  1. Eh, it sounds good, but in reality there is always this period of time where teams are homeless. It happened to the Yankees with YES, it happened to the Dodgers, and it happened in Houston where they had so few carriage agreements they managed a 0.0 rating at one point. This is how nine figure corporations negotiate with other billionaires. They go as they think they can go to win a negotiation for a few more points of profit margin. None of this should be surprising, and it sure isn't unusual.
  2. Kind of like how Chris got his last promotion?
  3. Maybe you have been conditioned to accept that from Jerry, but that isn't true in a lot of other markets.
  4. Please stay healthy! Gives Rodon vibes. The stuff is can't miss, but he needs to be available.
  5. You have a lot more faith in the Sox communications than I do. If it isn't sales, they don't care.
  6. Well we can offer an incredible opportunity at a great toxic relationship to replace his current one if he is looking for a quick bounce back.
  7. I will say this much. Obviously we have no idea what is going on because no one tells Sox fans anything, and there are only scattered reports of rumors, but if we are actually interviewing candidates, this is at least a step in the right direction to run a baseball team like a late 20th century entity. We may still end up with a disaster of a manager, but even progress is progress. At least it is a sliver of a chance vs zero chance at all.
  8. The last four years have been disastrous for his bottom line. High payrolls and low attendance.
  9. This. Instead of the carriers being able to sell the ad time, they do directly and keep all of the dollars.
  10. Or... You live in your parents basement You live in Bridgeport but don't want the White Sox to move out of a neighborhood they have been in for over 100 years. You crave one-upmanship on internet forums. You are a know-it-all. There are other less generous explanations.
  11. Honestly that makes a lot of sense. Most people don't have the memory to wait 2 to 4 years to punish a pol who shoves money at Jerry.
  12. Well he trends out to Tony's type of manager. -Ejected a lot -Loves to sacrifice -Loves the IBB -Terrible at challenges
  13. So wait, if he isn't lying...
  14. Would Nevin correspond to Tony's time in LAAAAA?
  15. Thanks for putting this together. Would be interested in a cross checking of who played/coached/scouted/work with Getz.
  16. I mean yeah, it's a thought, but Rodon never wanted an extension here as a Boras guy. He wanted to hit free agency and strike it rich, which is exactly what he did. Unless we were willing to out bid the market, he wasn't going to extend here any longer than he had to. He was never going to be "easily retained". He was always going to the highest bidder which was never going to be the Sox, and honestly when a guy has that injury history, I can't blame them for that one.
  17. Oh they 100% were considering giving up a couple of more rounds in this pick.
  18. And if you put together a rebuild, you don't presumably put a washed up manager 10 years out of the game to go behind it, but here we are.
  19. What if I told you that different people can have different points of view on the exact same topic? Nah, obviously one of you is lying.
  20. With 6 full games under his belt, the Bears basically need another 2.5 games played by Fields to upgrade the pick they get from the Steelers.
  21. The theme of 2024 was pretty clearly if Chris Getz got a choice between Player A and Player B, which ever player he chose was awful, and the player he let walk away was a serviceable player in another organization
  22. That would honestly make a lot more sense.
  23. Yeah, they most of this year like they were "trying" to win. Kids didn't get played primarily until after the roster was turned over after the trade deadline. They were running guys like you mentioned, plus other horrible players like Maldonado out there on a daily basis even when it was obvious they were horrible and had nothing to lose by moving on.
  24. And refused to start Fletcher for most of this season.
