20 shots in the first by the Hawks, they lead 2-0, it could be a lot more.

Jesus does Toronto suck. I know their record is bad, but this is the first time I have seen them this year.

As long as they keep winning before The Trip, I will be happy. I get happier everytime I hear that Hossa is progressing well too.

Sox GM Meetings
I think he also realizes that the way the market went last off season, the best signings might occur at the end of the period, because not many teams are going to have cash to spend.

Official 2009-2010 NCAA Basketball Thread
QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 11:56 AM) Season opener is tonight for the Gophers! Both are exhibition games were complete blowouts and I'm expecting more of the same tonight against Tennessee Tech, but I'm pumped that regular season college basketball is back. This is the second best time of year behind only baseball season Good god, when does Minny play a real team?

Wilson Betemit
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 11:54 AM) I wouldn't have thought to look in the blanket MLB thread. No fans of Betemit left to even wax sadly for him...

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 09:05 AM) Unfortunately living in a 0% tax environment that you'd like to see would probably cause chaos. It has already caused lots of problems as about half of the country is there now.

Sox GM Meetings
QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 08:18 AM) This has been my thought process for a couple of months now. I think that you now have true Sox fans excited about next season with the potential (almost sure thing) awesomeness of our starting rotation. I think that if you now take a plung and add that "big bat" you will then get the casual fan excited about next year and ticket sales climb. When Kenny said something the other day about trying to get Jerry to up the budget a little bit it made me think that Kenny is thinking along these same lines (at least I hope that he is) and has a trade in the works for this "big bat". JMHO Big budget increases at the exact time the Sox revenues are taking the biggest hits from this recession is just about as much of a fantasy as some of the trade threads that populate Soxtalk during the offseason.

Danks and Floyd "highly unlikely" to be dealt
QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 08:44 AM) I saw that, but keep in mind who that was written by. He does have a very good point though. The Cardinals don't exactly have a history of breaking the bank for players, nor having a very big payroll. If Pujols were to ask for a 10 year deal at $300 million, or even $250 million, do they pay it? Do they hold on to him through his current deal? Or do they try to rebuild the franchise by dealing him? I don't know how likely or unlikely it is, but it isn't that difficult to put together a scenario where Pujols gets traded.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 07:22 AM) I dont see them as must keeps like Kaner, Steeg, Toews, etc. I think Hjalms and Keith are a tier above them. That doesn't make Seabs and Barker any less good. The two guys you mentioned are two of the best in the game.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 11:37 PM) If i was the Nats i'd sign Prior to a minor league deal. Couldn't hurt to have him offering some incite to Strasburg. For a minor league deal, he should be able to find some offers. I wonder if he will even get an invite to spring training.

Sox GM Meetings
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 10:48 PM) I would like to see them take a risk and go up to $120M. Give those starters some more confidence. Having a starting 4 like this at trying to be cheap at the same time is like Culter trying to work with the Bears O. What risk are you taking? Eight season tickets?
