Edgar Martinez had a .300 season with am OPS of 800 by age 27, including about 1000 MLB PAs. Let's not be ridiculous here.

You are embarrassing all of us Midwesterners.

Yermon Mercedes in all likelihood is a 4A player. He has no defensive position to play. You are talking about his skills in the past tense like he has proven anything.

Not playing a back up DH is a bigger blunder than Tatis for Shields. This is officially a parody account now. Yermin doesn't rank in the top 10, let alone #1.

Come on man. You can't be serious with this.

False. Plenty have talked about it. Problem is those people don't talk about the teams upside at all.

This. If he could catch at all, he would have already been on the roster.

Vera hasn't officially signed yet, but because of COVID the situation is fluid. Even other members of the Sox class are signing on separate days, including a few over the end of last week. The older Cespedes has had no real rumors, but it was an interesting tidbit about the agent switch. Maybe an incentive laced contract draws him here? Who knows. The younger Cespedes is going to AZ for a separate minor league mini camp. He is not invited to spring training at this time, so there is a near zero chance he breaks with the big club unless something drastic happens.

Speaking of extensions, should the Sox approach Crochet about an extension, and if so, what should they approach him with?

It cracks me up when people have a point of view like this, yet spend hour after hour invested in these teams. If you really feel this way, why are you letting the man continue to violate you? Man up and walk away. Quit letting Jerry Reinsdorf live in your head rent free.

Yeah I am not going to go as far as some have to stan for Law, but in the case of Tatis, he was by far the first prospect guy to be talking about Jr.

After.

September 25, 2020: Selected off waivers by the Seattle Mariners from the Chicago White Sox. December 7, 2020: Selected off waivers by the Philadelphia Phillies from the Seattle Mariners. February 5, 2021: Selected off waivers by the Minnesota Twins from the Philadelphia Phillies. And then add today waived by Minnesota.

Ian Hamilton continues his Tour De MLB

These signings are still going on.

Sometimes, but we also know how willing the Sox media is to report something that the team didn't tell them to report

As of now, yes. But keep in mind these kind of deals can also include opt out dates by which if the Sox don't promote him, they have to offer to release him.

I think his leap last year three fold. #1 this is the best line up he has ever been in. #2, all of these kids he has been recruiting to the team are now here, and started making him look bad, so he took his off season to the next level and worked his tail off to get into the best shape of his life. I think he is feeding off of the energy and friendly competition within the organization. #3 with all of the hitters around him, he doens't have to press anymore. There are tons of other guys who can beat you, so he doesn't have to expand his zone to try to go out of his comfort zone.
