Look, you can doubt all you want, but the actions speak louder. Jerry already agreeing to sell has put a cap on what he can sell this team vs if they were just to wait until he died. If he didn't need a capital infusion, he wouldn't be selling.

Man our standards have just disappeared. Vargas is on pace for about a 3 WAR season, and that is the best of the lot. And that is "surprisingly good".

HE LITERALLY JUST SIGNED AN AGREEMENT TO DO SO

Yet here you are doing the exact same thing. Take your own advice and move on.

Is “The 78” Dead? Or even more alive? Fire announce plans for SSS

Yeah, the fact they are building 20k plus stadiums for pro soccer in multiple US cities right now tells me soccer has exploded in popularity in the last 30 years. Sure it might not be on par with the big 4, but it HAS grown a ton. -
If Vinny Capra can play 4 times a week, there is your ABs right there.

So what are the spending operations money on if it isn't a plug a hole in operations?

Yeah, that is a DEEP cut. -
He quite literally just agreed to sell the team and it was disclosed that they are taking out loans for covering operating costs. You don't take out operations loans if you aren't losing money.

The Sox are losing money hand over fist and are much more worried about capital projects versus getting a few more people to game this year. Do me a favor. Forget about 2025 and 2026 as competitive seasons. It isn't going to happen. Give it up. There isn't going to spending. There isn't going to be additions. There isn't going to be hope. The Empire isn't striking back until after a CBA and/or a stadium announcement, and that is at the very least.

If I had a house for everytime you said that.... Well I'd have Lawrence Kansas. -

And look, even if he needs some work, he obviously isn't getting that at Charlotte. These guys are all going to have to learn on the job eventually. The question is, should it be now while we are one of the worst teams in baseball, or when wins actually matter? That is unless these guys have that little faith in their development programs that they would rather send Vinny Capra out there on a daily basis than start one of their own guys.

Pretty much when we get articles like this, it seems as if we get a fraction of that return at the deadline. -

Hopefully he gets hit clean up soon so he too can be cut. -
Isn't this the entire point? If you weren't going to treat everyone differently based on underlying data and information, why would you spend money to gather it in the first place? I swear some people just reprint exactly what they are told. Either that or they never worked with data sets themselves. Data should always tell you what direction to go. If it doesn't, you aren't doing it right.

This. Look, I don't care if you make $7.25 an hour, or $40 million a year, having your employer lie to you and then publicly s%*# on you isn't cool.

Happy Machiavelli Day! -
Vinny Capra has a .290, not batting average, not on base percentage, not slugging percentage, but OPS. Hal of this roster is a complete mess and looks like a deer in the headlights at the plate. I mean it isn't like ARod is blocking Brooks Baldwin from playing time here.
-
This roster is LOADED with older AAAA players, well AAAA players at best. Some of these guys weren't even good in their AAA stops, but yet they continue to get start after start. Taylor is a great example, just like Rojas, Capra, etc.
-
Plenty of players HATED DHing and never wanted to do it. Some were even beloved White Sox.
