  1. Nice to see something out of Garrett Wolfe, even if it was garbage time.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 4, 2009 -> 02:57 PM) How bout Hudson be one of our relievers starting NOW. I'd rather see him out there than the usual suspects. Unless you think his future is in the pen, he needs the innings to work on that third and maybe fourth pitch.
  3. Something in the bible about the world ending with a whimper, I think they were talking about the Sox.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 4, 2009 -> 08:23 AM) Throw out the 6 earned Freddy was charged with in his last 1 1/3 against Detroit last Saturday and his ERA is 3.46. I don't think there is many that thought he would perform anywhere near that level with his 84 MPH cutters. For $1 million, he's a no-brainer to return. Unless he is injured, he is our 5th starter. Let Hudson go through a full spring training with the big club, and let him go down to Charlotte to work on his third pitch. Call him up if Garcia falters or is injured. There is no need to rush this kid if this is what we are getting from Freddy.
  5. Even after a bad season I hate the last day of the baseball season. It means the arctic winter starts... six months of no White Sox.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 4, 2009 -> 02:46 AM) Both Det and Min win. Game 163 on Tues in Min - Min wins. Detroit burns. Detroit is kinda like the Springfield tire fire... it has been burning for years.
  7. Me, myself, and I love that song.
  8. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) I completely forgot about Jerry Owens. To be fair, Jerry Owens lives on in the body of Brent Lillibridge.
  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 10:35 PM) Huge win after last week's debacle. I dont think many people had Miami 3-1 after 4 games. Glad to see it, especially after they got screwed on the roughing the kicker penalty.
  10. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) I will say this. Even with my concern about Huet, seeing the performances Osgood and Jimmy Howard put up the last two days makes me feel a lot better. Wings could have some serious issues in net this year. Stealing Hossa and Koepecky from them will sure help bring them back to the pack as well.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) And Verlander is 4-9 with a 4.97 career ERA against us. He's thrown some gems, but he's not Santana against us. The Sox love fastball pitchers.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 09:02 PM) He was going to get lucky sometime. He's had one solid hit today. That makes up for the nights he tagged the ball right at someone in the prior week.
  13. Garcia has just been amazing. If he could find say 92-93 on his fastball over the winter, our starting rotation should be awesome next year.
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 06:37 PM) Q-dinger 428 feet. Nice to see, even if it is late in the season. I wonder how long and how much the foot bothered him.
  15. QUOTE (lord chas @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 06:38 PM) anybody else get a nutrisystem commercial and miss the first couple plays of OT? We were blacked out. Then it came back.
  16. Washington sucks. When you get like 50 plays from the one and can't score, you deserve to lose.
  17. Glad to see the INT got overturned and the game got tied. I have no doubt ND will win it in OT.
  18. Why does ND seem to get every single stinking break?
  19. Oh man, with this sort of left wing violent hate speech, we should expect all kinds of murders to be committed. http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/tim-graha...okes-about-shoo
  20. Well at least Grienke is off of the hook for the loss. Man, he would have the Cy Young unanimously if it wasn't for the White Sox. He only could manage a 2-2 record, despite the 2.31 era. They hit 4 of the 11 homers he gave up this year too.
  21. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 04:27 PM) There was also the little issue about Jordan Danks being viewed as a top-100 draft prospect, and in some places even higher, but yet he fell to us in the 7th round, 210th overall. I think even if we don't draft Jordan and someone else does, Scott Borass still gets kicked to the curb. Jordan was DEFINITELY a first day talent and they were shocked to see him still sitting there on the board at the end of it. I believe they went 6 rounds the first day that year, and then with the 8th pick of the second day the Sox took him after the Danks family notified teams they were dropping Borass. If the Sox don't take him in the 7th round he's gone before they pick again in the 8th IMO. Danks told teams not to draft him unless they were going to pay him first or second round money IIRC.
  22. Grienke is looking like a Sox pitcher in the dome now...
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) I like where we're set up for next year, but I think this team dramatically underplayed its talent level, especially offensively, and thus, I can't consider missing the playoffs a success. Heck, just a step up defensively could be worth 5-10 games next year.
  24. Blackburn and Grienke are in a nice duel on Fox. Grienke with one walk through 3 IP and nothing else. Blackburn is perfect through 4.
  25. I don't understand, what about me could be non-likable?
