Sadly, I think the fragile state of Leury means he never develops into anything useful. He just misses way too much time.

The odds of Santana working back to his old self are way higher than Banuelos becoming a thing.

The biggest shame is that they can't count on Leury to stay healthy.

If this is being based solely off of spring training appearances, this isn't being done right.

He is also coming off of a pitching injury last year that absolutely sapped him. He has also made zero real pitching appearances this spring. He has one outing in a back field game so far. The irony of this is that Banuelos is also not throwing as hard as he used to throw. The odds right now are that Banuelos breaks camp with team and Santana stays until April 10th when the Sox need a 5th starter for the 1st time.

Boy would it be great to get some breakouts from this crew.

Because Santana has proven himself as a #2 to #3 pitcher at the major leagues and that could have huge trade value at the deadline.

We still have a few months to let it play out, but Witt seems to be the highest ranking guy right now. We'll see if that lasts. I know the "college bat" thing has become its own beast, but we also know the Sox have been willing to draft high school kids, they just seem to get picked right before our pick, forcing us to change course.

Minaya was put thru waivers, removed from the 40, and sent to AAA. He had lost velocity for some reason. No idea what is going on. Could be rust, could be something else.

I would think at 54 you would have better things to do than to try to be miserable about a game that literally doesn't matter.
