  1. He did just lose a full season, so the age is a bit decieving.
  2. Interesting thread, including how the Bulls could have had the #3 pick.
  3. Zangari is trying to remake this thread by himself.
  4. This is a great question I don't think I have ever seen asked before.
  5. He basically didn't pitch for a calendar year. He needs to get back into rhythm.
  6. I saw Ray play. While being a pretty good player, he was nothing special. Again, the guy had a career OPS+ of 104. Yoan is already at 102. In his first 600 ABs, Yo has already equaled what Ray did for the balance of his career. At this stage of his career Ray was still about an 85 OPS+ player. As of today in parts of 3 seasons Yo has played in 149 games and 634 PAs, so basically a full season. He put up 20 Homer's, 28 doubles, and 7 triples. That is 55 XBH in basically his first season. Ray hit that many Homers twice in his career. He put up that many XBH 5 times in his whole career. I see a player that is already at a Durham level. Again this is his floor. He is already there. If he grows into his power and gains respect for his eye, forget Ray Durham's basic self, we are talking about Robbie Alomar. We are talking about a perpetual all-star.
  7. Really doubt it. They already have 40 man issues and still need to make space for Kopech and Jimenez.
  8. He has taken every single thing the Clintons did in office and taken it to the next level. It is rather amazing.
  9. 10 days would be the 19th for Avi Garcia, but there is also this.
  10. That all makes sense to me.
  11. Yeah, I don't know if it is just our team or what, but the pitching looks to be WAY ahead of the hitting down there. Don't know if that is because of pitchers parks, or that is where the talent is, or what.
  12. At this point I wonder if they have called Greg Oden to see what he is up to.
  13. The second pitcher of the game for the DSL team, Cristofer Melendez, walked 1 and struck out 10 over 5 IP.
  14. Spike was always a tough little bastard. The type of dude you HATED playing against. Always in the right place and making the right decision. Didn't think he had enough ability to play real D1, but loved watching him play as a fan. I was going nuts the night he went crazy in the first half of the title game. McGary I watched have one of the best HS games I have ever seen in person against my HS. He put up 28 points, 20 rebounds 12 blocks and 8 assists in a game against us. (and I don't say that lightly, I am a HUGE Indiana HS basketball fan, and have seen somewhere around half a dozen Mr Basketballs, and about a dozen future NBA players play in person at the HS level over about 30 years) I really thought he was destined for the big time, but he had some off of the court stuff that torpedo'd him. I always though Glenn was a bit soft and full of himself in HS, but they toughened him up a lot when he got up to UM. He came together and really realized his potential. He has a nice ability to come in as instant offense of of the bench. He has done really well by himself though. He made himself some nice money with the Pistons contract he just signed.
  15. A few years back I was pulling hard for UM when they had Mitch McGary, GR3, and Spike Albrecht up there. They are all kids who played in the conference where my HS is in, and are all great kids. Was also a big fan of the Fab 5 team, and the Glenn Rice team. I definitely pull for them when they play ND in FB.
  16. Nope, the opposite. I went to a small college and ever really had a horse in the whole Purdue/IU/ND crowd, but I mostly root for teams that I know kids from the area who are playing for the respective schools. ND is on my can't stand list.
  17. You are being especially obtuse and angry in all of this, and I am not quite sure why, but sure whatever. You have fun doing whatever you are trying to achieve here by arguing against your own posts.
  18. You posted three names earlier in this very thread, and that it would be a total of five players.
  19. The return has been reported in many places. Sure Baltimore can do their typical dance and torpedo the deal, but that doesn't change what was agreed to as the return for Machado, and you know this.
  20. I can say that living in a City that is pretty close to evenly split between black and white, there are plenty of HS kids who use the word N***a as a term of endearment to friends with a meaning of "buddy" or "pal" and it is socially acceptable there at the high school level (both with white and black kids and across racial barriers). Now that changes once you get out of there, and into the adult world, but I have heard it a million times in the high school proper. You also get into a weird zone when you are talking about rap lyrics, because in many places, the white kids listen to it just as much as the black kids do. NWA, Too Short, Slick Rick, Ice-T and many others were on my playlists at that age, and again it wasn't strange. It was normal. Now that being said, I have no idea of Haders upbringing or background, but it does happen. No idea what is in his head and his heart to know if he was just trying to be "cool", show off for people, or really is a bigot. That really can't come from tweets. I will say based on his teammates reaction, they seem to be buying his side of the story, which is probably the biggest hint we can get as to his personality coming from people who know him intimately.
  21. Realistically, you could make a case for a number of players falling into the "just missed" category.
  22. Engel seems to have lost his spot to Tilson over the last week or so. I would almost rather see Palka go back so that he could play every day instead of filling in occasionally.
  23. Logic also wouldn't dictate a rental would bring the kind of return that Machado just did, but there it is.
