  1. I am going to go out and say that I doubt Adams or Stephens gets added to the 40. If the Sox saw them as needing protection, they would have added them a month early and had them up here for September.
  2. Of note for the White Sox, here is what they would face if they signed a free agent with compensation attached to them. This will apply to someone like Bryce Harper, but NOT to Manny Machado as he is not eligible for a qualifying offer from the Dodgers due to his midseason trade from Baltimore. • A team that neither exceeded the luxury tax in the preceding season nor receives revenue sharing will lose its second-highest selection in the following year's Draft, as well as $500,000 from its international bonus pool for the upcoming signing period. If it signs two such players, it will also forfeit its third-highest remaining pick and an additional $500,000.
  3. with still 93 losses. While correct, I am pretty sure 93 losses wouldn't have made a big difference to the more impatient crowd. Also worth noting is that their GM got fired for being a criminal.
  4. If we are just talking about off of the 40 man roster, this is what I see. Avi/Leury-Nontendered Not brought back-Farquar/Gonzalez/Scahill/Santiago (maybe a MiLB deal later?) Brought back-Shields DFA'd-Tilson/Garneau/Gomez I have no idea who Castro is?
  5. IIRC the cost to buyout Jones is actually more than his salary for 2019 should be.
  6. Dunn and Zack would be a big step down if he goes out, the rest are fungible.
  7. Unless the injuries get excessively bad (meaning all of Lauri, Jabari, and Zach miss signifiant time, the Bulls have enough talent to be not nearly the WORST team.
  8. Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't take those odds, but between the scope of the "investigation" and the Democrats unwillingness to do whatever it takes to stop the nomination, I really think he gets in. I don't see how he doesn't with the way the deck is stacked.
  9. if you look at the players, you will see there HAS been improvement. That was my point. That is also leaving out the Chris Sale's of the world who got us a good chunk of our top prospect lists.
  10. Yet, Tim Anderson is here and starting at SS, fully drafted and developed by the White Sox. Yolmer Sanchez is here signed out of Latin America fully signed and developed by the White Sox, as were Adam Engel, and Kevan Smith. Out in the pen, Nate Jones, Ian Hamilton, Aaron Bummer, Hector Santiago, Jace Fry, In the rotation Carlos Rodon. That is without getting to guys the Sox identified as minor leaguers and brought into the system, finished and are contributing.
  11. At the very least, there are people who need to walk away from their keyboards because they are irrationally angry.
  12. Give me one example of a better team in the 2nd year of a full rebuild.
  13. A DH platoon seems like a waste of resources with as limited as bench sizes are in 2018.
  14. Lmao, you are pissed off at the first ownership group in 50 years who was able to make a deal that kept the team in Chicago. The same type of deal that pretty much every single ownership group in professional sports has made over and over again... and you are STILL holding a grudge about it 30 years later. 30 years you have been pissed off about something that has happened a 100 times over AND ensured the White Sox would still be in Chicago for not only 30 years, but at least another 15 years. Quite literally what you want would mean no Chicago White Sox. You are quite literally mad that the White Sox are still here when you put together your irrational rantings combined with actual history. Even with hindsight shining that everything you are pissed off about is wrong, you can't give up the grudge you have held for 30 years. That is the very definition of nonsense. Stop calling yourself a fan.
  15. It is a cautionary tale of exactly how much things change in a year looking at those lists.
  16. What? If you listen to Soxtalk bad things didn't happen before JR took over.
  17. If the Sox aren't giving these kinds of incentives, they aren't getting any of the top guys.
  18. He even said ahead of this year that it would be the worst year of the rebuild. He was right. Go figure.
