  1. At least when your roster has the talent for half that.
  2. He obviously wasn't ready and it showed. Which is why calling him up instead of someone with more experience was dumb in the first place, let alone now after to lost him for nothing.
  3. DeJong does it, cool. Rookie does it and gets exiled to Elba, or maybe Charlotte.
  4. Not to mention this becomes a quality flex when you remember who was responsible for guys like Ellis getting developed was someone you might have heard of before.
  5. Roster management is quite literally the job of the GM. I don't even know what else to say. We are having a conversation about a player being lost to the waiver wire and somehow the GM isn't to blame? Uh, sure.
  6. The idea that the Sox players are too stupid to know when to go full out or ease up is probably the most valid one you have made in a while.
  7. But chasing those people around to argue with them is complaining about complaining to complain, and is way better. And yes you can absolutely judge him for protecting the worst catcher in baseball with another terrible minor league catcher and giving up prospects to do it when you have career minor leaguers who don't matter who you could have used in the panics.
  8. If you think Getz isn't making moves that deserve mockery, well that explains why you arguing this is OK in the first place.
  9. I think the need to oversimplify things is why you are confused.
  10. I am clearly say Duke Ellis is raw and unready for MLB paced baseball at this stage of his career. I am not sure why this is confusing.
  11. I don't know if it was, but auto-correct jacks more of my posts than it helps.
  12. You do understand that age isn't everything an experience at relative levels matters right? It isn't nearly as simple as age
  13. He's played like 50 games at AA. Again, there is a massive difference between Winston Salem and Chicago when it comes to the skill of their opponents. Duke is effectively learning AA speed, and got thrown to the Wolves at full speed. It's like taking the NCAA champion in the 100 meters, and putting him into an Olympic heat.
  14. Except it does happen. Guys get picked off. And it is going to happen more often to guys who aren't ready to be in the majors when they are called up.
  15. I am just going to say this outloud, there is a real chance that Robert never got back to 100%.
  16. The game is a bit different between AA and MLB, which is the entire point. You know the whole bigger, faster, stronger thing.
  17. Boring would be a huge upgrade over historic disaster.
  18. Look I would even have been OK if Chuckie was signed and brought up to replace Moldy, and we just went with a Quero for a 3rd catcher, or saw who was available on the street if one of our other guys got hurt, but Moldy is just historically bad, but apparently has nudes of Getz somehow.
  19. I mean yeah, but that's what happens when a GM plucks a non-ready kid with like 50 games worth of experience at AA up into the majors and have him do the things that Pedro did. You aren't really putting him a position to understand what is going on.
