimated that over 60% of major leaguers toke??
-
This poll is pretty irrelevant without all the facts and reasoning behind what anyone here saw or "heard". Was Ozzie right with the info that I know?? He's the manager, so absolutely.
-
Leaving tomorrow at 9am... will be there for Friday and Saturday's games. Anybody down to overtake Hofbrauhaus with silver and black either Friday after the game or Saturday before??

Patio Party @ The Cell. Is SoxTalk interested?
watchtower41 replied to Hangar18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
never can have enough patio parties..... though I believe all weekend games are sold-out for the rest of the season -
Burls needs a good showing against the Moccasins today.... he has been lit up quite a bit against Hafner & Co. so far this year.

QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ May 28, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) I thought Crede's was Move Along by the All-American Rejects? Not 100% sure on that though. CWSOX45 Recently changed to "World Wide Suicide" by Pearl Jam

QUOTE(YASNY @ May 26, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) Three lefties going against us in the next five games. Maybe he should appeal until we have a string of righties coming up, then drop his appeal. I was under the impression if a player appeals, he is allowed flexibility as to when he actually serves the suspension.

KU Basketball To Go Undefeated?
watchtower41 replied to Heads22's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) Dumb article, Kansas folks are morons sometimes...This is probably KU's best chances in 10 years though. 1998?? I love next year's potential, but they have no Paul Pierce on that team. edit: then again they did have Robertson running the point, where he was serviceable, he was also slower than Konerko. So I'll say 1997 with Jacque, barely making that 10 years though
