  1. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 11:07 PM) I think we should do the opposite. It is working quite well If by "working quite well" you mean "turning the game threads into unreadable cesspools of drama and hormones", then yes, I agree.
  2. QUOTE (shysocks @ May 1, 2016 -> 04:48 PM) Also, I know we discussed this plenty in the game thread, but it can't be emphasized enough. Gerry Davis just vomited out an all-time bad performance by a home plate ump. The game thread had some gems of its own. Seriously, it looked like we lost by ten runs at points.
  3. We finally get Avi hot and he pulls a hami. Hopefully this doesn't screw him up longer term, and it is just a blip on the radar.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 06:47 PM) Trading Anderson makes little sense if you look at how many position players potentially will be gone after 2017...which is pretty much everyone but Abreu and Eaton. You simply can't continue to not produce ANY regular position players internally and continue to compete at a mid-tier payroll number and with mid-tier revenues. Realistically, the only way to do that is to be able to find a Jose Quintana, Latos, JD Martinez, Colin McHugh, etc., with your scouting department and not ever have to pay top free agents. That's just incredibly difficult to do consistently against 29 other organizations that are all looking for the exact same assets you are. Whether Anderson is at SS, 2B, CF or DH, he needs to be in our future batting order. The only way the White Sox consider trading Anderson is if they get a superstar player back in the deal. Remember the Reds wanted him, and the White Sox walked away from the Todd Frazier deal because of it.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 09:26 AM) There were definitely some rumors of bad blood between Robin & A.J. Eh, probably more like everyone and AJ.
  6. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 10:37 AM) Thought it was very interesting that the Sun-Times beat writer wrote Saturday that "Ventura is standing behind his veteran left-hander, but the decision to keep Danks in the rotation goes above him." If true (and I have no idea if it is) that seems to be an unusual situation where the field manager isn't making the decisions the directly impact the club. Mark The General Manager makes the roster decisions. That isn't unusual, that is his job.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 08:14 AM) Stop breaking the rules OP and delete this thread. Huh?
  8. Chicago White Sox ‏@whitesox 2h2 hours ago Dan Plesac (@Plesac19) will fill in for Steve Stone in the TV booth for the White Sox-Yankees series on 5/13-15 in New York.
  9. Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 1h1 hour ago #WhiteSox' 16 wins in April are one short of franchise record set in 2000 (17-8), 2005 and 2006 (17-7 each).
  10. Chris Kuc ‏@ChrisKuc 42m42 minutes ago #Blackhawks agree to terms with forward Luke Johnson on a three-year contract. Helped lead North Dakota to the NCAA National Championship.
  11. Jane Lee ‏@JaneMLB 20m20 minutes ago Chris Bassitt goes on the DL with a strained right elbow.
  12. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) He's a 22 year old in AAA that has produced at every level. Relax. Especially since he has typically been a slow starter at each level.
  13. He is finally looking at more pitches and working deeper into counts. If that switch is really going on, it could change his career. The tools are there, he just needs to quit swinging at everything.
  14. After watching Johnny Football self-destruct, I don't blame teams for being scared of drafting the next one.
  15. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) Those increases just took his low velocity from before the trade/demotion and compared them to his highest velocities post trade. Not an exact science obviously, but players dont just add that type of velocity later in their career. No actual tie to PEDs for him, but as stated above "fool me once..." It really doesnt pass the eye test and you cant really fault people for being skeptical. Looking at his pitch numbers, most of his increases came when he was still with Baltimore, not since he got the Cubs. Also interested is that his velocities are down across the board this year.
  16. Cubs Sox games this year will probably be pretty similar to a Donald Trump rally this year.
  17. On the menu for tonight.
  18. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) Wonder what made him say that He's not stupid.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 12:10 PM) The worst is the people that keep pretending like signing Danks was flipping Buehrle the middle finger. Also ridiculous. You just don't a young left hander who was putting up numbers like Danks was get away. If they give you a chance at a below market extension, you take it. The injury is just what the risk is in a deal like this. At the end of the day, Buehrle stayed here anyway, and wasn't returning, not because of Danks, but because the Marlins paid stupid money to get him.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) I feel like there are people who think Danks didn't deserve his contract and it makes me sad. I would love to see Danks figure out a new pitch or anything to get back on track. Hopefully they DL him and he can tinker. Anyone who is saying that Danks didn't deserve that contract is full of hindsight.
  21. I am going to guess the Bears pick Henry from Alabama.
  22. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 09:26 AM) With this defense is a call to MB an option........ Knowing Mark, I just get the feeling he is done. I can't see him wanting to put in all of the work to get back into shape to pitch for a few months. If he had wanted to pitch this year, he would have done so.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 09:11 AM) Yeah just a sad situation. I hope we do a DL stint first. I really don't think we are improving with any of our options. Definitely one egg short right now. That's just it. Everyone wants a change, but we are just swapping one poo filled diaper for another. I honestly think our next big move will be for a pitcher, not a hitter.
