  1. We literally have three game I can remember that we had a 95%, or higher, chance of winning, which the Bears lost. Those games alone make this a 7 win team. Pick a game like last week or this week , and that makes 8 without any real crazy "if only" type scenarios.
  2. The Bears are the White Sox of the NFL. No football IQ, at all.
  3. Sure. It's not like it was a fluke and he got figured out, what with his major league success and all. Obviously it worked.
  4. Yet pretty much all of MLB was ready to do so.
  5. The whole world thought Nick was a high first round pick. If the Sox didn't select him, someone else would have. The Sox failed in developing him. Luis Arraez and Kwan show you that it CAN be done with a guy of his skillset. Granted, they could have drafted better, but don't let that failure, hide the development failure here.
  6. The thing is there is a team out there in our division who turned a Madrigal like player into one of the leading skill hitters in baseball in Steven Kwan. Of course the Sox rushed Madrigal and we will never if taking a more deliberate and intelligent approach to his dev would have changed his path enough.
  7. Letting Crochet walk away in two years would be corporate negligence.
  8. Hell they didn't act like 2024 was a rebuild year until they got on pace for the worst season in the history of baseball.
  9. The Golden State Warriors are in the same market as the A's... well at least they were.
  10. It should be for Chris Getz. Let's see if he can take advantage this time.
  11. I would have made Andrew Vaughn homeless first, but you know...
  12. And here's the thing, even with the pool of money the teams receive, it isn't cheap to run an MLB franchise. Take the White Sox numbers from 2024. Their 2023 payroll number was $187 million according to the spring 2024 Forbes numbers. Even with that number, the Sox had ANOTHER $129 million in operations costs NOT related to payroll, as even with revenue of $288 million, they lost $28 million on paper. We all know the Sox operation is one of the smallest in baseball, so even if teams start with $200 million in revenue on day one, most teams are going to have more than $130 million in operations costs before they ever cut a payroll check. Looking at revenue is a data point, but if you aren't looking at expenses too, you have no idea what you are actually looking at. It's like looking at someone's house value and assuming they are a millionaire because their place is worth a million dollars. It has nothing to do with their actual cash flow and liquidity.
  13. Hearing Hays story, if you are convinced of his return to health, he makes sense as a flip candidate.
  14. If it isn't, why do you keep saying it like it has meaning?
  15. Him asking for a lot isn't a problem for me, it's him not panicking if he doesn't get it on Day 1 of the winter meetings that matters to me.
  16. I don't think effectively saying if the Orioles graduate their top 10 the Sox system might be better is the flex you think it is.
  17. For the record, I would rather pay Nicky again than Madrigal.
  18. 1. He sucks. 2. He's overpaid at any salary. 3. He's not got six years of control or someone who could be flipped at the break.
  19. Burn it all to the ground. Everyone from Poles down goes, and find some adults.
  20. The irony being as baseball has gotten more detail oriented with analytics and stats, and the White Sox have refused to go that direction, they have fallen further and further behind the rest of baseball. Or can we not use wins and losses to determine if a team is bad? Is that allowed? Is that factual enough?
  21. Yes, the way to make miserable people to see the light isn't for the White Sox to get better, it is for them to just deal with it.
  22. That is exactly what his post was, thanks.
