Chris Sale scratched from start
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 05:20 PM) So who did it involve? From the conjecture, it was clubhouse staff.

David Robertson is a fantastic closer
QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 05:20 PM) Oh boy, this.....this. I said before the inning that Robin may as well bring in Kahnle so as not to expose Robinson any more than he already has been. Plus he pitched already today. Wins for the Sox don't matter anymore. Another stupid Robin move. Kahnle had already pitched two days in a row, throwing 3 innings and 48 pitches. He wasn't exactly fresh either.

Chris Sale scratched from start
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 04:19 PM) The Harvard lawyer couldn't figure out a way to negotiate a reasonable accommodation for the best player on the team? This didn't involve Hahn until Sale lost his mind again.

Tigers vs Chisox 7/24/16
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 05:00 PM) Sale is to blame as much as anyone. He's the one who depleted the pen . Yep.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) That really is a lot of worthless information, but I don't really care if the haul they received was Moncada + 3 others and Moncada busts...as long as 2 or 3 of the others are good players in 2-3 years. Looking back through recent history, how often is the return that high in retrospect?

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 03:08 PM) WTF? Patc just said we wouldn't be able to win for 5-7 years if we don't keep one of Sale or Quintana because we wouldn't have an ace. I'm saying that one specific need can be filled over the next several seasons by blowing it up. That doesn't change the fact we can't fill numerous needs over the next two or three years before Sale leaves us via free agency if we hold onto our pitching assets. Not sure what you're getting at here... The farm system is going to produce no matter what happens to Chris Sale. It doesn't make sense to assume it will if Sale is dealt, but there is nothing to come from the system if we keep Sale.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 03:01 PM) Why can't we draft, trade, or sign one eventually? If we have top 5 picks for a few years, we'll have a great chance at landing one. And if you deal Sale and Quintana, you're probably targeting a potential TOR starter in one of the deals. Plus we have Rodon and Alec Hansen (wild card) with ace potential already in the system. Wait, weren't you just saying that we had no chance of adding talent around this team now, why would this only work if you trade away your best players?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 01:48 PM) In fact, Nate Jones is 3-22 in his career for save opportunities. Sucks to be a set-up man, as allowing a game-tying run in the 7th or 8th when your team was leading, or giving up the lead, = blown save. While getting no chances to register a save. Seriously. Using blown saves to talk about anyone other than actual closer is one of the worst uses of stats in all of baseball. This is way worse than using wins for a starting pitcher.

Saves as an evaluation of a set up man? Come on dude.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 01:41 PM) I look forward to my morning drives listening to Mully and Hanley this week. Cubs fans will be calling day and night asking why the White Sox won't trade Sale for Soler and/or Baez. Always entertaining. Solution. Turn that s*** off.

Chris Sale scratched from start
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:50 PM) I'm not on Sale's side. He needs to show more maturity. It was an internal matter and mgt should have handled it internally. They don't have to air all the dirty laundry. I have yet to be convinced this actually happened. All of the slave local media was all telling the "flu" story. I think the Sox were trying to cover for him again.

2016 Republican Thread
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:44 AM) You keep changing your argument and you still haven't stumbled on a good one. Who is being stereotyped here? What's the stereotype? Where did you get the impression it was okay? I said this email was scummy. It's s***ty that many Christians don't like atheists and it's s***ty that political people would consider taking advantage of that fact. But why you think that is similar to demonizing snd scapegoating groups with made up stories and statistics to make people hate them is beyond me. The closest parallel to Trump this could possibly have would be when Trump kept suggesting Obama might be a Muslim, except he actually did that repeatedly and did so completely disingenuously while these people just considered this lame tactic and actually think Bernie is an atheist (which is probably true too). So its better that the DNC did it secretly in emails behind the scenes. I see.

Game Thread 7/23/2016
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 02:06 AM) Cmon. You think his teammates feel let down? This is millionaire baseball. They know Sale's a f***ing stud and KW and the rest of the suits are clowns. This team proved long ago this season it's not a "team." They don't give a f*** what Sale did. He backs it up with performance. He's the best player on the damn team; he can do whatever he wants. Chris Sale is just as spoiled Millennial.

Chris Sale scratched from start
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 11:02 AM) Weirdest thing yesterday was right when this started I get the message, "It's nothing. Sale has the flu." Then immediately after I tweeted it, Doug Padilla, John Greenburg (spelling? name?) and Scott Gregor all tweeted the same. Obviously this wasn't the case but how do four different people get the same wrong story in a matter of 20 minutes. It was very fishy to me. Really seems to me like the Sox tried to protect Sale, again, as all of the locals got the same cover story early. Again, my guess is someone else was in the clubhouse that helped the real story get out. Was that another reporter? Was that a disgruntled teammate? Remember there was already some dissension over the LaRoche incident. To me that is the most interesting part of this.

Chris Sale scratched from start
QUOTE (captain54 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 01:45 AM) Where do you come up with some of this stuff? That's really not true at all. Anger management has nothing to do with intelligence or mental capacity or strength. Could be genetic, physical, cultural and social upbringing, PTSD. etc It's like saying someone with depression, chronic anxiety, fear or has a phobia is mentally weak Good Lord. Stick to baseball, man Which of these things does Chris Sale have?

Chris Sale scratched from start
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 11:55 PM) No offense dude, you can call out Sale for being immature and hot-headed, but don't question his loyalty. He's been awesome to his teammates, our fanbase, and the organization. Just because he doesn't see eye to eye with KW at times doesn't mean he's not a loyal dude. It's pretty sad this incident is going to cause some Sox fans to change their perspective on him. If he is putting himself into situations where he is taking a knife to uniforms just because he doesn't want to wear them, the only person he is being loyal to at that point is himself. Sure 99% of the time he has been a good solider, but something like this is inexcusable. I can't think of a single situation similar to this in pro sports, back to the whole McMahon headband thing.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:54 PM) Am I missing something? Did atheism become a race? lol, OK, stereotyping entire groups of people for political gain is more technically correct, but apparently OK now because the Dems are doing it.
