  1. Ugh. Spinning this is not making it better. What the victim did or did not do is not germane as to whether a crime was committed here or not. It is only relevant if you are actively looking for someone other than the criminal to point blame at. The need to explore the victim's actions is of zero relevance here, and serves no actual purpose. The continual attempts to justify doing so is just victim blaming, intentional or not.
  2. I will never understand this being something that makes people so angry and miserable that they need to lash out about... yet keep doing it. If your fandom is that awful of an experience, you are doing it wrong.
  3. So instead of asking questions like is the testimony credible, could Kavanaugh be the type of person who could commit a crime like this, what do the witnesses say, is there anyway to investigate and corroborate/disprove the claims... you are hung up on the victims actions... and have no clue why that is a bad thing. Again, even if you don't realize it, you are framing the victim as having a level of fault here.
  4. Then why are you wasting your time here? You won't give them a penny, yet are letting them live in your head rent-free where you need to complain about them. Walk the walk and respect yourself first.
  5. One rule of Soxtalk: If you have managed to put me and this guy on the same page, you have achieved something special, and you should probably reexamine your basic assumptions on the underlying topic.
  6. You obviously don't see it now. Hopefully you see it one day without it being someone close to you as a victim to make you see it.
  7. You can say that wasn't your intent all you want, but it IS the result of these kind of posts.
  8. That's because there is no correct context for this. The only correct context is did it happen or not. Other than that, there is no correct context, especially one that looks to explore the victims role in the crime.
  9. You may not THINK you are victim shaming, but it an attempt to focus on the actions of the victim and in doing so question their morals and ethos, you are 100% clearly victim shaming.
  10. You are right that I focused on one part of your post, again, because it was trash. The last two sentences are absolutely 100% nonsense and irrelevant. The victim could have been a paid prostitute doing cocaine off of Kavanaugh's cock, and it wouldn't be relevant to the discussion at hand. The mere act of attempting to shift any blame at all in this to anyone but the criminals in situations like this is disgusting. It is victim shaming, 100%.
  11. This is trash. Putting the onus on victims to be above the criminals is nothing we do in another other area of crime.
  12. Let me say this clearly. The act of putting yourself into dumb, or even dangerous, situations does NOT invalidate anything that might happen to the person after putting themselves into that situation, even if they full well knew that something like this might/could happen. The ultimate responsibility rests 100% on the person committing the crime, period, end of story.
  13. More interesting quotes from yesterday https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/worst-of-rebuild-should-be-over-for-white-sox-hahn-says/
  14. There have been plenty of superstar free agencies in the last 20 years. Again, if you are only going to use Arod, that is pretty disingenuous.
  15. If your work is going off of a single offer, you are missing a rather large body of work when it comes to free agents signing with bad teams.
  16. How do you know this on the first part? As to the 2nd part that tells me the opposite. They are really interested in the guy and they wanted to get him here even in a worthless year to try to sell him on coming here. That is real interest.
