White Sox Parking- Is my math correct?
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 10:32 PM) When KW bring up I only have 50 cents comments over and over the revenue from parking is part of what he is crying about! Um, English?

What would it take to get Andrew McCutchen from the Pirates?
He hasn't even got into his arbit years yet. He isn't going anywhere until he signs his first big contract.

Financial News
I couldn't believe that the ST people rejected the new terms to keep it open. A pay cut is better than no job at all IMO.

9/30 Sox @ Cle 6:05pm - Gm 2
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) Wait, they've lost like 21 of their last 26, haven't they? Okay, i revoke my previous statement. I do hope we play the Tigers hard this week. Play hard? We had like 5 hits. We just got great pitching.

I'd love to have Kotsay back.

Rotten Tomatoes: Worst of the Worst
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) Parodies don't have to be bad by definition, and that's the difference between Date Movie, Meet The Spartans, etc., and a parody that succeeds on its own right as a film. I'm not saying it's easy, but I'll posit Young Frankenstein as Exhibit A. One of my top 5 favorite all-time films, an outstanding parody of the classic Universal Monster films, and a visually satisfying, meticulously designed film in it's own right. An unfair comparison, I realize. I think Young Frankenstein is Mel Brook's masterpoiece, and is an order of magnitude better than anything else he ever did (and I'm a fan of quite a bit of it). But most of the movies Knight mentioned were intentionally bad. Brooks wasn't going for that.

Something to feel good about....
Its neat, but I am not sure how I feel about violating the sanctity of the game.

2016 Olympics
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) How the voting works, in detail. Friday at 11:30am Chicago time is the first announcement. This is a great article for education of the process. Also interesting was the poll saying that the Olympic bid has a 72% approval rating now.

2016 Olympics
QUOTE (ptatc @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 07:08 PM) The Chicago organizers are pretty confident they are getting it. The university where I work is supposed to host a couple of events if they get it and today there were people measuring for construction. The process is so crazy. Its hard to say. I really, really hope we do, but reading about how the voting works, and some of the past votes... who knows.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 03:10 PM) FINALLY saw The Hangover. Holy crap, that movie ruled. It's no Citizen Kane, see what I did there?, but was fun and definitely will be re-watchable. I watched it about a month ago, and didn't think it was nearly as funny as it was made out to be. Maybe I have to watch it again.

2009 Cubs thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 06:27 PM) We scapegoated him as a cover up for the real reason we traded him, which was because we wanted (and/or needed) to dump salary, so I think it's a little different. That, and we have nowhere near the resume of demonizing guys to look good in our fanbase and then trading them at lowest value that the Cubs do. The Sox have flat out said that his salary was a big reason he was dealt... Remember they said it was his money that signed Viciedo.

QUOTE (League @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 06:00 PM) Wes Whisler. Justin Cassell. Kyle McCulloch, any of the young guys that could be added and pitched would be better than burls. He needs to be shut down. One of those guys just got pulled from the 40 man roster. Another one will never see it.

I hate that they included movies that were intentionally bad.

White Sox Parking- Is my math correct?
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 04:18 PM) KW never bring this up but Sox make a boatload on it and 23 dollars is a Joke! For all of the times that Kenny has gone into detailed accounting of the Sox finances...

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 05:37 PM) We're going to regret throwing out Buehrle for another game if his last start is any indication. He was obviously laboring through the game, with only a modest 81-83mph fastball and a high 70's looping curveball to show for his effort. We have no other pitchers right now.

The Republican Thread
Here is a good article that actually goes back and talks about the previous eight years from the left wing, you know the place that is leading the howls against anyone who has anything bad to say about Obama. I also like the fact that they call for it to end. http://pajamasmedia.com/victordavishanson/...of-the-uncouth/

2016 Olympics
QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 11:49 AM) I think Chicago will win, but my point is, the naysayers saying "Well i'm sure them seeing this brutal beating" "yeah, I hope it goes to rio instead of our corrupt city" ... is rio is way, way worse. But I do think Rio has some heavy hitters coming to bat, it's more than brazil, it's South America that wants this. I'm not even sure Chicago will win. To be honest, I don't know what to think.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 30, 2009 -> 11:48 AM) Categorizing all conservatives along with these extremists is laughable, but so is your idea that this increase in hate is somehow the fault of the Dems. I'm saying I don't think there is a difference in level of hate, just level of reporting. It is a relevant story again, so it gets reported. No one cared when a Repub was President. Its the same reason you don't hear to much about all of whacko left wing groups now.
