  1. He was our highest ranking signing at the time for a while. He did NOTHING.
  2. Oh please. There are like three systems in baseball which are perfect matches to the Sox, and this is one.
  3. I wonder how much of his contract the Sox would have to pay to get a team to take a chance on Benny? If the Sox picked up $10m of the $15 per year would it work? $12? I mean they have to pay him anyway, would a little relief be better than nothing?
  4. Yeah, this isn't really true. Plenty of teams will line up to take shots at him after this year. Again look at Tyler Glasnow. Despite his crazy injury history, not only did the Dodgers throw legit pieces to get him, the hooked him up for 5 years at $27.5m per year. He's in line for plenty of money, injury or not. Sure injury free gets him Cole money, but it isn't like he is moving into Section 8 housing if he gets another injury.
  5. There are a few of those guy floating around the netherworlds. A guy like Davis Martin will also happen soon enough.
  6. I am sure the Sox will eventually leak it, but I would love to know what mortal sin that Colas committed, and how to get Sheets to do the same.
  7. You say this like there are tons of better options at all of these spots. We open up the doors for guys like Sosa, Julks, and Colas (well maybe), but we really don't have guys ready, which is why these trades are so important. We need to find those guys before things start to get better.
  8. Yeah, don't know how interested they are in a big deal with someone and/or the Sox, but the they still have the firepower to pull a top flight position player into the fray.
  9. I was actually thinking exactly this, as it leaves the top 10/15 entirely in tact. Lord knows Seattle needs boatloads of help right now.
  10. The Getz Defense team is still in full Blame Hahn mode of the honeymoon phase. They are feeling pressure, but nothing like they will be in a year or two when there is no one else left to blame.
  11. They do in that they aren't getting the future talent they need to really start the upswing for the franchise. Instead, they will being losing control on depreciating assets with nothing behind them. It is the worst case scenario.
  12. This is about the same return that AJ Puk got. Hitters just don't get the same demand as pitchers do at the TDL. Just hold on to Robert if this is what the market looks like. You have three more years of control to still work with.
  13. Pitching at the deadline is where the overpays happen. Hell just look at the Sox deadline deals last year.
  14. To be fair, the Sox sabotaged him for years by rushing him to the majors and stuffing him in the pen while never coming up with a plan to start him again.
  15. Those all seem a player or two light. Neither has more than headliner.
  16. For the record Puk and Tanner Banks, both LH longer relievers with very similar numbers, with Banks having more contract control.
  17. The Astros don't have much. I have to imagine another team would easily outbid them.
