  1. TBH, Palka has some pretty big adjustments to make if he wants to stick around. #1 he has to learn to play a real position. #2 the pitching has adjusted to him, and now he has to figure out how to adjust back.
  2. Are you serious? Did you not see what he looked like in his first go round with Boston? He hasn't improved from 12 K's in 19 ABs? His first full month with the Sox was .182/.327/.668 and 38 K's in 88 PAs. He hasn't improved past that?
  3. Go season by season. Again, this is a great comp. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/baezja01.shtml
  4. He HAS improved a lot in those 162 games.
  5. As one of the few people who said this season would NOT be better than 2018, I will say that 2019 will be better than 2018. If nothing else happens, there will be more high end talent arriving in Chicago from the minors. That talent will struggle at times, but it will also be better than the placeholders they will be replacing.
  6. Just one person is saying that, to be fair.
  7. No. Just no. Have some patience people. This isn't an overnight process, and it was never meant to be one. That kind of mentality is what everyone seemed to want to stop two years ago.
  8. And essentially a rookie. This is how kids play baseball. They make dumb mistakes. This shouldn't be a surprise to people who have watched baseball for any amount of time.
  9. The major league roster will tell you where we are. As long as only the tip of the iceberg in terms of rebuild talent is in Chicago, it is going to be bad. There are literally 3 of the bigger pieces here. The rest are still fighting their way through the minors. Until we clear out the placeholder talent, it will be bad. But again, that is what a rebuild looks like. It takes time for these guys to get here, learn on the job, and figure out how to win.
  10. Attendance is the most predictable thing in the world when it comes to Sox fans. Like it or not, the Sox are on the more bandwagon end of professional sports. It isn't as bad as a place like Cleveland, but it is pretty bad. They desert in large numbers when the team is bad, and show up out of the word work when they are good. History clearly shows that. Chicago loves a winner, and the Sox are no different.
  11. The same people who always complain about the same things, will continue to do so no matter what thread is set up.
  12. When you said you weren't living in the past, you were just making stuff up.
  13. His reaction looks to me like there is an inside joke somewhere. He wasn't upset, mad, or confused. He laughed. My guess from being around a lot of teams is that the players in the clubhouse are giving him grief about it.
